I was actually there live and both guys performance was amateurish. He looked very silly when he was on top of CM Punk but maybe that's just his style. When he was winding up his punches it reminded me of the old popeye cartoons I used to watch as a kid.

Just like the ppv he took a spot on the final episode on the MMA hour that could have been reserved for a more deserving fighter.
He did exactly what he meant to do. He proved neither one of them belonged in the UFC but Phil for sure as hell didn't. Mike showed he could beat Phil's ass without trying. He made it obvious and that's where the showboating came in. The thing is though....everybody saw it. They saw what he was doing and people like Dana, got angry because he didn't just finish it. Instead he purposefully prolonged the match which honestly was even worse than just finishing him. He should have just played with him for a round...let ppl see CM Punk can't fight, then finished him.
Before the decision is announced at end of the fight - in Jackson's corner - You can hear his coach telling him to be humble.
Why would a coach say that - unless he knows you were show boating? You are not savage enough - is the take away everyone got from that "fight".

When you fight Punk you're the bad guy no matter what. Punk has too many fans. Im fine with what he did. Matter of fact the people and I that were at my house laughed through the whole fight. Why? Because we knew Punk shouldnt be in the UFC and Jackson was exposing him.
But that's on Dana and not Punk though. He allowed this to happen. Punk dipped his toes into mma because he's a fan of the sport and had always wanted to do it, but Dana could have easily said no and I'd imagine that Punk would have just accepted it. When i first saw Punk's mma training prior to the fight against Mickey Gall... I was already sweating bullets for him because I know what was gonna happen. I watch both mma and pro-wrestling, fyi. I'm also a fan of CM Punk, but even I saw that he was gonna get creamed against Mickey.
