I've never heard of this band until November 9th, 2016. That was the night that my house burned down. I was very overwhelmed and knew I needed encouragement. When I was finally alone, I turned on my Christian radio station. The first song that played was Good Good Father by House Fires. I could not believe that that was the name of the band. God used this very song to speak directly to me. The amount of peace that washed over me was unreal. He is a good Father and has been diligently caring after my family through this entire situation. Thank you House Fires, for allowing God to use you in mighty ways!!

My two girls are sitting colouring and singing this song together. Nothing like the voices of children singing to His glory. One of them remarked that the song was about "daddy" and the other replied "no, it's about God silly." To which the youngest (6 years) replied "so we got both and got doubled blessed." My wife is 8 weeks pregnant and our baby does not yet have a heartbeat (we were told by the doctor that babies typically have a heartbeat by 6 weeks). I am believing God for a miracle. People who've struggled like I have, suffered much, and don't know if God really is "perfect in all his ways" like the song goes. I just want to say that just because you have pain doesn't mean God doesn't love you. God really is a good, good father. I still believe that after chronic illness, depression, and loss. Last weekend a dear friend (Collin) and co-worker of mine was hit by a drunk driver who was going the wrong way on the interstate without his lights and was killed instantly. He loved Jesus, and loved people more than anyone I knew. This song instantly started looping in my mind when I received the tragic news of the loss. God is good. He is a perfect leader and a perfect father. He will look after Collins two young children. God is good.
States need to crack down on drinking anything, smoking anything and phones while driving .your response reached me somehow and I'm feel goosebumps on how the Lord instantly comforted you 🙏... I grew up in church but as soon as I turned 18 I ran far away from God. Long story short, while on the run, life kicked my butt for many years. I finally was so broken and couldn't take it anymore. Depression, anxiety, attempted suicide, bitter divorce, binging, purging, self hate, anger, name it. I was a broken mess. I realized that my Father in heaven never gave up on me, He still had a plan for me. He was waiting for me with arms wide open. I will never forget that night in 2010 in my room while watching TBN by "accident". I completely surrendered give my life back to the Lord. It was the best I slept in years. What PEACE I had! 😭
Nothing would ever separate me from the Love of God. NOTHING!
At the end of the day, we sing our praises to an audience of one, and I think when it comes to genuine worship, no amount of repetitiveness is unnecessary. I highly doubt God is sitting on the throne saying "Oh how I just wish they'd stop saying the same thing over and over again.." Worship is worship. No matter the structure, whether it be more traditional or more contemporary, God hears our praises nonetheless, and it's such a sweet incense. I love this song and I pray that God continues to use y'all's voices and gifts for His glory.

I was worried about how I was going to pay for my tuition for school. I ended going to corporate prayer today and I didn't want to bring up my need because I had other people's needs I wanted to uplift. My friend recently lost his dad and a cousin of mines a mother of seven ask me to pray for her spiritual guidance. So their needs were my prayer request. After prayer a girl walks up to and said she feels lead to pay for my tuition. So I want to shout you're a GOOD GOOD FATHER THATS WHO YOU ARE AND IM LOVED BY YOU THATS WHO I AM!

I’ve never had a dad because he died when I was 1. My mom god married and I felt like I finally had a father that can love me and be there for me and teach me. But he was the complete opposite to what me and my brothers expected. He would beat my mom and abuse us physically and with hurtful words. I’ve grown up not trusting people and god. But at the age of 16 at soul survivor I gave my life to god because he told me that every time I would cry in my room by myself, every time I was depressed, every time I was hurt and abused, HE WAS THERE. HOLDING ME. He’s a good good father and will never forsake me nor leave me and he loves me more than anyone can and ever will.

Little did I know that it would be the first thought in my mind when the doctor said "thyroid cancer" to me on September 3. He told me to go to my "happy place" while he took the biopsy and the only thing I could think as I stared at the ceiling was, "He's a Good, Good Father." So thank you. Thank you for writing and singing this so that it could be that song in my heart when I got the news no one wants to hear. I would like to request that the grammar be checked over in the lyrics. The line "I've heard a thousand stories of what they think your like" is beautiful and poetic and conveys a thousand words in a phrase, however the word "your" in this case should be a contraction for "you are" so it should read "you're" not "your". Some of the phrases in the lyrics have the proper use of "you're" and others don't. These things are small considerations and certainly don't take away from my worship experience whatsoever as I know what you meant and I can simply listen and be moved by the power of the spirit that draws me into a place where grammar is obscured by Glory... However, there are some who would read that and be put off by it and it would take away from there worship experience... whooops! I mean 'their' experience. ;)

An hour ago, I was listening to this and singing along while walking outside, and suddenly I realized pain was gone from my left forearm. It was exercise-related and pretty much prevented arm curls and the like. But gone now!
A special someone had quickly prayed for it on the phone a bit earlier - a quick little sentence in a normal phone conversation... but the Father heard every word!

I never knew my farther either. Herd he was in Los Angeles States Pentenry for killing his parents and my mom said we move from Los Angeles to New Orleans to fee from him coming after us. So I never knew my farther since we moved when I was a baby however as a result this left a hug hole in my heart and made me question was I worth anything. Grew up with low esteem and always seeking approval from family and friends even if it ment doing stuff I didn't want to. Then when I live in New Orleans I had a tough time Somedays working 3 part jobs and attending high school then I move to New York because of many abuse and glad to say that now 6 years from moving to NY I had a encounter with God and I know I am loved and that he is trully a good farther I encountered God's love on a level that only those who experience the same abuse or death of a friend would ever understand the hurt of my pass. Some people would never be able to understand what me and others have been through but just know God loves each one of us and he is trully a good farther so yes some father's days it's hard but am always reminded of my truly farther God and it make me know He loves me

You must understand how much the devil hates when you pursue and develop your relationship with God!! He will constantly bring things to distract you from staying on the potter's wheel, studying the Word, praying, seeking, being thankful, and praising and worshipping God.
Satan is subtle and cunning, he will use things that seem "godly" to distract you from GOD..!

The Lord never intended for you to live this life alone, and before you were even born, He already predestined your victory! God desires a beautiful, intimate, and constant relationship with you.. but He is humble and meek, and He gives you and I the opportunity to choose Him.

Hi all. I was a church music director for years. I resigned when I could not tolerate the mishmash of garbage that permeated Christian music for such a long time. Misquoted scriptures, endless repeats of 'We will never be defeated', 'I will never fail' kinda stuff. Overly complicated song structure to make us feel 'relevant'. I am sooooooo blessed to hear this song, and a few others coming into the Christian arena. Honesty, uncomplicated, God focussed. I am so blessed that I have begun to play my guitar again, after some years of annoyance. Well done guys. Keep it real, keep it simple, keep it about God.

I was going for surgery to determine where cancer can be after being found in my apendix in December and our worship leader Ina Major found out of what I was going through played this song and I believe it was directed at me and been listenning and declaring he's my good father until and after I get results. But I know God is in me becsuse when I get surgery his peace falls all over me. Amen

I’m a worshipper at heart, I worship the Lord as often as I can, He is so worthy! About a month ago or so I woke up from a dream with “You shall be perfect in all your ways” in my mind and it’s never left Me. The Lord has spoken to me in songs before and through other prophets, but I had not heard this song. Today I was going into meditation and I felt led to click on footage of the revival in KY and the moment it came on I heard “You are perfect in all of your ways.” It was the most beautiful Father saying, Your mine, don’t beat yourself up, this is a work in progress, you will be perfect in all of your ways because I am and you’re mine, and I love you. People it’s beautiful! There’s now no condemnation for all in Christ. The Lord showed me I am harder on myself sometimes than anyone, especially Him, He is just dying for us to move out of the way so that He can come love all the pain away. I am a prodigal returned a couple years back and daily I am in awe of such Divine mercy that poured through the heart of Christ at Calvary, and it’s a never ending supply. Oh Lord, thank You for keeping your own and drawing us back unto Yourself. I love You, Father, Son, Holy Spirit.

This song is so inspiring. My dad passed away a 14, and before then he wasn't fully there for me. In fact some things he did were downright wrong. But lately God's been showing me that He doesn't see me that way. I've been thinking about what I would say if I were to share my testimony at my church, and I really think this part about the Lord would be something I would want to emphasize that he's shown Himself to be in my life, and to encourage the college students I would share it with about the Lord--that He is a good father, when we accept Christ we are called his children, and that is such an amazing thing.

Such a beautiful, genuine song! The words give me goose bumps! I heard this for the first time last weekend during our church's youth ministry worship time and was absolutely drawn to the response of the middle and high school students! :-) Hearts were abandoned and arms were raised high! So many of our youth today struggle with the truth of God's unconditional love for each of them. Brought tears to my eyes and still does.
