BeeJay Van De Griendt I've seen worse. At least with these two, they found two houses that they liked. They've been people who hated every single house they were shown. No. It's too small. No. There's no backyard. No. The road is too busy. No. It's too far from my friends. No. I just don't have the feeling. I mean what's worse? A couple where one likes one house and the other likes another or a couple who agrees that they hate every single house they're shown? lol
Exactly. I think what I am shocked about is the fact that they say offers over X amount. Here in the US we say the house is X amount, and that's what you pay in 99% of the cases unless it's less!
I agree with someone who noted that a budget of $275 000 would have allowed Kirstie & Phil to present other options.

I would be very wary of a new-build with a degraded shower and water problem. Makes me concerned that shortcuts were taken in the build that will make little problems pop up all over for years. A good inspection would be key.
It looks like that shower is a cheap one, and if it were me, I'd be yanking it out anyway. It's so small, you couldn't turn around in it.

Victorian properties were built to withstand damp, so a damp course is a waste of money. If you have damp, find an expert to track it down, don't pay money to snake oil salesmen.
Do they not have dehumidifiers in England? We've always had one in our homes in Canada. If there's a basement, there's a dehumidifier!
