Devils are like the Islanders in that they get overlooked by the Rangers and Flyers, but it is that quiet demeanor that I think endears teams like these to people. As an Isles fan every time I went to jersey to see both play the people and the ushers were very nice, the devils seemed to carry themselves with a blue collar, quiet type class which I liked.
As a Ducks fan I say thank you Scott for helping us win the cup, as an NHL fan I say thank you Scott for being one of the greatest players in NHL history.
But Scott Niedermayer's Pinnacle came when he won the Conn Smythe Award.....with the Anaheim Ducks in 2007 for the Ducks only Stanley Cup he won with His Little Brother Rob Niedermayer. How appropriate that Scott would pass the Stanley Cup to His Brother Rob after he accepted The Cup in 2007 as Captain of the Ducks. That was a real touching moment for Families everywhere because Brother Rob NEVER won the Stanley Cup before 2007 and Scott has already won it three times.
Lou is too humble to ever let the team hang a banner for him...but I'm sure a painting or something will be put up in the concourse. I wish he would get a statue along side Marty in Championship plaza when all is said and done.
