I have the same radio restored it and it is the best radio I've ever owned, also the mobile cp-300 with matching power supply. I have a second cpi cp-2000 in the process of being restored just waiting on capacitors the axials are getting harder to find.

It was the best CB ever made period. I had one and my friend had one in 1978. The filtering was amazing. I have the ICOM IC7800 and the CPI seems better receive.

Wow caught this by chance and this has, since 2013, been my favorite retro futuristic looking CB radio. Just something that is a must own in life as the design is art itself. I'd never seen a good video of one. Imagine my surprise to see it reviewed by you, with the details, historical summary and video quality you always present. Superb.

That was the most sought after of the legendary radios back in the 80s & 90s, even over the DAK. Very nice example there Sir. They had a few add-on acceceries too, a Freq. counter, and a "ON the AIR" display, etc. perhaps more. I knew a CBer w/the handle "Southern Gentleman" he had one, he was fairly wealthy, LOL. He also had the whole Bang & Olafson stereo system that was also impressive as well.

I’m pretty sure CPI also made a mobile rig as well. Haven’t seen a CPI radio in over 30 years! Nice to see one still out there in such good condition and still working like it should. Always wanted one but could never afford it. Still can’t.........

I inherited one of these with a side console - what are they valued at these days?

It heavily depends on the condition. A working unit that is cosmetically in nice shape and unmolested by a CB butcher (they always try to expand the number of channels and do a lot of damage in the process) is easily worth $700, maybe even $1000. If you still have the original box we might be talking $1500. If the unit is in rough shape cosmetically, not much more than $300 assuming it still works. If it doesn't work at all but cosmetically still nice probably in the range of $100 - $400, depending on repair-ability. (the good news is they are not too hard to repair, assuming the radio is unmolested). Keep in mind almost all of these radios will have to have the electrolytic capacitors replaced after almost forty years, and also the meter light bulbs often need replacement. Hope this helps.
