Have you ever reviewed the Mendini MCT for $75 on Amazon?

No I haven't, but I did do some research and I think the findings are about the same

“Bones”. Is this a clarinet slang, and does it mean the skeletal appearance of the keywork?

Oh god...I'm sure you mean well, but these sorts of "reviews" are so ignorant of Chinese manufacturing history.
Your "Lazzarro" is just another importer-badged, hard-rubber, generic, Chinese-made clarinet, the same as thousands of other importer-named "brands".
There are only TWO Chinese clarinet factories ("Lark" and "Hsinghai"), and they make ALL of the imported Chinese horns with names youve never heard of before.
They have both been making clarinets for over 70 years.

I’m looking to buy a clarinet for my girlfriend that won’t break the bank and I have no idea what to buy. The Jean Paul 400 is kinda the max I’m willing to spend (around $400) but can’t figure out if it’s actually decent. All the reviews about Jean Paul instruments seem to come from the company itself. And knowledge of the brand? And if not, can you point me in the direction of a clarinet in my price range?

You can go with the Jean Paul- I have not played the clarinet but the saxes are pretty solid for the price (check my other videos). Here is the package I would go with if you are doing the JP- amzn.to/2W0I27l. A step up would be the Yamaha, I've had mine for 15+ years and its rock solid. amzn.to/3BhzSrg

@@GarageMaxedOut thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, I did not see it until today. I ended up buying an Etude. I don’t remember what model but it was $300. She couldn’t play it at first but just because of the reed it came with. She got a new reed and is playing well. She seems to like it.

@@Daveyhavok832 Good reeds are key. I have a video posted of how to modify reeds to play well.

Lazarro? Yuck. Nasal...Thin lower end... Yamaha, great standard sound..excellent tuning...LeBlanc seems to have more character and cuts through more, seems like more of a solo instrument. What do you think? What do you think of the Selmer CL300.. Its a USA made clarinet from years back. Some people complain of their clunky non responsive keys

The Lazarro costs less than the cost of a year's rental for most students, so its a viable option
