mythicals are such a problem its not funny
you can get a free magearna after finishing the story and pokemon league once on sun and moon, just scan the qr code given from the pokemon company itself. i just finished the story game also pokemon go raid legendary events can go a long way

I don't know if anyone has mentioned this, but the Pokeball Plus Mew is one Mew per ball, not per save file, so changes are that when you buy that ball second-hand, then that Mew is gone.
What I love about Pokémon Go is that you can get there legit mythicals on your trainer's OT.
Furthermore, by transfering these Pokémon up to Home their trainer OT takes on the one you've given in Home. It's the only way to get for example Meloeta on your own OT.

Not sure if this has been commented before, but another option for Celebi - since you're already using a 3DS to complete your living dex, if you have pokemon Crystal on the virtual console, you can catch a Celebi in there after you beat the Elite 4.
Bro I missed out on so many mythicals last year... Genesect, MARSHADOW, Volcanion, and ZERAORA. MARSHADOW AND ZERAORA ARE LITERALLY SOME OF MY FAVORITES. The worst thing about it is that apparently you got a shiny Zeraora from the event... I dissed the news of the three genesect, marshadow, and volcanion because all the videos said it was only in the UK. But in december when I walked into my gamestop, I saw that there was a poster for the mythicals saying they came out in OCTOBER!!! Aghh!!!!
This was a fantastic guide. My progress has stalled lately since I haven't paid for HOME so tracking my Pokemon has been a pain. Last I left off, I'd finished my third run of ORAS for the Deoxys formes, just one to go! This is brutal even with the quickest routes, hah 😅

I did this with all forms (minus gender and shiny variants). It took me like 4 or 5 months to get all 70 alcremie forms 😭

To complete my dex all it took was Alpha Sapphire, X, Ultra Moon and Sword, (arceus only for enamorus). this did however require some trading for the few exclusives i couldnt catch myself, but a little breeding was all it took to make my own pokemon.

I just found this video, but I've actually been working on a living dex for about as long as the video has been out. I'm being quite strict on my ruleset, however, and I realise that it means I won't be completing 100% of the dex for...well, as long as it takes for certain mythicals to show up in events. Luckily, Victini is just around the corner from now. My rules are:
- 1 of every pokemon
- Every varient and form gets its place outside of the dex list, but must be caught at some point (just to add to the longevity of the challenge and really get to 'catch em all')
- Every pokemon must be caught by me under the same trainer name between titles (This makes Alolan Golem a nightmare, as it's the only Trade pokemon that can't be caught in the wild in any game, have to own 2 3DSs and two copies of Gen 7 games)
- I have this weird thing about catching only male pokemon, with exceptions to female only species...maybe it's just prefering the blue symbol on the screen, I don't know, but it certainly adds to the challenge on low spawn rate pokemon)
- No pokemon from Go, as I simply don't like the sticker it gives them, and it feels like foregoing the challenge somewhat. I like go, but I have a seperate living dex type thing going on there and don't want the two to mix.
- On the side, I'm working on a seperate living shiny dex, just to have something to work on into the future
I'm currently 186 pokemon away from a full living dex but, by my count and with my rule of being the original trainer, I will be 11-12 pokemon short until I get lucky with events.

The only thing I'd change is I'd recommend starting by completing all games + post game, then go from there in SwSh, and branch out from there for the difficult Pokémon. Primarily because they have the largest number of available pokemon and are the better games between them and BDSP.
Remember for the ones you don't have and you can't get (version exclusives, etc) you can always join a fb group and ask/beg like so many other people do

I’ve been working on a living dex since 2016. Completed it with legends Arceus coming out, and now I’m working on a forme dex.
I’m very proud that every single Pokémon in my living dex is 100% legit with my OT except for Zeraora, Marshadow, Volcanion, and Diancie, which I had to hack in because there was no recent events.
Sometimes you gotta do it! It do be like that!
Zeraora was in a event with SWSH a while back, it was around before the release of Ilse of Armor I think

Hey! I had been working on a live dex before I even knew it was a thing using Pokémon bank & then home. Finally completed it with swsh & legends 🎉 still watched all of this though and found it really interesting. Can’t wait for your video on form & master dex! Any idea when they’ll be up?!
Form will be coming in the next week or so. It’s a big project so it took a lot to get it off the ground! Lol

do need to remember that if you put the furfrou into the lc to transfer to bank in x/y the cut goes away and you get just a base furfrou
It was so easy in Gen VI, I completed most of it just from the GTS, breeding, and Blissey farms
Great video! However, there are some mistakes you might want to caption:
1. Unfortunately, you still reencounter the legendaries you've already caught in the SwSh DLC dens.
2. As for Urshifu, I have three words for you: multiple save files! :)
3. Celebi can be caught in the postgame of Crystal VC.
4. Mew is also available in BDSP provided that you have LGPE save data on your Switch.

They are releasing an event for volcanion genesect and Marshadow this October 14th and October 30th for everyone watching this video now!! In North America it is at GameStop for the first two and target for the later!
Right now Gamestop is running an event for Genesect and Vocanion, starting Oct 30th Target with have Marshadow (in the US)

I personally used the Let’s Go games to start my living dex. Already had the games and it was just gen 1.
I used to have a complete living dex in ultra sun until two years ago. I wanted to restart sun again so I put the game in my 3ds, skipped the intro and deleted the save file... only to realise that I had the wrong game in my 3ds and just deleted ultra sun with my entire living dex instead of sun.
Now my living dex is almost complete again. The only pokemon I couldn't get again is Diancie.
This is one crazy challenge

An update will be coming likely early next year once Indigo Disc comes out and we know what the release slate is for next year. I want to cover everything one we have all the info to make sure it’s as accurate and comprehensive as possible and so it’s not wrong after a few months.

Great for home! I am curious though for precuous gens. Mostly have 4 and 5 figured out but any idea what’s needed for gen 7 living dex? Don’t care for home but tackling a stupid make a full living dex in 4, 5, and 7 good job though

I will be making an update video but Im definitely going to wait for all the DLC to come out at the very least. Ill probably also wait until February to see if any remakes are announced for next year as that would drastically change things - especially if we get BW remakes or something like that.

@@BridgeFourGames I think the dlc will cover for most DS only games. The eshop is shutting down so if the dlc doesn't have those pokemon, it will be impossible to complete it (even though its still impossible today because of event pokemon)
Are you sure you can transfer the mew from GO to home? I thought it was locked and couldn't be moved.

Do we have to wait until March 2023 to transfer 3DS Pokémon to Pokémon Bank to Pokémon home? Looks like you can’t add funds to eshop on 3DS.
If you use your Switch to link your Switch account to your 3DS account, you can add funds to your 3DS that way (through your Switch). It's how I was able to restore access to Pokemon Bank.
Do you need the DLC for both sword and shield?
So you need to complete the national dex in one of your games to get Magearna so what games is it cause I did Arceus so is it BD/SP or Sword and Shield?
It’s every one I think? That or you have to transfer all of the living dex from one game to home

Sorry I just saw this but they are not legit. They genned the entire thing and are selling it. If they did all of it the hard way it wouldn't be cost effective since it takes so much time for them to do it.

Ill likely be making another of these after the DLC comes out just because theres not much point in me making it now when things will change in 6 months. That being said, I'll definitely include some shiny hunting options.

You forgot Celebi can be catch able in Pokémon crystal on 3ds all need to do is beat game I forgot location hands you over gs ball give to that Pokéball maker guy then go to shrine in forest then you can catch it and you can even shiny hunt for it as wall

Sadly you can't take Mew from red bluw yellow.
You can use a glitch to turn the glitch Mew into an event Mew and I think that works on virtual console. But yeah for the most part it’s cut off.
