- After the death of Shannen Doherty on July 13th, 2024, fans are in mourning. The actress, who was best known for her roles as Brenda Walsh on "Beverly Hills, 90210" and Prue Halliwell on "Charmed," was a fixture on primetime TV in the '90s and 2000s, sadly succumbed to the cancer that she'd been fighting for years.

It’s such an overwhelmingly sad day. I really feel for Shannen’s family and close friends. She was an amazing person who still seemed strong within these past few weeks. I never sensed from her podcast that she was so near her end. As sad as it is, I’m glad she’s in a better place.

I have multiple myeloma. 62 now and fighting it. Dr says I have a good chance of beating it.
I got my first mammogram right after Shannen was diagnosed. We were around the same age and I realized if it could happen to her it could happen to me. I found out after multiple testing that I had stage IV breast cancer right out of the gate. She kept me company even though she never knew me. After almost 8 years and countless surgeries and treatments, I just received a clean PET scan. I have so much gratitude for being able to see my kids reach young adulthood and many other milestones. I have survivor's guilt. Why am I here when so many didn't get to make it? Thank you Shannen for showing me how to fight. You helped so many, just leading by example.

I know what you mean by survivors guilt. I received a kidney transplant from a young man that died in an accident. I never knew him and even though it's been 4 years I still have guilt because he died so I could live.
We're here because God has a purpose for us. It is up to us to seek him so that we can understand what his will is.
@@mr.d.572 Very true. I've been writing a book about my cancer. It has a different slant since I had a bad attitude, was furious and had a complete breakdown. I slowly became more positive and to accept the small victories. Too often cancer patients are told to be positive or else. So hopefully I can make a difference.
I am battling AML Leukemia at the age of 28 and this breaks my heart. She fought hard, she is a true strong woman and will always be!

I'll be turning 60 next year, and its shocking how many people I grew up with have passed. I can easily name 40+ from my school days that have passed, and others that are currently battling at least one health care issue. Thank You Shannon for being so open about your cancer fight. I'm sure it has helped many people remain hopeful and active.

I never had a problem w/milestone bdays before, but for some reason I'm having a hard time w/this milestone bday that's for sure. Maybe it is that we've lost so many celebs we knew & loved, but also I lost many people in this past year & a half as well. Now it's just me & my 81 yo mom that I'm caring for in my home. All these losses only keep highlighting the inevitable happening to my mom & best friend.😔

Over the last 60 years, almost everyone in my family has died of cancer, with the most recent, my mom, less than 3 years ago. Cancer is hell on earth & I’m so sorry that Shannen lost her life from at such a young age. Rest in Peace, Ms. Doherty.
So sorry to hear that. There has been so many advances in genetics and identifying people who have an inherited predisposition towards certain cancers, such as breast, ovary, colorectal, and prostate related to the BRCA1 and BRCA2 gene mutations, Lynch syndrome, etc.
Have you considered a genetic workup? I have seen cases where, unfortunately, both sides of the family carried the gene mutations that increased the risk for various kinds of cancer.
Cancer is very hard t9 beat I’ve seen the strongest people loose that battle stay healthy it’s the only way to beat cancer

Shannon was diagnosed shortly after I was with the same type of triple negative cancer. Hers was in one lymph node to start with. It broke my heart to watch what she was going through with her husband when he supposed to be the person to support you when you're ill. I loved her on Charmed and 90210 and later introduced my children to Charmed and they loved it. I'm so sorry Shannon I hope that you are able to find peace we will all miss you greatly

I've watched Shannen on television since she played Jenny Wilder on the 9TH. and final season of Little house on the Prairie. I enjoyed watching her on Beverly Hills 90210. My favourite couple was Dylan McCay and Brenda Walsh. One of her last movies was so moving and she did a Phenominal performance in the movie No one would tell where she portrayed the Mother of a High School student named Sarah who was physically abused and then murdered by her boyfriend. RIP AND GODSPEED SHANNEN. You will always be remembered as a very talented actress and a very courageous woman. We'll miss you.😢❤

I used to travel a lot because of work.
One travel, I had a layover at LAX before my flight to Singapore. I saw Shannen walking through LAX with 3 people with her. Many fans acknowledged & greeted her but Shannen & her entourage didn't slow or stopped for the fans. It looked like they were rushing to their terminal perhaps to catch their flight.
I don't think 53 years on earth is long enough. I know that the world today is much more chaotic but I wouldn't trade it for the alternative.
I've always been known as a work-a-holic because I never had the luxury of relying on anybody from the time I was 6 years old. Yes, including and especially my parents. But I turned the ugly to good because I am a very successful business owner.
It's time to slow down and enjoy what our Creator has given us. Shannen and many others like her are teaching us something even in times of sadness.

So many of the cast members from little house on prairie ended up getting cancer and many of those that did died. I heard it was due to location it was shot in. Something about it was cancerous

Love, love that show much…that when I had my son…I knew the (was sure of the sex at the time) he and/or she’s name was going to be Dylan. I loved her on Charmed. She was so beautiful. And as goofy as it sounds, her commercial (education connection) was on while I was in college. I’d always think of it when I was having a tough time in school and the jingle motivated me.

I am going thru chronic fatigue after stopping a medication i was on and i have zero energy to even shower 🚿 or dress myself and these symptoms can last up to 2 months for some reason...I am miserable and cry sometimes but this is just a reminder of how much I have to be grateful for..I literally feel heartbroken she lost her battle with cancer..here I am miserable bc I can't tie my shoes 👟 some days .. Chemo has saved many lives and cured many cancers. Yea some people still die but many survive and many live cancer free for many many years after. Some have a recurrence but if you look at statistics, the.majority don’t once they’ve done chemo and have had a good response. Statistics don’t lie
