  • McGregor 25cm Cordless Grass Strimmer with 2 Batteries - 18V
    About this product
This McGregor 18V 25cm grass trimmer is ideal for cutting fine to coarse grass - anywhere. With 2 batteries, you can use one while the other charges, meaning you'll never run out of power. This is a 3-in-1 grass trimmer; change the angle of the cutting head to enable you to edge your lawn, trim your grass and reach under objects such as benches and trampolines. This grass trimmer has been designed with comfort in mind, featuring an adjustable front handle and telescopic shaft to adjust the trimmer to suit your height.
Being cordless, you can cut anywhere - even at the allotment. Includes a 3-hour charger and 2x 18V 2.0aH batteries. For uninterrupted and worry-free trimming, the auto feed spool system extends the cutting line, should the cable snap, no need to adjust manually. The flower guard allows you to cut right up to the edge of your garden while protecting your flowers and plants.
At 18V and 25cm wide this is suitable for fine, or coarse grass. If you wish to cut thicker, denser grass we recommend a motor of 36V or above. We do not recommend this product if you want to cut brambles. All McGregor Garden Power and Pressure Washer Products include a 2-year guarantee.
    Model number: MCT2X1825.

I also just purchased this exact model today from Argos. I was at the cemetery today visiting my Dad & the grass was way overgrown & there was another guy at the cemetery who I've seen before & he kindly let me borrow the strimmer to cut the grass to which it did effortlessly. He did mention the strimmer did 3 cemetery plots including mine on the one single battery. Amazing. I was sold there & then, when I got home I purchased this strimmer straightaway from Argos with the 2 batteries. Thank you to the gentleman today at the cemetery & also thank you for your great review.

Do you have difficulty changing the angle of the motor head?
Standing on the plastic guard, as recommended, will only break the plastic guard.

I've had one of these for a few years, perfect for the allotment because of the 2 batteries, would highly recommend. As I'm quite short I find the adjustable height very useful.

Great video thank you. I very nearly bought a worx twin battery one which was £120 then I also saw on Argos website that they had these on offer at £65 and it was a no brainer really after watching your video. Hopefully it's getting delivered tonight. So you'll know what I'll be doing tomorrow!

I bought one with the cable. Great strimmer but for me got a bit heavy after using it for a good while. If the tube could be altered to be more angled and less straight that would help. Other than that mine never faulted once during use. Thank you for the review video. 🤗

Ray I bought a strimmer from b and q three years ago.
    It's the ..fpgt18l1 2 model
Weight without battery is 1.40 kg.
And battery weighs 0.385 kg. Overall weight nothing nice and light.
Trouble I need to get a second battery as I only got one battery with this streamer which is a pain. Takes 3 to 5 hours to charge.
Has the same features as your ray extension arm to make longer or shorter depending on the size of person. Has Head tilt has as fixed grip the strimmer cord lasts for ever I'm still on the same spool that came with the strimmer. Overall more than happy great bit of kit for down my plots. Great review ray all the best take care.

Looks good Ray. I'm still using my Black & Decker Strimmer. I had to buy a new battery a few weeks ago as I lost the old one, and as soon as the new one arrived I found the old one under the car seat LOL
Might be worth pointing out that with auto line feed strimmers like the McGregor, it is better to keep your finger on the trigger for as long as possible rather than on and offing it all the time. Every time the trigger is squeezed the line feeds and the line blade cuts off a centimetre of so - a waste of line if the line is still the full length. Hope this helps.

Great video. Mine, however, came out of the box with the motor/guard area at a different angle to yours. When fully assembled, the guard is pointing upwards, rather than flat against the ground, and I can't understand how to adjust the angle. The intersection between the blue plastic of the handle and the green plastic of the bottom section is very stiff and not moveable at all. Any advice would be very appreciated!

I noticed at around 9:47 you did not manage to rotate the angle of the cutting head with your hand. Neither could I. The instructions recommend standing on the plastic guard to change the angle. Have you had this problem?

I have used this strimmer for couple of years and will be buying a more effective one. They put two batteries because it just not powerful enough to do a good job . If you can afford it buy a better strimmer.
