- Just thought I would put together a video on how I make these letters. Maybe it can help someone build their own. Good luck!

Amazing work ❤
You have all of my dream tools! Of course, having the right tools makes it look so easy! Thanks for sharing - you’re quite talented!
Thanks for watching!
This well be handy for me as a carpenter and event organiser
Hey great video and great work
They look really good, a little scary watching you push those long narrow pieces through the table saw, kickback city
Definite kickback city! Always mindful of that. Thank you for watching.
Hello friend, with one hand on your heart, can you make a living with this business? Thanks and greetings from Argentina.
I can say from experience it’s a good side hustle renting and selling them. Here Southern California these marquees are pretty popular for parties and events. Good my luck my friend!
@@socalwoodmarquee Thank you very much to you for answering my friend. Greetings from Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Great work! Do you find people want to rent the 3 foot or 4 foot more?
I have noticed that the numbers in 3 feet rent out quit often. And the letters in 4 feet are rented often as well.
Hey man they look amazing. I recently started this project for my wife, I have a question on the stand you put on the bottom of the “R” can you share the size and if you made it for every letter?
Thank you, the bottom base stand are usually the width of the letter. However the length from front to back is 9 inches on all letters and numbers. I hope that helps.
What was that little tool you place next to the mitta saw and how do you really use it.
Also what was the 2differnt fillers you used. One in a tube the next look like from a tub
If I’m correct you may be referring to the digital angle finder. That helps me get the angle I need for the trim. Cool little tool if you ask me. And I use wood filler.
Those look amazing, do you have to treat the ends of the MDF to keep it from absorbing the paint and swelling?
Thank you! I have not had to treat the MDF ends. I do sand them a bit. I stopped using MDF for the Marquee letters and numbers due to the fact that it is heavy. The best plywood I found is at Home depo. Its called Sande 1/2inch and its $50. The marquees come out great when using that plywood. 🙂
@@socalwoodmarquee Thanks so much! ❤️ Im trying to make this a small business :) wish me luck 😀
@@socalwoodmarquee is that better than birch plywood ?
@@Patron77770 birch is probably better but also more expensive. Your looking at about $70 1/2 4x8. Vs Sande $50 1/2 4x8.
@@socalwoodmarquee i work with a CNc if u ever need help w those backings. I’m in Oc
You made it look too easy!!
Hi, I love your work thanks! Can you tell me the songs you used in the video? The song is nostalgic.. I couldn't find by searching.. Thanks!
Nice! How do you find the degrees for each Angle Cut?
I purchased the drawings on Etsy.
How do you look for them on etsy
These are amazing. Where do you get your measurements for the letters?
I bought them on Etsy
What type of wood did you use and where did you get the BP? All i need is dimensions for mine
On this particular build I used MDF. But I would rather use Sandy plywood 1/2 inch from Home Depot.
what light do you use ? and size of drill bit for the holes?

I use a 3/4 drill spade bit for the holes
How do you store them so they don't take up too much space? A whole set of wooden letters and numbers must be quite bulky!
They definitely take up space. Ideally a shed. But I have them in my garage 😁
What measurements are the letters? I'm looking to build my own
4 ft and 3 ft.
Type of lights did you use
Bought them on line from Target. 20ct Incandescent Outdoor String Lights

A 4x8 sheet of plywood $50 at Homedepot. Depending on which letters you are making you can get 2 or 3 letters out of one sheet of plywood. So $50. Wood glue $5. Brad nails $11.

I Bet your final project came out nice. I couldnt finish watching it because you were spinning the camera around. The Nausea that gave me wouldnt let me finish. Next video please try and not spin the camera around so much. I would like to be able to see your finished project. Thanks
