  • In cooperation with SPE - ASOIU, Universal Petroleum Training and Consultancy Solutions had delivered a great session by Eng. Mustafa Adel about "Well Integrity Management".
    Mustafa Adel Amer is a senior Petroleum Engineer and natural gas analyst with 9 years of experience in the upstream Oil and Gas sector mainly in production technology, managing gas assets, managing well integrity, natural gas long term forecasting, and research methane emissions. Led, developed and contributed to projects that increased operational efficiency, restructured work processes, protected the environment.
    Mustafa holds two master’s degrees in Petroleum Engineering from Aberdeen University and Innovation Management from Cambridge University.

    Thank you for great presentation... dhsv is not a barrier during flowing. But primary barrier if close.

    1 more comment.. for SV you gave it low criticality.. but in fact it is high critical because while production if SV is passing you will end up with 1 barrier which is Tree cap.. high risk situation due to visible leak .. thank you

    In slide barrier philosophy B well has two active barriers one is SCSSV & other is X-mass tree master valve but fluid is not barrier if it is live. moreover, it will become primary barrier in killed condition.

    Good Job... I want to know, during the operation of the well test eruptivity how does the collapse of the tubing occur and how to avoid it?

    • @petroleumtrainingandconsul9300
      @petroleumtrainingandconsul9300  Před 2 lety +1

      During a production test, the pressure inside he tubing is decreased as the flowing BHP is much lower most of time than the static one. On the other hand, the pressure on the annulus A side would continue to increase as long as the annulus is closed and this increase will be mainly due to thermal expansion which will increase by increasing flow rate (Higher flowing temperature profile).
      So here are some tips on how to keep operating in safe conditions during a well test:
      ~~ Keep monitoring the annulus pressure and bleed off if required when it reaches to a certain value below the MAASP (commonly 80 % of the MAASP would trigger the need for annulus pressure unloading)
      ~~The common practice is to design the tubing string with the assumption that the inside of the tubing is empty while calculating the MAASP according to tubing collapse.
      ~~ The actual brine weight inside the annulus should be the one used for MAASP calculation.
