Sean - can I pick your brain on basemaps for the monorail project? I’ve recently purchased TransDEM and can never produce a result with adequate resolution to accurately place the beamways. Similarly, I am struggling with aligning the various Google Earth images of the property when employing that method. Lol
I did the base maps about 4 years ago. Someone on the download station had one that was scaled to exactly 1 square kilometer, so I went on google earth & painstakingly drew about 200 square kilometers & drew where the bottom of each beam pylon was. I screenshotted each one when plugged into my HD monitor, so I believe each one is about 1024x1024 to match Trainz’s specs for textures
@@Monorail_Central Ouch. With the advances in GIS technology in recent years I’ve come across alternative methods that don’t require 24 hours of free time, lol. Thank you for your response, I appreciate the insight
I tried running tests, and whenever I run all the monorails on a spline simultaneously, the frame rate drops nearly by half or more. How have you optimized the monorail trams so they don't use up the frame rate when not visable or from a distance?
I prefer to run them all on a spline, but I may have to preanimate the monorail trams in blender and then import them into the engine so the tram's frame rate will decrease based on distance to the player. I prefer keeping it on a spline if I am able to optimize it. Thoughts?
I haven’t had that issue before. I know you can add spline points to existing splines if that will help. A lot of these issues are better answered on the Trainz Forums

No release plans at this time
Will the project eventually be available for download?
Eventually. Date is uncertain. I’ve been working on it for years, plus a lot of what’s in here was the work of other creators that I cannot distribute without their consent. I have been unable to contact them in recent years, not sure if they are still active in the Trainz community

what game is this because i need it now
Trainz Railroad Simulator 2019. The monorails are a downloadable asset that date back to the 2004 version of the game. The ones available for download are not modified to the extent that I have done here
Disney will NEVER expand the monorail, because financially it doesn't make sense..The skyliner is how they've chosen to go into the future
Let's hope they get some air conditioning in those things
