  • Hey Everyone! Sometimes customers ask the simple question "Is my order all there?" and you would think that has a simple enough answer but.... not really. Here's a perfect example of what we don't know what we're walking into and why we the drivers aren't at fault!
Here's the order they said was ready: • Just got Caught gettin...

I've worked warehouse for many years. Orders are to be ready the night before. If they "don't have a forklift driver" management is next I. Line to help out. Is she the Dept manager? Why didn't she jump on the forklift and start loading it up. Unbelievable!!!

I used to work for Home Depot when they first rolled out the pro desk concepts and started deliveries… And let me tell you it was an unorganized hot mess and then in three years I was there it never got any better.

As a former big box DIY "hot mess" employee, I can say, they skeleton crew the stores and 90% of the staff are not forklift certified and when they DO have a forklift operator they are supposed to have a spotter while inside the store... and the delivery truck driver cannot serve as spotter, neither can a customer... so it takes 2 employees to move anything from inside to outside. I was the "loader/spotter" for the lumber side of the building for 5 months, I was never forklift certified and they routinely scheduled me 8 hour shifts solo, without a forklift operator or anyone else helping me at all. It was a kick in the face to THIER customers for me to have to tell them I had no way to bring lumber down for them or to load pallets for them, I offered to help load pallets of sakrete by hand but most of them wanted it loaded on pallets so they could unload it with thier own forklift at the jobsite. There was nothing I could do, I had no help and I tried calling my manager or paging for a forklift operator but nobody ever showed up because the 2 other people in the building were also busy with thier own customers in their own deparments. I also had to cover breaks for tool world, which couldn't be left unattended due to high theft, so that left nobody in lumber at all for up to an hour at a time. Managers typically aren't forklift operators, only spotters if they absolutely have to. This was all during peak season and they weren't even TRYING to find any help or hire anyone else. Needless to say I quit working for them. Absolute garbage company.

That dude definitely cannot operate a forklift, I feel sorry for that machine. I would have been fired at a few of my past jobs for being that way with a lift, and that looks like a newer one now. WOW!

That’s just a typical Home Depot. Shit we have waited days and days for simple things that should of been ready that day or the next day. Thank god there are two other lumber yards close by. If I can’t walk in and pick it up I refuse to buy from Home Depot

Bud I understand that you have issues with people constantly as well that you get trashed from the customers but some people like to have drama and assist it. FACTS 💯

I work at HD now actually and I’m so glad that my store is now near this bad as this location. This store seems like everyone there is unorganized and just don’t care. While I personally don’t drive the forklift yet, I can say for a fact that we never keep this much product outside and that our management encourages everyone to be able to drive almost all lift equipment. We are still I think the busiest store in my area and we stay 1000% cleaner than here. If this is what a majority of the stores are like, I definitely don’t want to change locations

Good that you have video in case that the store employee damages the goods while loading them on your truck.

Worked for depot for 3 years while going to school. Shittiest company. They legit understaff. And barley anyone gets qualified to drive the forklifts. And management hides. Very stressful place to work but didnt have a choice at the time.

All too common- what they don't think of is that by holding you up for an hour (or two, or three, or four)- EVERY SINGLE DELIVERY after them is held up by that long- I can bet if they wanted you there at 8am- and you decided to roll in at midday- they would be screaming blue bloody murder (as we aussies say)- yet they are quite happy to cause exactly THAT to anyone after them...

cc says those aren't pork rinds, they are "poor grinds." (As a connoisseur of all foods unhealthy, may I suggest "Lowrey's Microwave Pork Rinds"? Popcorn-bag-like rinds you nuke for 1-2 minutes and you have fantastic fresh, hot rinds. I'm addicted.)

Of course when the pissed off customer calls HD they’ll blame the independent contract driver for refusing to allow them to load the order.

If you give someone a ten min warning it's an emergency. If you give them 2 hours it's something that can be procrastinated and eventually forgotten about :-/

I’ve worked for Home Depot, we basically had a skeleton crew, all these big corporation chains want as little employees as possible to make as much money as possible. It’s hard to blame them SOMETIMES

You know as a customer I would be very angry if they took long for my order like I had to pick up a prescription at CVS for my mom but the workers at the pharmacy took too long to find it & to me that's unacceptable & unprofessional & I had to report to the manager
