Hello, I am a physiotherapist from Syria, in the Middle East, I liked your words very much, I searched a lot until I found your explanation of the idea, it was excellent, thank you.
Thank you for this video, I’m pretty fit and work out regularly. I injured my abs badly and was out of training for a couple of months and developed this popping, clicking sound and it’s been on and off for the past month. After one session of this I woke up this morning to no popping!!!
Thank you so much! I will be doing this a few times a week from now on :)
Can’t wait to get started!
I kid you not.. This is by far the best explanation of my symptoms and clearly the best video I have come across in the 3 years I've had this popping clicking and pain. Your excerises are well demonstrated and to the point. Thank you so much for sharing this video. 🙏

Your video has helped me so much. Being somewhat dramatic with regard to health issues, I was worried that my popping was a sign of some deadly cancer that had advanced to my spine. But you explained this and now I know that it is the product of me not doing my “regular routine” at the gym. After doing your exercises, I am already experiencing less popping. Thank you for your great info and for taking the time to impart this info to all of us.

This channel is a true informative blessing! Thank you so much Melanie!
*Question:* Are you planning on making videos about the upper back? I've seen you have covered a few shoulder common problems, but I often get very tight muscles near the spine, between the shoulders (mostly on my right side, I'm right handed), even with regular physio visits. Those knots keep coming back and hurt a lot :(
I've started practicing yoga in the beginning of quarantine, back in 2020, and sometimes feels better but maybe there's any posture I could do more often to improve my upper back? Thanks, big hugs from Spain!
Certainly those area are classified under shoulder in my playlist :) give those exercises a go :) 😉 good luck
@@MelThePhysio I will! thank you 🥰
You do the crab walk so well you might need the fire department to put a fire out back there. Too bad I am not a firefighter. Great video you reminded me that I was not doing some of the exercises I was taught. The popping is driving me crazy. You are beautiful and full of energy, love it!
Thanks really for this, ive found little information on this. It would help if you explain what each of these excercises do exactly because i dont understand the purpose of the lat excercises
Your videos are very informative and interesting, you gained another sub! Thank you for your work!
A few months into weight lifting my right elbow started popping/clicking during pushups, it doesn't hurt but it's there during every rep. Is this something to worry about? It doesn't matter how I do pushups, fast or slow, iclined or normal, wide or narrow, it just pops.
It’s the same theory but a different location :) I could be from the joint or could indicate that a muscle tightness and may be rubbing and causing friction over portions of the bone :)
Hi Melanie! My ankles pops and clicks on the exterior side, I have to slightly rotate them to make everything fall back into place. Would appreciate a video on that! I already applied the stretches for the hip and it worked like a charm! Amazing videos!

That’s a great idea actually I’ve never thought of that :) I’ll just have to check it with our licensing board first …😖unfortunately the board for physiotherapy is so strict here there is limited online stuff that we can do legally.
Thanks for the great suggestion though will definitely look into it :)

First of all congratulations!!!We do have a playlist for pregnancy do check them out :) good luck hope it would help :)
thankyou for the exercise , i will try it after my resistance band will be coming.
it's been more than 2 week since I have tight groin and pain on one side which lead to weird crampy pain on the side of back where there was groin tightness .
whenever I lay down straight on my back that side of my back feels cramped and painful and snaps by itself ( but the snapping feels like that of muscle i am sure if it)
i have recently got my spine xray it say that i have sacralisation in L5 of my vertebrae.
I also have a lot of snapping and popping of my back but it's not painful. guess my back and groin muscles are weakened ..i am only 20 and i feel so bad that i am having all these problems at this age 😢.
I hope this exercise helps thanks a lot again .god bless you ✨
Thank you!!
Hopefully this is it! The popping on my right side doesn't hurt, but it's so annoying when it pops on the way down from lifting my knee up.
The popping is also much stronger after I play basketball, with my right hip flexor being in pain (not sure if they're related).
My hips are also uneven with my right leg being around 10mm shorter, so hopefully this can help too
Thanks again for all the content!
I hope you find relief from the view too 🤞🏻
Really this sitting works are making our body lose its worth ,me being an 18 having poping sounds ,really gonna try these thanks for help 🙂
How often should we do this circuit? Should it be done daily? Also how soon can we expect the popping to go away? Thank you for this amazing video and your others as well ❤
All these a very good questions but it really depends on each individual 🥰
Let's GO!
These are all advanced for my condition. Gave the first one a try with the lightest band I have and now my right lower back is inflamed and has two huge knots that’s going to take a few months to go away.
Thank you - great video. Should all of these exercises be done as part of a single 'workout'? What I mean is, do all of them have their own individual and specific benefits, or are some of the easier ones not worth doing if the person is capable of the harder ones ?
They can be done together :) if it’s easy which shouldn’t be as you can always up the resistance to the level that suits you :)
This is amazing. I've had this issue for years now and I never understood why. Thank you! For me, this only happens when I lower my left leg so there's probably muscle imbalance there. I find it difficult to sometimes fire up my left glute and really feel any burn. Any tips?

Hi.
Important question: can i do these exercises everyday?
If not, how many times a week can i do them?
Waiting for reply, thank you.
It is going to be a little long, I hope you can bear with me. Exactly a year ago, when I was lifting my heavy blanket, I felt pain in my lower back. Then, I tried to do some yoga stuff to help relieve the pain. It did not work and it only got worse. Then, I wanted to take a shower thinking that a nice hot shower would maybe help. I got into the shower, sat down on the floor as I suddenly had a very sharp pain. Then, something happened in my left lower back, exactly in the line where my waist dimples are - the feeling of bubbles. I do not know how to explain this feeling really but it was as if there was a bubble on my left lower back and it went to my core as a line while multiplying. Then, very sharp pain again so I changed my mind about taking a shower and got up. The pain was so bad that when I reached out for my towel, my vision went all black, and then I passed out and hit my head on the floor. I woke up and got up but it was still so bad that I passed out again and I was in another place in the room when I woke up and didn't even remember getting there. The pain was as if somebody was pulling me down from my waist. Then, we called an ambulance as I was screaming with pain whenever I moved. I was screaming whenever the ambulance was on a bump on the road. When we arrived at the ER, they asked some questions and sent me to MRI. After seeing the results they said I had sore muscle or something like that. Well, duh. They prescribed me some muscle relaxers. I did not move much for a week or so and I gradually got better. The area still aches sometimes and it pops every day. And I have the need to pop/click it because then there's an uncomfortable and painful feeling in my core. The way it pops/clicks is like this: I lift my upper body up with my arms when I am sitting on a chair and then let my lower body go down, then it clicks. It's kind of like this person but my arms are next to my butt: blog.mapmyrun.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/A-Runner%E2%80%99s-No-Equipment-Upper-Body-Workout.jpg
What do you think my problem is? And should I worry about this? I feel like I should. Would doing your exercises help it? Thank you in advance!

This video is so helpful! Same with the hip flexibility one; thank you so much! I find that when I do air bicycle for abs, my middle - upper back (?) always feels uncomfortable - am I doing something wrong????
Either the technique could be off or that exercise could be too hard for your postural muscles to handle :)
@@MelThePhysio Thank you so much! I shall modify those exercises ASAP!
Every time I do clamshells on my left, I feel more activation on my quads and hip flexors. My adductors/groin area also typically always feel tight.
Ohhh might be the technique that you are doing it then u are not firing the right muscles :)
Thanks I'm gonna try the exercises. My back pops, but it also hurts 😂
Melanie, can you make a video on isometric training for fast twitch fibers
Look up 'overcoming isometrics' i.e exerting max effort force against an immovable object.
These exercises will help build muscles to support the hip bones, however how about ligaments which supposedly may have weakened or lost elasticity.. do they become tighter/stronger? Not sure whether it would be accurate to say that these exercises or others actually restore ligament strength/elasticity. I've been sleeping on a hard surface for sometime which I've found comfortable though recently developed lower back pain. I'm thinking that could be related to the hard surface that the back of my hip has been resting on for a long time, though not sure.
Thank you Melanie, my right Si joint is out of place at the moment and my right hip is elevated. I also suffer from hip bursitis. I would like to do these exercises to help my popping back/SI but I worry I will set off my bursitis. Would it be better to do these without the resistance bands? Thanks
They are two seperate problem but still closely related :) depends on your symptoms and how you are doing the exercise it’s hard to give specific advice unless we have fully assessed your condition :)

I have a question- I have quite a lot of hypermobility especially in my knees. I have to be careful of anything that puts pressure through the sides of the joints
(I can often hurt my MCL / ACL). I think having a resistance band positioned next to my knee joints like in these exercise could easily put pressure the wrong way. Do you have any suggestions for this please?
Very grateful for this video because I have had this problem for years. I have asked multiple physios what was going on and never got an explanation. You explain it very clearly - thank you very much!
Absolutely can modify it you can just put the resistance band above your knees :) not on it or underneath it :)

Can I doing lower back exercises every day
Hi Mel! I have a challenge and can’t seem to find any info on it. I have a literal “catch” in my lower left hip/back. When I need to bend over for work or to pick up something I sometimes get caught as I start to raise up and I literally cannot raise up until I maneuver or twist until something in that area goes back into place. That area stays constantly sore and somewhat painful most of the time. I’ve started doing floor stretches and side leg lifts, sit-ups, and reverse sit-ups and things have improved but when the “catch” happens again, I’m right back where I start with the pain and more catching when I bend over. I’m 67, male, 6’2” and an active and healthy 280Ibs.
How many times per week must I do this? Will the popping stop? Can there be popping only on one side of yout back. I just experience it on my one side if I extend my leg if I lay on my back.
Hey melanie! New subcriber 😊
I have a very curious question
Can one have an si joint dyfunction or si joint stability? Without any physical examination test sign being shown positive?
Or can si joint ligament laxity be undiagnosed?
Because i have all the symptoms of an si joint dysfunction.
I have aching around my si joint, i have aching around glutes medius, and if i sit down for too long aching can increase
If i increase my daily activities, the aching will increase.
Even from time to time my do feel clicks/pops in my si joint area
If i jerk and skip on my right leg, which is my affected side i feel like an almost sprain feeling. When i do "Child's pose" stretches i feel tightness and stretched feeling around that si joint area.
But my physical therapist did si joint dysfunction tests on me, it showed no sign of positiveness
So i'm very confused
Can i deteremine i have si joint dysfunction, without relying on the physical examination test since all the symptoms above i mentioned links directly to si joint dysfuntion.have a very curious question

Hi hi! Thanks for subscribing, generally I do 6 test to rule out SIJ if it all comes back negative then most likely it’s not SIJ problem. Might be lower back or hip issues etc. A lot of different medical issues have similar symptoms hence it’s hard to do diagnosis sometimes :) but if you are concern do get a second opinion :)
Is this the same as with lumbar instsbility
If it is painful how likely is it to be facet joint fracture?
My lower back bone sometimes gives poping sound when I used sitting by the support from less than 90 degree angle
8:00 most valuable part.. 👌
Can the seated hip abduction machines you find at the gym be sufficient in place of the method you showed with the theraband?
Yes it is sufficient :)
Can I continue working out while doing these or should I take a break and do this stuff until it stops, my hips and lower back kinda pop fairly often when I walk although it varies (I think on how tired the surrounding muscles are). It’s painless but is just annoying. From what I’ve seen the main stuff I should focus on is building core strength and hit mobility.
I would suggest modify the exercises so you are still training the same muscle group without aggravating the joints :)

I have a popping problem, but with my wrists. At some point they started popping within my normal range of motion (actually only very small movements don't cause it). Should I be concerned about that?
Depends really :)

So I have very strong glutes and lower back but still feel a pop when I fully extend on leg lifts or raises. Is there something else causing this?
Are you sure it’s clicking at the back not the front?

Yes, flexible joints and muscles can result in too much movement without necessary stability.
Is it ok to jog(no running) everyday...?? Just jogging
Depends on the actual cause of it :)
Hi melanie, thanks for this video. I feel the popping in the point where the spine meets the sacrum, not so much in the sacro iliac joint, but higher. When i do triangle pose or side angle, any pose that has external rotation on one hip and internal rot or abduction on the other. And it happens as many times as i care to adjust the pose, so it is not the sinovial fluid releasing gas. Its not painful but its audible and its always there. What could it be?
Hi Caroline, it’s very hard to diagnose a problem just with that information :)
