I admit it's 2019 and I'm just now watching this since I'm researching a cheaper alternative to my dermablend flawless creator drops and I'm finding that the nyx cover drops and the cant stop wont stop foundation are amazing and affordable and can actually be used by those prone to breakouts!!! Yay!! I'm going to try both of them! I was sleeping on this brand but not anymore!
Y’all she ain’t lying!!! I have been using this too and I love it! She is right, it is a bit drying and it doesn’t really transfer. I would definitely recommend this foundation as well!

Thumbs up for doing just a simple look. Most people do concealer blush contour powder and highlight and I'm like but how did the foundation hold up without all that!! I don't do a night out look just to go to work so thanks for keeping it simple

CKey I just bought it today but haven’t worn it yet. Will wear it tomorrow so since you wore it to church in a high service I see this is a great worship proof foundation which is awesome because I sing on the praise team at church and always need a good matte foundation and matte lippie. I have very oily skin and I’ve tried and have been using this foundation. It do comes off and transfers onto my clothes even though I used a oil free moisturizer , primer and a setting spray and I have very sensitive skin.However I’ve bought and been using the Laura Mercier
translucent powder and it’s really stays on for hours. This foundation give a smooth finish. I do love this foundation and found my perfect shade that blends very well!
This is one of my favorite foundations right now and it doesn't settle into my smile likes. I stay oil free pretty much all day

Thanks for the review! 😊 I, too, struggled with finding my correct shade. The pics of the women associated with each shade are super misleading IMO. I initially bought Cappuccino, but it ended up being a bit dark. I went back to Ulta, exchanged it for Warm Caramel, & got a match! The foundation looks so good on you. 👍🏾

Omg I so love your personality. I tried the foundation for the first time yesterday and u are so right about everything u said. It's a good foundation but it does make u feel extra dry but it lasts hours and still looks good. I went out last night and when I came in (I know this is a no no) but i fell asleep and didn't wash my face, I woke up five hours later and my makeup was still in tact, a little oily around the nose but that was it, I was so surprised because I knew it would be all over my pillow but it wasn't.
Thank you so much for a thorough and well informed review CKey. Most people think 5 hours is ok but my days can run to 13 hours and with my oily skin that means my foundation is mostly gone by 4, especially across my nose. I’ve tried NYX foundations in the past, both lotion and powder, and they’ve always made me look like I’m melting like Wonka’s chocolate palace! I’ve tried them with shine killer primer and the mattifying setting spray and it was worse. I’m currently using The Ordinary, which is pretty good for the price, but I need something that lasts and mattify for longer. I’ll give this foundation a go though, it seems like it’s matt on purpose and all day! Thanks again.

I have dry combo skin and everything you explained about the dryness is true! I tried this foundation with three different hydrating primers--Hangover, KVD and ELF. They all helped with the initial application and for the first few hours it looked beautiful. But after that, it felt like the foundation had drank up all the moisture in my face and it felt really uncomfortable. My skin looked reallll thirsty lol Dry skin folks approach with caution.

Thank you for showing the swatches of the other shades you were considering. I have one more question though: could you explain why you eliminated each of the other four shades for example X shade was too red, light, ashy, right undertone but too dark etc. that would help those of us close to you but not exact matches. it’s also fun to learn of the nuances ☺️ this vid was very helpful though!!
Thanks so much. I didn't buy all of the foundations so I wasn't able to go into detail about each color I just remembered it didn't work lol, but you can look at the swatches on my hand and see the undertones of each of swatched. Hope that helps :)
@@CkeyBeauty if you see this could you maybe at least say why you picked Sienna over Cappuccino because on your hand and like the 2:59 / 3-minute mark they look like the same color and almost same undertone. Thx.

EC DC I went and swatches myself and I think Sienna is more neutral but also has more red whereas cappuccino had more yellow olive (mixed with a bit of red).
Listen. Those swatches got me too sis. I bought Nutmeg originally after an hour in Ulta. Got it home and it was too light. So nice to know I wasn't the only one! 🤦🏾♀️😂
I wish there was a NYX store near me so I could get matched. I've been rotating between CoverFX Power Play Foundation and the Maybelline Fit Me Dewy & Smooth Foundation. I LOVE that you said 'when your oils break down, transfer is inevitable.' I thought I was the only one that realized that. It's starting to seem like a general claim every foundation line is making and it's not true. My t-zone gets oily no matter what I have on, matte foundation, powder, setting spray. I LOVE how this looks on you. I appreciate the check-ins throughout the day.
Thank you Ckey for your honest review. I heard about this foundation and heard it was very matte. I am an oily skin type. But I do enjoy some moisture in my skin. I have a great hydrating primer from ELF. I'm probably going to purchase this product.

I have combo skin. I swatched it on my arm in Ulta. I thought nutmeg was my color so I bought it and took it home but it was to light. Cappuccino seemed to red so I ended up with Sienna. I think nutmeg might be my winter color, so I kept it. I also used Elf hydrating primer on my dry areas. I also use the Maybelline instant Age Rewind concealer in tan. My Coloring is similar to you beautiful C key.

First of all I'm from germany quite a light shade but girl, i freaking love your reviews!! They help so much ❤️❤️ WowxD for me it did not oxidize unfortunately ... I picked the one with the best undertone prescription because we don't have it in store yet... And i look like a ghost... And the next light shade with pink undertone looks like 5 shades darker :/ and i tried it today at work. For me it's not full coverage at all and it didn't lasted long :/ i was a bit disappointed... But i will try further and mix it with another foundation and hope the best 😁

you are the only one I've watched correctly match themselves with this foundation. Everyone else the shade looked off somehow. The thing is Ulta allowed Platinum and Diamonds to order this before anyone else one day and everyone wanted to review it first so they jumped the gun and ordered what they thought would be a good match. I had decided to not even try it lol Now I might just do the swatch and dry game.

I did the same thing in Ulta. I went between deep cool, cocoa, walnut and mocha... mocha won. Love it. Today is my first day and I didn’t use a primer nor corrector. I did set with powder out of habit. I will let you know.

I have Dry skin and I just mix a couple of drops of Grapeseed Oil into my First Aid Beauty Moisturizer then I apply the Baby Skin Primer over it.
It all seemed a bit Oily at first but once i laid this Foundation over it, it was perfect.
Dry skins can wear this Foundation but gotta Moisturize well beforehand 👍
I picked Mocha because I’d rather go darker than lighter, but sienna was way too yellow and mocha was slightly too red. A shade in between would have been nice but I’m still loving mocha
According to the website, it looks like Deep Sable is the one in between Mocha and Sienna :)

I use skindinavia finishing spray. I work 14hr shifts in makeup & its never on my glasses.

Sienna had the perfect amount of olive, but it oxidized a tad too dark on me and my hubby said my face looked slightly dirty so I returned it. I kept Cappuccino because even though it’s a tad orange, when mixed with NYX olive foundation fixer it’s perfect. Coverage, finish, and oil control are A+++ for me!

I found mine (nutmeg) and matching concealer at Nordstrom Rack for $15. Just a heads up if you cannot find the shade you want at Ulta. I am a younger looking 50 something but still extremely oily. I received a ton of compliments re: this foundation and not much shine. Actually prefer it to the new Becca long wear formula (RIP Ultimate Coverage Cream in tobacco, my previous perfect match). Though on the higher end price range for drugstore makeup, this NYX is half the price of the Becca foundation.

And that is great advice on definitely do not go by the undertone descriptions because Nutmeg is described as having a cool undertone on the site but in reality it's super olive.

I’ve tried this and love it but I def get that drying effect but the coverage alone makes me forget that. But I will say if you try this with the can’t stop won’t stop primer, omg dryyyyyyyyyy lol. I would only say used it with the primer in your t zone or most oily areas. Its def a matte foundation, and it last longer than most matte foundations. Def worth a try.
