I've taken a liking to the new design, especially with his battle armor.
Personally I like the new design better, the colors and the scars just add more to the character than the original version did
I still prefer the original. This looks like a really nice figure, but I just can' t get passed his goofy feet...
Would've been nice to get a mouth beam effect
Ye same i was planning for it to have a mouth beam effect and the beam will have a stand or the beam could be inserted in the mouth

The feet are accurate Anthony. In the movie his feet were oversized as well.
Even if broly had small feet, SHFiguarts would have made it big so it can stand up. They did that with fat buu
S.H. Figuarts has good ideas but poor excution sometimes. Like the toe hinge on the Broly figure. It gives me nightmares.

I’m more excited for the armor wearing Broly, though I’ll probably eventually get this one too.. when the price is doubled(like the first Broly figure) & I say to myself “Why didn’t I just get it when it came out!?”
haha me too. I actually love both and did a very last minute PO on the armored ver with the mindset like yours. Hope I'm not below the list when the item release. IF there is a stock-cut, I'm better off say byebye to it.
@@beepbeep237 I wouldn't worry. The only reason the first Broly shot up and never came down was web exclusivity. The new Broly figures excluding Vegeta are retail releases. I guarantee these will get a reprint next year. Hell Frieza did this month and its been just a year since his initial release. Now you could say it was just to coincide with the Broly figures since he was in the movie as well. But I'm pretty sure they will re issue down the line. Most likely sooner than later.
@@omegashenron8 Usually re-issues will take years, I wouldn't risk it. Don't forget this Broly is movie-exclusive, he isn't in the DBS series. Which means they could focus back on the series line next. Not to mention they just release this, and the movie was not even a year old yet. What they'll release next is the Armored ver of Broly. So if some fans were to wait for this Broly Full Power ver. to be re-issued, erm good luck to them haha. It wont be that soon. But this is just my personal POV. Better to get while can, than sorry later.
@TrueAmericanReject yeah that’s me right now. I got the armor version last year and now I’m trying to get the full power lol. Good thing the price isn’t doubled but it’s still real expensive.

I agree, without the context, the green "garment" looks goofy. Heck, I hated it when they initially showed the character sketch. Having watched the movie made me go 180° about it and now I wouldn't have it any other way. As for the foot size, yeah I also agree (even if it's technically accurate to the source) but I bet Cheelai isn't complaining about it.

i agree with your argument as well. except for the pelt part, it actually has a lot of reason for it, it belonged to his only friend (which was a big green dog/bear thing) his father, paragus shot of the dogs ear with a blaster, so broly decided to keep it, sorry if this offends you in any sort, if you've seen the film this reply is pointless, have a good day
He's mostly a brawler in this form. Was hoping for the next Broly to come with a mouth beam which he shot against Vegeta. Solid review and imo best DB figure of the year so far. Cant wait for mine

Ya know...he fired off so many blasts in the movie. You think they could have given him some kind of effect? They could have easily reused and given him the original Broly's ki blasts....and stand. Still an awesome figure and probably one of my favorites to date.

I love the old Broly design better but this one grew on me already, and this figure makes up for it as well!

Yeah, the old original broly arms look like giant meat sacs resting on his body, while this one's arms look a lot more natural, although nobody can be that buff in reality.

I know im a bit late, but the reason the shoulders and bicep seem weird is because they were rushed into manufacturing. When he was first revealed and for quite a while after he had a horrible combined shoulder and arm with exposed peg into the body, which they changed to this design not too long before release.
I'm not trying to be a smart Alex but the green skirt is a green ear if y'all watch the movie broly tells y'all all about it The ear is from a monster he grew up with and his father shot his ear. So now he keeps his ear to remember him.
I'm jealous. But also can't wait to unbox it myself
He should have a mouth blast he basically had freaking Godzilla breath! And did a green KAMAHAMAHA like blast so now there should be a beam effect Bandai is just being cheek there but I’d say only there this figure sculpt wise is amazing looking I mean dang,
He did use energy blasts, but usually they were all from giant sources of energy first. The only real "single" beams/energy he used were when he threw the two energy balls right before Goku and Vegeta did the Galick Kamehameha, and his mouth laser.
I was never a fan of the old Broly. But this version had really won me over. Honestly might be my 3rd favorite character now.
The new broly looks awesome, and he's dummy thicc.

Regarding the loose bicep swivel, that is not just yours. My Broly has a loose left arm as well, right arm is tight. I used some nail polish and a hairdryer to add some friction to it and it helped a bit, but it is still looser than the right arm. It looks like the left arm has looser tolerances on the model from what I can tell.
Real excited for this (and super Buu)! Even though I don't have any original Broly, I have to say I'm split. Literally. I love the Torso and head/hair of this one but really dig the pants of the original.

Yeah he has huge feet in all the design sheets, in the movie itself, pretty much everything
It's inconsistent anyways. Sometimes he's drawn with bigger feet in some frames. Still a million times better than the original Broly SHF. That one had atrocious steroid proportions; balloon shoulders, tiny pencil face, and small female feet.

Got mine yesterday. And it's not just yours with the loose left arm. Mine does the exact same thing. In a way I'm glad it wasn't just mine that came out like that.

Yes, Broly used plenty of blast attacks in the movie and had a SICK aura. Wish they'd included things like that. Maybe even a large blast attack for the mouth to pair with the screaming face. Still, I want this figure. I want all the SH Figuarts Brolys except Z and Super Saiyan.

I think loose bicep swivels might be more widespread QC issue. I have exact same problem on mine.
Fill in the scars, change the lower arms, swap the head and take off the skirt. Repaint. G.o.D. Toppo.

I hated the new design when I first saw it, since the og design was better. Then I saw the movie and Now I like the new design alot. I’m glad I have the old school Broly and I can’t wait to get the new one. In my opinion the new one looks way better! Can’t wait!!

Is it possible to separate the lower and upper body on these figures w/o breaking them? I'd like to get the upcoming armor Broly and put the upper body of that on the lower body of the older/original Broly figures.
They won't likely fit together. I'm not going to risk breaking it to find out though. Sorry
I think they made very big feet for balance, but afterall this figure is absolutely awesome, love this broly

The design has really grown on me but the OG is still better. & well it’s Broly, one of my favorite DBZ characters period. I really do like the powered down version tho, that figure looks amazing.

It looks amazing. I’m still a bit weary on Figuarts figures tho. The last Figuart I purchased had an extremely loose leg joint out of the box. It practically just dangled. That killed it for me. I’m hoping this one isn’t like that. Other than that, they nailed it!

Real quick. What stand do you use for him? I only have the tamashii nations 3 stand set, but i even have trouble keeping Buu in a flying position.

I understand his opinion about the feet but we wouldnt get the figure upper body design that good without something to balance it out but personally its a 10/10 but you cant even defend the toe hinge.

Yeah. I preorder all figuarts figures day one, although I missed armored broly, on BBTS. Still waiting on Super Buu which everyone else already seems to have. I literally just got saiyaman from them like a week ago. I feel like this didn’t use to be a problem.
