- Pat Sajak took his final spin as host of "Wheel of Fortune." Sajak has hosted the popular game show for over 40 years. Before Sajak started hosting "Wheel of Fortune," he was a popular weatherman in Los Angeles. He is renowned for his comforting demeanor and quick wit. By his side all of these years was the glorious Vanna White. She was moved to tears paying tribute to her TV partner. Now, after 41 years and 8,000 episodes, Sajak is ready to retire.
That was always on when my Nanny was making dinner and Pa was coming in the door from work. Gave me a sense of security to hear it on in the background.

Same at my grandmother's place too, every time we'd go visit and she'd be cooking, she'd have on Wheel of Fortune in the background.
My mother used to throw sponge bricks at the TV when that show came on

Almost saddens me because most of the younger generation have no idea how iconic these game shows were in America for so many years. Thank you for the memories

I’ve seen wheel of fortune since childhood and it’s unfortunate to see an iconic game show going away.

Man, the memories. I have this one from when I was in 4th grade, where the teacher would play episodes of Wheel of Fortune on our little CRTV while we ate lunch in the classroom.

I read Vanna’s autobiography back in the late 80s. Good read if you can get a copy. Tragic loss of her fiance and also her mother passed when Vanna was still pretty young, and they were close.

I littterally grew up on him . I loved Wheel Of Fortune as a kid . This was litterally my whole childhood
I'm still going to miss seeing Pat Sajak and Vanna White coming onto the set when Jim Thornton introduces them(Charlie O'Donnell's announcements were still great. RIP), Pat Sajak talking with the contestants and making them laugh, seeing Pat Sajak and Vanna White eating different foods from other countries and states for the Great Cities Week and Around the World Week episodes, etc. ☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️

He hosted Wheel of Fortune for 43 years from 1981-2024. 41 years on Syndication and 8 seasons on the daytime version from 1981-1989 on NBC and 6 years while hosting both Daytime (NBC) and Nightime (syndication) version.

My dad worked in his house in the early 90s and talked to him a bit. Got to know him well enough that when he worked in another house across the way, Pat stopped his lawnmower and went over to say hi.
Wow, that is a truly remarkable achievement to last that many years.... seriously!
❤The end of a true Era, Bob Barker left first, then the passing away, then the passing of Alex Trebek, now Pat Sajak leaving Wheel of Fortune to me it’s very hard to replace icons like them. Pat is one of the best person he is funny, kind, loving, he’s constantly confident and much more! Pat is one of my favorite person, but seeing him go is really, really, sad😢. At home my parents/grandma & papa used to try to guess the word, whenever that show is on with the new person I will remember pat as the great person that leaded the show. Thank you pat for being in my life I had really great memories of you. And I’m really thankful for you! Please when you have a chance, you should make an episode where you say hi to all of the ppl that supported you. We all support you pat

When I was a kid, I used to watch this show on Channel 8 in Panama, when the U.S. forces were stationed within the country. It really marked an era.
Despite not understanding a single word because I didn't speak english at the time, it was quite fun to watch even as a kid.

Wheel of Fortune is still played? on TV in NYC and El Bronx it's nostalgic and a little goated. ❤️
