23 years ago, Vince Russo was mentally breaking down from having to deal with a collection of multimillionaires with giant egos inside an unsympathetic corporate structure.
Today, he's sad because he gets paid to watch wrestling.
Totally agree. I was never a fan of his booking, but I never made it personal because I don't know the guy. But, good grief he seems to be so fragile. And, he can stop watching wrestling whenever he wants and go get a job somewhere else.
I don't think Vince would survive long in the real world. I work 40 hours a week doing something I don't like much for a HELL of a lot less than Vince Russo's making.
I get if he doesn't enjoy wrestling these days -- I like the old stuff a lot better myself -- but it's called a JOB because it's a job. If you enjoy it, you're lucky, but if ya don't, eh, be glad yer only working a few hours a week doing something easy and getting overpaid for it. Some people work with a shovel all day for starvation wages.

Well if Vince isn't happy, I will gladly take the position and hell I will do it for half of what he is making and I will gladly tell them how I really felt about the episode. I will say thanks to guys like Dutch Mantell and Jim Cornette, they've completely changed how I watch wrestling and have helped me understand much more than I did when I was younger without any knowledge of any of the inner workings.

@@markv1274 I think you’re taking the “I didn’t choose it, it chose me” thing a little too literal. What he’s saying is, he loved pro wrestling so much, and was such a fan that he felt compelled to work in the industry. Not in the sense that he was physically abducted by wrestling, and wrestling forced him to work for it LOL. He had the wrestling bug, and wanted to give it a go. With Russo, it’s a lot more nuanced. He’s admitted over and over that his video stores were a bust, and that he’s not a good businessman. He’s not lazy, I’ve seen him put in the work on his Brand over the past 10 years. Lots of 2 am live streams, answering questions for free while everyone else made you pay… if they even allowed questions at all. But I also understand the “shut up and move on” side too. 🤷🏾♂️

I could listen to old school guys like Dutch Mantell all day long. So many stories and advice to offer.
I have fallen a sleep watching WWE. Especially in the HHH 20 minute opening promo era.
Nowadays, some of my favorite wrestlers are on RAW but that's still a LONG 3 hours, with a lot of filler and commercials! I watch it live for the first 90 minutes and record the rest!
As a teenager, I helped my uncle roof houses. My first 9-5 clock in/clock out job was a trailer factory full of coke & meth heads. I later had this one restoration job where they didn't supply or even tell us we needed goggles and masks & a bunch of blown insulation got into my face to where my eyes were so red & irritated, that I had to go outside in the winter to shove snow in my face. It wasn't until recently that I looked up the types of insulation and found out it was wool & not the dangerous asbestos that I had spent the last 14 years worried that I had been exposed to. Unless you're suffering from actual mental health, you shouldn't have much to complain about sitting around getting paid to have opinions on the internet.

I can't feel sympathy for anyone who makes good money from their own house doing something they chose to do.
And I say this as a guy who counts his lucky stars to be able to do 90% of my work from home for the last 7 years. It's 110 where I'm currently at and people are out there building skyscrapers, they're who I feel for when they're saying how stressful work is. And they're doing the important stuff I inexplicably got over on, I feel guilty sometimes that I lucked into my profession of two decades.
I know this isn't why James said all that he said, but thank you for all the hard work you do to bring us entertainment.

So glad James made that comment. If the worst thing you have to get paid for is to sit down and watch a wrestling show for a couple of hours, I think you are doing better then others. Hard to disagree with James as a Russo fan. Well said mate. I will say this though, Russo has been unfairly crapped on, vilified and disrespected by an industry that he worked very hard for/in and like it or not objectively speaking had a net positive contribution to it. The guy worked his ass off.
He receives the amount he deserves based on how poorly her performed. It is the level of vitriol that he received that is too much, but dollars to donuts, he does deserve the volume and near universal disapproval he receives.
@@zaneplatt3533 depends who you talk too. Plenty of people put Russo over the two biggest draws ever in Rock and Austin put Russo over, and people who are more casual fans whose arent wrestling marks I would wager like Russo for the most part.

Russo reminds me of many people I’ve come across while I was in the military, and whom I still run into as a DOD contract worker…they hate the military and what it’s about, they can’t stand the fact that the government is involved with health care, etc, but they stay in the service until they retire and will reap the benefits that come with it.

I have to disagree with you brother. Vince is not burnt out on Wrestling - he NEVER liked wrestling. He's said as much, and you could tell by how he disrespected the belts so much so that he put it on the Peckerwood Arquette. That is Disrespect 101.
Linda McMahon gave Vince Russo a job writing for Raw Magazine so he’d quit calling them so much. Soon after Vince McMahon made him head writer of the show after calling a meeting and throwing a copy of Raw magazine down and saying “THIS!! This has attitude!! This is what we need!”
Vince Russo leaving WWE was a blindside. He took the job at WCW while Vince McMahon was overseas and called and told him the DAY OF Raw that he was now working for their biggest competitor at the time. Wrestling definitely didn’t choose him 😂

I record guitar videos on CZcams, I work two part time jobs and odd jobs when I can get em and I still record so maybe ten people may see me play if I'm lucky. I never feel bad for nothing because someone would gladly trade their struggles for mine. Vince is the epitome of a New York yuppie
I remember someone who worked for WWE once told me that if he showed up for work and at the last hour before the show Vince McMahon decided it would take place underwater he would not be surprised. One thing I do tend to forget about WWE is the hours, particular times of day due to Vince McMahon's self induced insomnia. I work two jobs, and before I've worked third shift, so I can relate being up late or early. What baffles me is having that kind of schedule for one job that shouldn't need it.

Ha, James is right. I used to work with Vince and I like the guy but this sounds exactly like someone that is burnt out and terminally online (I can say from personal experience.) Vince needs to count his blessings, touch grass and take a break.
I think Vince over shared. I truly believe he doesn’t enjoy covering wrestling and resents it. I could imagine it’s a bit difficult knowing a great source of income is provided by something you don’t like. The problem is no one cares.

i lived at school and had to work for half the day circa june 2005-2006. 17 years old at Rhodes Bake n Serv factory, had to be very fast, it was cold, & the adults were rude. ~ sent to do cleaning instead, i ruined my hands scraping bread dough off the machines with a 'paint' scraper 8-10 hours a day during summer.
