The way Xu Kaicheng delivers his lines, and with his natural speaking voice (as in not dubbed), you can practically feel the malice and cruelty dripping with every word he speaks. He's a really great actor.

Que bueno ver otra vez a Xu Kai Cheng. Es un placer ver sus actuaciones. De vez en cuando repaso sus doramas, porque no hay novedades con el. No entiendo como hay tantas series nuevas y el no está actuando o solo un rol secundario. Lo echo de menos, cualquier cosa que interpreta, bueno o menos bueno. His “reasons” for raping and abusing her are BS. He is absolutely as cruel as he is portrayed. And he does not love her at this time. Maybe he comes to love her but for half of the drama he hates her and shows it in his words and actions. Also-when did he protect her? Did he protect her from him violently raping her? Did he protect her from the toxic drugs he force her to take every day after he was done raping her? Did he protect her when he banished her to the cold palace and prevented anyone from going to see her? Was he protecting her in this clip when he forced her to drink a huge amount of alcohol? No-he wasn’t.
You are defending him based on the very end of the drama-not on how he actually was throughout the drama.
