Everybody I've seen keeps saying it's dumb of Amy to still be so easily manipulated by Tails, but I just figure that during the operation in part 1 he'd done something to her mind to make her more susceptible to his lies, maybe he lobotomized her to an extent or implanted some kind of mind control device or something. I mean, the guy had multiple days alone with her to do whatever he wanted, surgically speaking of course. And if you know the context of Secret History Tails, then you know it's very likely he hates Amy, even if this isn't the same one from his world. You get someone that crazy and vengeful, and give them multiple days alone with the girl he hates most, it's not that hard to imagine him going that far to make her more gullible. Plus, not only is this Amy crazy, she's also desperate for any kind of chance to undo what happened, so honestly, even discounting the possibility that he directly put something in her head, it kind of makes sense she'd be so willing to take Tails at his word. He's offering her the chance she's so desperate for, and really what other choice does she have? Go to Knuckles and tell him she accidentally killed Sonic? I suppose she could've taken out Tails, but even then that wouldn't fix anything and now Amy would most likely be the one to take all the blame as all people would see is her responsible for the deaths of their two greatest heroes only offering fake-sounding excuses about Tails secretly being evil and tricking her into it. I'm not saying it's a good idea for her to follow Tails, but I am saying that if you try and put yourself in her shoes, you'll see that in her eyes, there's practically no other choice
