Playa - I'm finally starting to make consistent tee shots, less poofies. Broke 90 twice in the last 3 rounds, shot 86 last round (92, and 87 the prior 2) with so many opportunities for my short game to take me to low 80s. For so long my long game was my reason I stayed out of the 80s. This series is very timely. Recently my successful swing change (less wrist cock) has made me so much more consistent, but I need to relearn my distances a bit to dial back in, probably lost a few yards. Loving the journey! Good luck B-Dog! I'm going to be practicing locking in my tempo and relaxation while dialing in my wedge / chipping / putting game.

What's missing for fun? Having my good friend and also avid amateur golfer live in my city again so we can get out and make each other's game better. We've both been following you for a few years now and our games have drastically improved since probably 2015. We at least always break 90 but are at the cusp of regularly breaking 80. We get together a few times per season and the rounds are always so much more fun than with strangers because we pump each other up and elevate each other's games. I miss that a lot, especially since we're both getting to the single digit handicap mark.

Im missing consistency. Translating the range tempo to the course. On the course i get quick come over the top. My contact is good but my divet is always left of the target. I've learned to just play the shape and not worry about making adjustments on the course

Kind of hard to play when you don’t know whether you’ll stripe it, hook it, slice it, top it, or chunk it. Getting lessons next season since I’ll be able to afford them. I’ve been experimenting with different drills and swing patterns on the range the last couple weeks. Previous best is 98, but I’m sure I can shoot 90 if I played with the Playa’s mental game.

Ive been really interested in adding a affordable launch monitor to my game like the swing caddie. Often times on the range i like to imagine that i am playing through a course to give my practice some purpose and force me to not just aimlessly swing the same club. A launch monitor would turn those practice sessions into a calculated game

I had a similar issue with putting. I found that having my eyes right over the ball (like most suggest) made it so that when I looked up at the hole, it was left of my eyeline, which made me pull the ball.
I changed my putting so that my eyes are now about 4-6 inches INSIDE the ball and when I look at the hole it LOOKS better lined up now. Has helped with putts inside 15 or so feet immensely!

Doing much better at following the WOTP, and now 5 rounds with freshly fitted new irons and wedge, last 4 of which have been my first 4 sub 100 rounds. Confidence and fun level trending upward. Thinking about rewarding myself with some Waddaplaya accessories for Christmas. (would do it sooner, but golf budget went to the irons). Be warned 90, I'm coming for you. Onward and downward! I am following B-dog’s journey as it is very close to mine. However, I am a bit older at 67 years old. Lol. Yesterday I shot a personal best 85. My average is low 90s so this was a huge improvement for me and mostly a result of slowing down my swing and getting into a better tempo. I focus a lot on chipping and putting and that has helped lower my scores. Can’t wait for Brian to break into the 70s. Watching with much anticipation. Love the channel and the content. Thanks Matt. I already have a gold divot tool but the biggest weakness in the game right now is consistency off the tee. A good driving day is sub-80. A day where I don't figure out the ball flight off the tee until the back 9, puts me mid 80s.

What's missing from my game to make it more fun? The Waddaplaya feather divot tool of course. How can I have more fun scoring birdies if there aren't enough feathers to plant, jk. Money and the pandemic being over so me and some friends can finally plan a trip to visit Las Vegas to play a ton of golf courses together

What’s missing in my bag is a ball retriever. A little fishing with my golf would be jazzy!

B-dog got his Sunday red on, just like that Tigger character who was friends with Christopher Robin.

There are a lot of things missing from my game but talent is probably the biggest one.

What’s missing from my game to make it more fun? Usually the ball after I hit it off the tee.

  • @jeancamillelebreton4861

I really do miss some fireworks from the hole when i make a random birdie ! That would be a way to make golf even funnier !

Nothing missing from my game to have fun:D I could play 10 hours a day, if there wasn't the inconvenience of having a job and friends:D
To improve i have some swing mechanics i wanna nail down, but am generally happy. Also reading greens could be a lot better!

What would make golf more fun for me? Golf trips. I need to do some golf trips. Take off with a few buddies and just travel to golf courses and play play play.
