The possum was used to get 1 more summon so that the opponent can use nibru to clear the two monster so that the vw player can use fusion destiny, another vw card.
I still remember Playful Possum popping off in Meklords in War of the Worthless

You KNOW I'm here for Leah's meme decks that often are VW but slightly worse.
7:50 idk about Blaze accelerator reload, but this replay made playing 3 scattershot in Tear look extremely real.
Maybe you could play a small frog package (just swap and ronin) to enable going into Gigantic when your Tear plays aren't online (or to start them by discarding from hand) to summon scattershot from deck. Then Masq becomes an opponent's turn raigeki + burn.
only vtubers are capable of these things.

Dustin with the based deck, and idk where DuelLogs got a toddler to duel against but good for them that Manticore top deck into hard summon hilarious.
You know what, I used to hate VW cause if residual trauma from early MD. But if someone knows the deck well enough to use tech like this, then they clearly like it genuinely. And I can't hate that.
I guess the possum is to get an Earth in grave for some VW stuff I can't fathom? No other thing besides funny 1 off really makes sense.
