Fun fact: Your version of dolma is called "liar" because it doesn't have any ground meat in it.
YEP! I forgot the word for liar though :/
WAY AWAY "yalanci dolma"))
In my language “liar” means wild, uncontrollable, illegal, hype
I never realized that Cyprus was divided into a Turkish side and a Greek side. Fascinating, can't wait to learn more about that. Cooking classes can be such a great way to experience the culture of the place your visiting, since food is always such a great representation of the culture and environment. Loved this!
We are learning so much. Its super interesting. I love learning the history and current "events" when in a country. This one stands out as being one of the most interesting. -Ash
CYPRUS IS GREEK🇨🇾🇬🇷
ΚΥΠΡΟΣ ΓΗ ΕΛΛΗΝΙΚΗ
LeggLife There is no Turkish side . Cyprus is just Cyprus, which unfortunately for us is held after the war from Turkey , and took our homes . Both sides are Cyprus.
Mel Corleone's yes turkey came to save the Turkish Cypriots because for many years up until 1974 they were getting killed none stop by the Greeks hence why turkey wasn’t stopped by anyone so you think of the UK and the USA had a problem with it they would have stopped it but they were sick of the Cyprus problem being you idiots wanted to join with Greece and forget what that would have meant for the Turkish Cypriots I and glad Cyprus is 2 😊😊😊😊
Awe, what a fun day! and that dish you made looked delicious. Josh I enjoy when you give us history facts.
:D It was all SO yummy! And we love sharing at least some of the history that makes up the culture. We don't pretend to know or understand all, but it's a step. /J
So great seeing you guys doing food content. Looked really tasty and really interesting! Really interesting about the gate and the boarder also. Loved all the swimming scenes too! - Thomas
Ahh Thanks guys.:) We had a full busy day. You two should do some cooking classes. I would love to see that. I love the learning aspect. -Ash
It's so amazing that you guys came to Cyprus for your travels !! I hope you had time to come to Famagusta (east cost in the north) as well ! We actually have a castle here called Othello which was Shakespeare's inspiration for his play. And Salamis Ancient City Ruins are incredible ! You guys should have dived there instead to see the city remains under the water. Anyways it was really refreshing to see you guys enjoying the whole of Cyprus ! I hope you had marvellous time here :))
Fun fact (due to you guys making Dolma (stuffed leaves)): In Turkey & Cyprus they have bus services which are called Dolmus (pr dolmoosh, basically shared taxi) however the name derives from 'stuffed' due to habit of filling them as much as possible before commencing a journey.
Travelling by Dolmus is fun but can be confusing.
Oh my goodness how funny. What a cute name IMO.:) But a stuffed bus does not make for a comfy bus haha-ASH
All the dishes look delicious 😋 Afiyet Olsun ✌️
😋 oh they were! They're all gone now though. /J
Greek food is the best food.
outatis ater Turkish food.
I've been to southern Cyprus a ton of times but have yet to venture to the North, really loving your vlogs, really great to learn a bit of history too. That food looked so lovely!!! xx

And, perhaps my mouth was watering when looking at those dishes...
I was so excited to go down those slides. We went down a few others but didn't record. So much fun to have a water park as part of your hotel.:)

Y. U. M.!! All about cooking, and earing😛😛Delicious and nutritious🤓🤓Fun and motivational vlog. Damn, I have to get up and fix something now. Thx you two🤓❤️❤️👩🏻🍳👨🏼🍳
Pahaha Sorry we made you so hungry. -Ash
I enjoyed meeting your Cypriot friends!
It was amazing to get to hang out with locals. My favorite thing to do while traveling. -Ash
Oh my god some of these comments are just nasty, bruh, every culture adopts specific foods, traditions etc from other cultures, that’s just cultural evolution, both Cypriots (Greek and Turkish) have Levantine routes and share cultures and foods with one another, the only thing that both cypriots do not share is religious ideologies. I’d like to add cyprus is not turkeys or Greece’s. Cyprus is the Cypriots and we should be proud of that, we no longer bare the resemblance of our motherlands, we are a unique and eclectic community of people.oh also it’s lovely to see people traveling to Cyprus and learning about it. Amazing to see
so nice video really i like it 3 times i go to cyprus befor i so love foods there 👍🏼
that food looks so good!!!😋😋😋😋
It was super fresh and yummy. I was so proud of what we did. -Ash
Not a comment about this specific vlog episode. I am on up to this episode but am really happy you guys are not struggling to pay for your travel adventures quite as much. I do miss, however, seeing you guys find the cheap ways to travel. The nice rooms, rentals, and costly adventures are out of the reach of many of us. I liked seeing people having fun on only a few dollars a day. But again, I am happy that you guys get to have all these wonderful experiences.
Oh don't worry, we are still fighting over here! :p But it is nice to get treated once in a while. ;)
Actually it is "sarma" which means "wrap something around", "dolma" means "stuff something in". I guess Turks tougth Cyproiten this food's name wrongly :)
We may have just got it wrong. Our language skills are subpar but we're trying. -Ash
Αχού λάθος που ανοίξαμε τα σύνορα. Ως τώρα ή θα είχαν πεθάνει από τη πείνα τους ή θα ενώναμε εύκολα με τους δικούς μας όρους.
ocean ?? Mediterranean is the sea. not ocean :D

IcelandicBoy21 0 love Iceland beautiful country beautiful people love from a Turkish Cypriot 😘
OMG i love cyprion food
The name of this place is lefkosia, isn't nicosia
No.Capitol city of Cyprus is called in Turkish LEFKOSA in Greek LEFKOSIA in English NICOSIA......
good video
Thank you!
Guys I like u so much, u r so cute both of u, but I want to make an important correction:
This is NOT a greak leak and this specific dish is NOT cyprian !!! This is vine leaves from vine(vineyard) and this specific dish is 100% Turkish and Bulgarian, NOT cyprian !!
Well the Cypriots would disagree! Everyone thinks everything is their own. ;) /J
¡Adiós amigos!
Haha Oooops. ;) -Ash
Cypriot.
Nice vid
The title of your video is misleading and inaccurate. Maybe change it to 'Learning to cook Turkish-Cypriot Food! North Cyprus foods!' or 'Learning to cook Turkish Food! North Cyprus foods!'.
Meat balls with no meat..,sound strange😂
If he says "Cyprian" one more time, I swear...
why brits hate so much greeks?
The reason why the Brits hate the Greeks is because of the many bad things the Greeks to the British after the first world war. many Brits had taken some of the land and the Greeks did not like this as at the same time Turks had land in Cyprus as well. Greeks wanted an all Greek island, this led to conflict and the Turks to help the British which ended as a crown colony for the British till 1960. The island then had conflict between the Turks and the Greek Cypriots taking most of the land after the war in 1974. To this day Greek Cypriots can cross to the Turkish side and same goes for the Turkish side. It is left a divided nation for decades.
khawla I’m British and I don’t hate the Greeks
Brits don’t hate Greeks because they allowed their side of Cyprus to be recognised but not the Turkish side. It’s not fair. We both share the island. Forget the past there is too many stories.
2nd Turkey welcome =)
vvvvayy Mustafa Kemal Paşa nın en sevdiğim resmi haaa
what Turkey? this is Cyprous
+outatis ater not south cyprus video is north cyprus so 2nd turkey true
@@MrMuratDidin nope it is still not Turkey it is Cyprus we have our own prime minister and president we have our own capital maybe our cultures are more similar to each other but other than that it is Cyprus.
Don't they have proper potato peelers in Cyprus ? Seems so wasteful.
I live in North Cyprus
Cypriot roadie hi! I live in south Cyprus , larnaca actually , how's the lockdown over there , are you all back to normal ,
@@roddychristodoulou9111 yes we are but they said next week we have to start wearing masks again everywhere because there can be wave 2
Cypriot roadie same as us , that's because parts of the world are seeing a second wave , this is the strangest summer because we have no tourists and our economy is suffering a lot.
@@roddychristodoulou9111 same for us although citizens were aloud to come back from London last week
Cypriot roadie I used to live in London for many years , I had an electrical shop in green lanes harringay and I had a lot of Turkish and Turkish Cypriot friends and customers, and we used to talk about the Cyprus problem.
So your in the illegal occupied side
It's "Cypriot" not "Cyprion"!!
I am from Cyprus
And turkey is not friend with Cyprus
The greece is friend with Cyprus!!!!!
Elena Ch. Cyprus belongs to Cypriots and both countries are friendly
Cyprus belongs to turkey n all this food is turkish.
Hahaha i think youre stupid
Lol turkey is friends with Cyprus because turkish Cypriots live in Cyprus remember 🙃
There is no such thing as "northern Cyprus food".
There's CYPRUS.
Northern Turkish Republic of cyprus is very nice!
Beleş rakıyı bulunca nasıl da içiyorlar
As if I didn't need convincing that all Americans are innately irritating! Still, respect for using your passports to go beyond Aruba/Cancun like most of your notoriously unadventurous compatriots. ,,,, X
Turkey Side.
Hope you didnt get food poisoned in the north
all fake food, just like the whole state, that aint cypriot food
REPLY
%100 Real, delicious . No need to be jelaous about it. Come to North Cyprus. First try Turkish speaking part food. Then decide !

Dolma is turkish food. Greeks only copy from us what they
Learned during ottoman empire occupation of greece ei dolma kofte doner baklava imambayildi yogurt (turkish word) cacik ayrak simit kahve simit etc.
correct term is cypriot not cyprian
