    I've done a very similar lining, but I find that if I turn the bag inside out, then slip the lining around it, right side out, it is much easier to sew into place.

    I personally think that you should box the bottom coners and fold neatly the top part lining to avoid the fray thread. Thank you for sharing. Have a good day for everyone out there. ..from Malaysia.

    Lovely bag. Personally I would stitch corners on the lining on either side so the bottom would fit to the corners of the bag. Very easily done. I have made several tote bags for presents with T shirt yarn and they will last for years.

    Thanks for the tutorial! Could you iron the fold at the top before sewing into the bag so it's less cumbersome and you have a precise edge to sew evenly from?

    • @CraftwithJess

    If you box the lining it would fit better because your bag has some depth.

      It’s a way you can create some shape and volume to a basic bag or lining. There are many tutorials online. It’s easy to do. I love your bag. Maybe you can show us how you made it!

    • @CraftwithJess
      @CraftwithJess  Před 5 lety +1

      I do! Mine is the Singer Simple and it is just that, a simple heavy duty sewing machine that is good for pretty much everything. I paid around $100 and have been sewing all kinds of stuff for about 3 years now with it.

    What is that sticky (white) interfacing material you used? And where did you buy it?

    • @CraftwithJess
      @CraftwithJess  Před 5 lety

      That is called iron on interfacing. I got it from a fabric store where I live in Italy. You can get it at craft stores or ask your local fabric store for it and they may sell it by the meter as did mine.

    • @CraftwithJess
      @CraftwithJess  Před 4 lety

      Hi! I remember just stuffing the fabric in the bag flat on the bottom then I left an inch at the top or so for the fold over. It didn't measure it exactly.

    What sewing machine are you using pls

    • @CraftwithJess
      @CraftwithJess  Před rokem

      The one I used for this tutorial was a Singer Simple - it cost me $99 because I got it on sale. I’ve found that basic sewing machines always get the job done, no need for anything fancy! If you really get into sewing then you’d want to get a machine that is heavy and has more stitch options to be able to work with thicker materials.
