I need to change a pair of extension springs on a single garage door, but I have a new set of springs from a double garage door left over. Is it safe to use these springs on the single door?
They'll probably be too strong. Look for a label on the door with the spring size or door weight.
Is that the only way to find out what kind of new springs u need?
Usually you can see the color on the spring. If not look for a label on the side of the door.
