So it is, it ends after the victory of the gorilla, so it also came to the death of the 1995 NES console, then many played SNES, Sega Genesis, Sega CD, Sega 32X, 3DO, Playstation and Sega Saturn!
@@_ALISONas far as i can remember, some of the images between lvls, some enemy's animations, the fact that Simba pretty much stumbles out of touching anything, and that grown up Simba is smaller than his younger counterpart.
Jeez man, I thought I was the only one who thought of this in my life as a weird bug with a long wing on its back but took me awhile that it's in top of a wildebeest. 😂
Jesus! You had nightmares too? As a kid I was always dreaming about the scene where Simba sees his father in the clouds. This scene really scared the shit out of me when I was 5 years old. 😂
I used to play this as a kid on my gameboy pocket. Booted it up after finding the cartridge and holy shit it is impossible. The controls are so bad and worst of is you can barely see anything with the color scale. I immediately turned it off after dying to the hyena in the first level 3 times lol.
The chapter art is kinda wonky o.O Also, adult Simba's sprite looks terrible... I get that it is a port, but I much prefer the SNES version over this one...
Well I want to say they did gopd.. (good But I'll say, they did their best Most games you expect to ve sad ehen they finish... I thunk this one, you'll only be happy
lolothe2nd; Cause you played it on the Easy mode. Same thing happened to me. Have to play on Prince or King to get the full sad experience. The Master System/Game Gear version did the same thing too.
For the first time since June 18, 2020, I'm about to watch "Game Boy Longplay [170] The Lion King". EDITS- 1:04 A.M.: *finishes video 44 minutes later* This port of "The Lion King" was worse than I remembered it being. 1:05 A.M.: However, I'd rather play this port of "The Lion King" multiple times than play the NES port *one* time! 😆
The only well done thing in this entire game is the music conversions. The NES version which I didn't know about until now has to be the absolute worst port of the entire game. Ever. Like, Earthworm Jim 3 bad.
Yeah well... the thing is: The hyenas are absolutely tiny compared to kid-Simba, some of the background objects of the game are *really* out of place (it looks a bit glitchy, if you ask me) and most of the second stage is gone.
+SonataFanatica Believe me, the NES version's wayy worse. It uses these exact same sprites ones (sized to be on a Game Boy, mind you) and plonks it on a huge screen, making those tiny hyenas even tinier. The people working on the NES port were so lazy they CUT OUT HALF OF THE GAME, specifically all the adult Simba scenes, and don't even have an ending. I agree that this Game Boy version is inferior to the SNES and Genesis versions, but it's not the worst by a country mile.
+SonataFanatica (If you want a more authentic 8-bit port there's this bootleg one on the NES called "Super Lion King". I'm not even kidding, a PIRATE game is better than these abominations.)
I used to play this as a 7 year old on my gameboy pocket and never got further than the third level xD You rock!
I never could get past the double-jump in stage 2 on the SNES version. At least it was omitted in this one.
same xD
That was intentionally done by Disney, they made a very difficult game
Same here 😂😂😂
same, was so damn hard for me back then :D
This looks like something that would have been fan-made lol I can't believe they actually released this for the gameboy. Love the aesthetic.
I love how even if it is a game boy, the music still good!
So many memories. I used to have this game and I beat it all the time.
I like how scar basically throws himself off
Scar: You win, Simba! SHENZI, I'm going to jump down so that you and your friends can eat me!
Wow, thanks Virgin Interative for making a better version of the infamous NES game!
0:21 My first DeviantArt Lion King drawing.
“Paws” lol
This version of "The Lion King" was *way* easier to look at than the NES version! 😆
So it is, it ends after the victory of the gorilla, so it also came to the death of the 1995 NES console, then many played SNES, Sega Genesis, Sega CD, Sega 32X, 3DO, Playstation and Sega Saturn!
It’s because this was a licensed port of the game, and the NES version was an unlicensed bootleg done by Super Game.
@@jadencoucopoulos2567 There was an official NES version, but it was only released in PAL regions
I used to play it on easy as a kid and never figure out why it would end after the stampede level
SAME
TRUE i forgot about that wtf
Thanks for uploading this. Mane Event level sparked joyful memories.
man this game has a lot of unintentionally funny moments.
Which moments? ☺️
@@_ALISONas far as i can remember, some of the images between lvls, some enemy's animations, the fact that Simba pretty much stumbles out of touching anything, and that grown up Simba is smaller than his younger counterpart.
nostalgia.
I used to play this game in my Windows95 PC. Good memories! :D
I think that port was a little more successful.
Can you believe this game is even getting ported to modern platforms right along with Aladdin?
I just got that game yesterday at Target.
It even includes the gameboy ports for both games.
I like how this is better than the nes version
It was a LOT better because it was complete
When I was a kid, I thought the wildebeest were giant flies. I never made it past the stampede.
Jeez man, I thought I was the only one who thought of this in my life as a weird bug with a long wing on its back but took me awhile that it's in top of a wildebeest. 😂
Now i will have nightmares again.
Jesus! You had nightmares too? As a kid I was always dreaming about the scene where Simba sees his father in the clouds. This scene really scared the shit out of me when I was 5 years old. 😂
nice video . You are the best youtuber
Lord the memories
Thanks, didnt know you could do the roll move

used to have this. idk what happened to it?
Why? When I’m playing that giraffe is looked up and make zimba fall down from his head..☹️
Oh wow, I didn't know this has been ported to other Nintendo systems.
Will check the NES port out now!
607 for the love of God don't.
Jake Long I did, I was quite amazed. :P
Better check out the unlicensed version,it's much better
This game was so stressful, the Pocahontas and superman games were the worse! Good ol days 😂
I played Lion King game in MS-DOS.
Большое Вам Спасибо За Видео. Лайк.
The chapter art is kinda wonky o.O
Also, adult Simba's sprite looks terrible...
I get that it is a port, but I much prefer the SNES version over this one...
Limitations, bro
The Gameboy couldn’t too many sprites, so they made due with what they had
Well I want to say they did gopd.. (good
But I'll say, they did their best
Most games you expect to ve sad ehen they finish... I thunk this one, you'll only be happy
Credit scene by Elton John !?
Does he know?
that OST have to much merit in that plataform
saludos desde españa
that was my first game for the game boy
Even just looking at the footage, I can tell it doesn't control well.
Why does this look better than the new versikn
sonic heroes longplay. why not?
one day I played last time but I ddnt noticed
Like the little Lion on the Terranigma Game ( SNES)
What do you think should I get this game
It's a good game that worth it for nostalgia. And quite a challenging game too. Challenge yourself to this
@@vijaybissessur7006 I decided not to get the game but thanks anyway
thx got stuck in the elephant graveyard area
o! que grande
you are the Good on the game
rian ferreira thanks to savestates an re-recording software
Порт с 16-битных консолей хороший, но она в конце уровней очень багнутая, управление неудобное, из-за этого версия для геймбоя и считается сложной =/
Play Pac-Man Special Color Edition for Game Boy Color that includes Pac-Man and Pac-Attack.
I remember my game ended after the stempeade
lolothe2nd; Cause you played it on the Easy mode. Same thing happened to me. Have to play on Prince or King to get the full sad experience. The Master System/Game Gear version did the same thing too.
@@eugeneketaminekrebs3403 Unfortunately, no matter what difficulty you chose, the NES version always ends on Hakuna Mutata. Just, WOW!
Next port: NES version
🦁
Hey, without the colour of the NES version it does somehow look a little less horrible.
For an GB game is decent.
Also who was the jackass who think that porting this directly to the NES was a good idea?
In 1994?
1995
@@PuckmanBG That one year gap makes the game worse than it already was.
Don't play it on the GBC either.
Simba is cute
We didn't get a strong ending at all with this port.
Well, at least it wasn't like the NES port.
Yeah, they missed an op to show the Circle of Life scene as a celebratory end.
4:58 OMG I hated that level
but this song is awesome
Best level.
This is better then snes
In terms of difficulty & overall gameplay experience - you're right. Definitely it's much less frustrating (however, there are a few harder moments).
The level on gameboy isn't easy

Play bubble symphony on the sea saturn
when the sea saturn is released I'm sure they will.
firekind1980 lol
The Movement sucked ass but beside that, it was pretty funny

Do horror games soon. Halloween is coming.
ԋαɳʂ ωolʇ they usually do them anyway. They did fatal frames 4.
Does the NES port of Lion King count as a horror game? I mean, it is HORRIBLE to play!
Stop pausing the game 😠
This must be the worst conversion of game I've ever seen.
SonataFanatica Check the Mortal Kombat games LOL.
You obviously haven't seen the NES port of this game, ported directly from this very GB version.
Yeah well... the thing is: The hyenas are absolutely tiny compared to kid-Simba, some of the background objects of the game are *really* out of place (it looks a bit glitchy, if you ask me) and most of the second stage is gone.

MallyPureSmooth what do you spect with a game boy?
The Gameboy and NES had much more limits than the SNES. This was alot of effort with a Gameboy.
@@waffle5422 You should check the unlicensed NES port by Super Game. That port will blow your mind.
Awful game! Simba controls like absolute arse!
