    Pastor Scott, you did a great job and saved a lot of money in the process. I was a Machinist by trade until I injured myself on the job. I'm not a sheet metal or a body man, but the fitment issue you had is the shape of the wheelhouse. It's on an angle that goes into a radius and trying to fit a flat piece of sheet metal is never going to be easy. You need a strip of sheet metal cut from an arc to fit the shape you're working with. Yes, everyone commenting is an arm chair quarterback that knows it all. I certainly don't claim to know it all, if I did, I'd be lying to myself as well as to you. Thanks for sharing your amazing Mustang Coupe to Fastback build and for sharing your faith in Almighty God and His son Jesus.

    Not sure if anyone's suggested this or not. When you cut the sheet metal to widen the tubs. If you start at the top of the arch of the metal(top of the wheel tub) clamp it, and work your metal down to the bottom edges, I think it will be easier for you to attach it without it oil canning on you. Hope it works for your next one. Great vids! You're inspiring me while I sit on the couch!

    Scott, you need a ministry series titled off automotive terms, Mini Tub Your Walk, Sway Bars for a Smoother Ride, Lugnuts to Keep the Wheels On, etc. Love the videos!

    Great video. There is w savings if you already have the new inner wheel housings. But they are $200 a set after ahippong, then your time to make them and custom fab a bunch . Mustangs to fear kit is $400 and are direct fit. They fit well. Great instruction though!

      You're right. Most of the time if I have the money I will choose to spend over build just because my time is so limited and gosh I'd like to finish something. But there are other times that I have to do the work because the money isn't there.

      Your video is great if you are wanting to go considerably wider and spend a lot more money to modify the rear interior. I designed the Mustang To Fear tubs for no modification at all 😊

    The copper looking weld through primer works a lot better than the non copper variety... then again... turning up the welder a little helps [kinda makes sense to turn it up a notch when using that stuff when you think of it]. Like anything new, it takes getting used to. For the best of both worlds scenario thing to play out... the give and take principle applies.. it works better if you nudge up the setting and if you use the copper looking stuff.. or you avoid it all together and primer after you weld it like a logical person lmao

    Cool thing about weld threw primer is you can weld threw it and you don't have to sand it off. Your overlapping metal will rust in between without it.

    • @ScottHarness1
      @ScottHarness1  Před 2 lety

      In theory... The weld through that I have used still effects the weld and really needs to be sanded off where you are welding. But I may need to be using a different type. The $25-35 a can hurts my heart...

    • @RS-gh2mf
      @RS-gh2mf Před 7 měsíci

      We started using DTM in a rattle can, works 10 times better than all the weld thru primers 👍

    The toughest part of being a mechanic and a Christian is now I spend half my time in the garage apologizing for things I shouldn't have said and getting mad when I shouldn't have. It's tough knowing he is watching you all the time when you just need him to look away for 30 seconds and let you explode real quick. haha

    • @ScottHarness1
      @ScottHarness1  Před 2 lety

      I think we all understand that. Lean into the fact He loves you and enjoys being there. Also just know getting mad or upset isn’t a sin just how you deal with it. Love comments like this. Transparent and real…

    • @jarpurple1
      @jarpurple1 Před 2 lety

      czcams.com/video/EWVkw27QZqo/video.html weld in the inner fender than roll it so flange Is up against the quarter panel. You keep the flange for strength and clearance for tire. Tools are fairly cheap. I picked one up myself but have not done it yet

    Does the mini tub effect the back seats? Do they fit with this modification?

    • @ScottHarness1
      @ScottHarness1  Před 9 měsíci +1

      Just for fitment I put the Coupe rear seat in and it's tight but will fit, you can't run the side panels this route. I still haven't decided how I am going to do the interior in the back, I know I am going to have a seat and I won't be running the fastback seat, just not exactly sure how I am going to do it...

      18X12 Rocket wheels in the rear with 305 30r 18's. I think I would do 335's if I were to do it again.

    While thats impressive and cheaper because you already had new inners (which are like $200 that you're not counting in costs) my mtf mini tub install was much easier than the work you put into this, the time savings alone was worth the extra $200.
