  • Here we see green woodworking expert Justin Sanford demonstrate traditional spoon carving. Justin shares his obvious skill and enthusiasm for this work as he tells us about the specific tools and techniques he adopts to produce these beautiful, useful items. From selecting the `found` wood for its particular properties, to setting the tradition in a social and historical context, Justin`s respect for the wood and for his craft is clear. / justin.sanford.9469 www.bathandwest... Such a rare thing to see a person appreciating older times, techniques and history. Well, I mean there's a lot more people like that in Europe ,but it's real rare in America :/... And he even gives it off to the next generation! Amazing. I just got into spoon carving, and my first spoon is more like a shovel, but I won't give up.

I`ve never seen a chest protector made out of wood before, but! I think it`s a great idea especially if it stops you from taking a chisel in the chest or a slash. I`m seriously considering making one myself, because no matter how careful you can be, It`s the slip you never ever expected to happen that can cause you a serious if not fatal injury, so yes, a brilliant Idea. Not very pretty probably but, highly effective and could prevent oneself from getting hurt badly no matter how careful one can be.
