- Oh my! Here it is! It was just as hard as I expected!
In the video you will find many of your questions to be tested and answered! Sorry guys, there are many questions left out and that was for various reasons. The ideal thing would be to ask one question in a different post rather than posting many in one making it a wall of text which didn't fit with the video very well due to the time everyone has to spent to read it all and having to stop the video regularly. I had to slightly edit a few of your posts to make it a bit easier for reading.
Some of those that were left out are:
• Some questions were tests that required a whole video
• Similar questions with others
• Very time consuming to test
• Impossible to test
• Too many questions in one post with very bad alignments.
In any case, I hope you can enjoy the video as there are plenty things covered and plenty new things discovered! At least for me there are a few interesting things which I didn't know.

The Paradrop troops are consider airborne and not airborne at the same time. You cannot occupy the landing spot before they are landed lol.

If RA 2 ever goes into remaster phase, I hope dev watches all tg‘S testing video cause they provide some amazing insights of how the old game code interact with each other.

you can help yourself with the development of the open source version of the game over at OpenRA.net. They've rebuild RA 1, C&C 1 and Dune2000 already, and are hard at work to have Tiberian Sun working. Tiberian Sun and RA 2 are mechanically extremely similar, so if one of the two is finished, the other is easy to recreate as well. There are already fully playable varients and custom mods for the indev Tiberian Sun version.

Craziest thing you might never think of: (kinda ask you to try)
Any tree on the map can kill every single tank, try to use Magnetron drop Slave MIner or MCV on a bush or a tree, the tree will stay the same no matter what the vehicle is and how many vehicle dropped on it
There's a reason Mirage Tanks disguise as trees. ;)

The one with the Firepower Upgrade interacting with the Defense structure had me making the same expression as I did not at all expect that to happen!
The IFV + Unit Loaded vs IFV + Unit test made sense as that it'd be same (if not stronger for the loaded unit IFV) to make it a worthwhile mechanic outside putting Engineers in IFV for the rolling healbox.
This actually makes me wonder: it crate affect defense structures - will it affect chained too like prism tower and charged tesla coil?
@@darykeng I have to think if you charged an upgraded Tesla Coil with a Shock Trooper it would be stronger as well.
Another question would be "Does level and powerups on a Shock Trooper matter to a Charged Tesla coil?"
The Chained Prism Tower might matter if the boosted tower is the final shooter or one of the ones which fed another tower.
i'd say guardian GI + ifv unloaded is better in the case going against rocketeers spam , cuz the guardian GI is better against armored tanks / planes but worse against infantry
and u get more attacks against low hp targets , but other than that better have GGI in IFV

Okay so the gibberish guy asking about mind control meant this:
What happens when you mind control an ai’s unit, then kill that ai.
And as a corollary, if that mind controlled unit is still around after the ai is dead, what happens when it stops being mind controlled?

The unit remains alive under mind-control, but as soon as it's lifted, the unit becomes neutral.
But I remember from somewhere that in such a case mind-controlled units die, but I'm unsure of the circumstances under which that happened. It might have been RA2, where there wasn't much emphasis on mind-control and related bugs were never fixed because they were never found, unlike in YR.
Becomes Neutral, Hostile Neutral at that if it has a weapon.
If it an infantry hiding in yuri power plant, it dies when the team was defeated.

13:15 that was not the case in YR 1.0 or RA2. There, the MCV becomes yours and you could (un)deploy it. When that happens, the mind-controller is free to mind-control someone else's stuff, as the ConYard/MCV is freed but remains yours.
This was fixed in YR 1.001 (and maybe the RA2 1.006 patch) to disallow deployment and repacking when under mind-control. Though personally, I'd have liked it more if (un)deployment were still possible, but with the link intact. Guess WW didn't bother fixing the actual issue: the mind-control link not carrying over deployment and repacking...
The real issue was actually a bug where if you unpacked the MCV and the controlling unit died during the animation, the conyard would disappear when the animation finished.
At least this was according to the YR 1.1 patch notes.

@@CnCDunecan confirm to this. That’s the real reason why I was surprised that when I installed YR lately, I found out that I can’t deploy / undeploy the MCV / Consyard when I mind controlled it while in my childhood I could do it.

You know the developers put a lot of love, thought, and time into their game when you are still finding out new information like armor crates effecting MCVs every day.
The IFV promotion trick seems like it could be OP in online matches. 3 elite Ifvs can do a lotta damage
they can fix it.
But it is time inefficient and will work only during longer games if You can survive sacrificing founds.
i would say getting a spy into an enemy war factory then leveling up ur tanks the normal way is usually more realistic and easier to pull off
12:50 If you mind control an enemy unit/tank/building and that enemy got surrendered or defeated, and you transfer mind control to others or yuri is dead, the enemy unit becomes white and attacks in random (if infantry/tank), if building (stands still or automatically sold)

3:30 Helipads are buildings first and foremost; they might have docks, but unless a unit explicitly docks with that building, this happens.
You shouldn't have this with Service Depots and Refineries, since they have code to make a row or two of their foundation passable. Note that the only units that can pass through are vehicles, infantry can't. I wonder tho if aircraft can...

@@MoondropSimulacra In TS, definitely yes. In RA2 unit repair was coupled with docking for the Helipad.
But the reason RA2 Aircraft can't land on Depots is because they're AirportBound, meaning they either land on a Helipad declared in their Dock= list, or they'll crash. With some Alt+LMB trickery, they can land in the foundation of buildings.
Insane... I never knew some of that... specially with FP + def building.
I imagine my grand cannon would be OP like oneshot a grizzly...

I actually kinda got crash when I use 4 demos truck + Ivan's bomb on Amphibious to explode in the middle of the enemy base, but only game, not windows LOL
That's not a crash, it is a joke. The game just froze for a second to calculate the chain reaction of explosions because the game is such that explosions that cause other explosions must happen simultaneously without messing with the order of events and since the process of listing which things must explode at that moment takes time, the game freezes for a while.
A system crash could not be recorded with a software working under that system, you can also tell from the spelling errors on the death screen that it is a joke. The blue background is supposed to represent a CRT monitor filmed by a camera, you can notice the wave that moves from top to bottom. The white text is added to that background, compare the pixels to the text and you will notice that a text so small could not be represented with pixels so large in that detail.

Funny thing is though, if you do something similar with super reactors in the 360 version of RA3 (never tried it on the PC). If you destroy two of them so that the rest of them would blow up in a chain, the game will eventually crash.

When you mind-control a unit, then the original owner of that unit gets defeated, then the unit gets released from the mind-control by death of the the mind-controller (or other cause); then what happens to that unit, to what side will it belong? The answer is that it will become neuter with white colour and could attack anybody.

Question at 13:00 - He wants to know what happens if you control the unit of an enemy, but lose mind control after the enemy is defeated.
The answer is the unit becomes neutral. Killed a player with his own prism tanks with a mastermind, the mastermind exploded after the player had been defeated, so since the player was defeated the prism tank could not be reassigned to the player, and instead it became a neutral unit.
I got what he meant after reading a few times xD but I though it would be funny to make a simple joke.

@@DuyLe-oy9xm That's not correct. Neutral units exist - if you are playing a 1v1v1 for example, it definitely exists, I had heroic neutral prism tank defeat a shit ton of my army cause they were on low health.

There is a nice detail I noticed once when playing the game, If you mind control infantry and put them in to Yuris Bio reactor the mind control will be cancelled. When you defeat the enemy of the mind controlled infantry still in the Bio reactor and release them they will become a neutral unit (Grey color)

Yep. I never knew that before. Even the tesla coil with FP upgrade + 3 tesla trooper would be crazy...
As for the oil derricks, you can set a time period(like 10s), take 2 screenshots and check the money difference. Then you can find out how many oil derricks are working.

Programmers perspective on maximum money:
The value of money is likely stored in a 32 bit integer, this means 32 bits (1 or 0) which means the maximum number would be 2,147,483,648. A number near impossible to acquire in the game, were you to acquire it though, there is no telling what would happen per say.
It is also possible that money is store in a 64 bit integer, and this would mean the maximum amount would be 9,223,372,036,854,775,808... Good luck!

I think you maybe could save the units from the explosion of the nuclear reactor if you teleport with Chronosphere a transporter unit then asking them to go inside right away... while also doing the other tricks you did.

Red Alert 2/Yuri's Revenge is problably the most gameplay-wise detailed RTS artifact Westwood has to offer us.
I remember giving the enemy AI an MCV to mind control, and they would deploy it, and start building uncontrollably.

Nuke is more or less a SW spawning a warhead that deals damage at target location, not a building that actually fires a nuke. You might have some luck in TS with the multi-missile and chemical missile tho...
Hrm... Would a firepower crate affect a Hunter-Seeker? Actually, the Hunter-Seeker is it's own unit so I guess it wouldn't.

Regardless, I'm not sure how the damage is delivered, so depending on how that happens, Hunter Seekers might be immune to crate effects.

Also, when a mind controlled unit with passengers gets destroyed, I think the units inside are still yours, not Yuri's.
If you fill a battle fortress with tesla troopers then forcing the battle fortress to attack the ground nearby then moving the battle fortress to the same spot that forced it to attack,the tesla troopers will continue to attack the same spot till the battle fortress is destroyed but make sure tesla troopers are in range on the first step

I had some sort of a "bug" one game. I was using V3 and as it was preparing the launch, I moved the vehicle the opposite direction and the V3 fired on the move at the rocket acted like a Dreadnought missile :D
It's possible to bug out the V3's rocket in this way that the rocket loops, or never hits the ground at all.

The money limit is probably 2.1 billion or 4.2 billion. I bet it's a 32bit integer; 2.1 billion would be if it's a signed integer, 4.2 billion if it's unsigned. If it's signed, going over the limit will make it roll over to negative 2.1 billion. If it's unsigned, it will roll over to 0.

Translation for the question at 12:48: He is asking to use yuri to mind control an enemy unit and eliminate the enemy ai to see what would happen to the mind controlled unit upon release of the mind control, i.e. would it go back to its original AI, would it go rouge, would it die instantly?

I think I managed to decipher the question at 12:50. "What happens to units captured with mind control if the player who owns them is defeated and the unit mind controlling them also dies?" And I have the answer - they are destroyed immediately, I've had this happen to me.
Example: With a Yuri Prime, I capture an enemy's last structure, defeating them. If that Yuri Prime then dies or mind controls something else, that last structure is destroyed.

Lets try a different approach of the unknown
Test any air units coming out of buildings (ie: Kirovs, Rocketeers, helicopters, UFOs),
(Also these ideas must be done b4 the units takeoff, with some exceptional units)
if any Mind Control units/buildings can acquired them,
if Magnetron can lift them,
if Chrono units can stun them,
if Crazy Ivan can plant bombs on them,
hell, what if Chaos Drone can affect them...
Also see if the Chrono unit can stop air units taking off by targeting the War Factory.
Taking note from this at 12:16, the final allied mission on YR, the AI tends to find your stealth Submarines and use the Psychic Dominator on them without no intel on their location.

lol, it's weird when the Yuri's are still controlling the Initiate, but in turn, they're being controlled by another Yuri(via Battle Fortress). The controlled Yuris and the Initiate should at least be in the same control during mind control
Can a battle fortess crush a vehicle thats under it like you lift it with magnetron and drop it on the vehicle?
If the mag lifts ANY unit, and the player orders the mag to stop firing (S), the lifted vehicle will drop on the ground. In your scenario, if you drop (the lifted) BF over another vehicle (any, be it gattling tank or MCV) the BF instantly vanishes, alongside the units inside it. However, the unit below the BF could survive, sometimes it does, other times it does not. The general rule is, the lifted unit insta dies, the unit below, depending on many factors (armour, hp remaining, luck, etc.), might or might not survive. If you lift a flak truck in the air and drop it over a Rhino, the latter will survive (if full hp, obviously).
There is a bug in RA2YR. Order your mag to lift a BF (friend or foe). While the BF is levitating, order your mag to go under the lifted BF. The results vary, but I've witnessed the BF (full hp) get destroyed for a random chunk of the mag's hp bar. Aand yes, I am a Yuri fan.
I think that question you don't understand is like, if you use Yuri control an AI unit, then the AI is defeated and at the same time the Yuri that control the AI unit dies, what will happened.
In my mind, the unit will be neutral.

For the crate if u use the Chrono Legionnair to open it, it's not going to effect on the them. But if u put the Chrono Legionnair near the crate then use other unit to open it. it will effect the Chrono Legionnair. I mean if the Yuri or the red alert version of your is the same as mine. 😄
Oh, I forgot to ask a question: Since a spy is meant to steal 20% of an enemy's cash, if an enemy has literally just $4, $3, $2, or $1 - does the spy steal anything at all?
