To me the Snyderverse means completing the Darkseid arc. Anything that is revised to include more superheroes is fine by me, as long as the overall Darkseid story is still the priority and Cavill, Affleck, Gadot, Momoa, Fisher and Miller are still the Justice League members going forward, with more like Martian Manhunter, The Atom, Shazam and Green Lantern to follow. If Gunn and Safran can manage this balancing act, then more power to them and fans

I completely agree. James Gunn and Peter Safran need to create a universe that satisfies both sides of the fandom. It's unreasonable to expect Snyder to direct every movie, and it's also unfair to want his storyline to be destroyed without a conclusion. They have to use the cliffhanger which Zack set up i.e Darkseid coming. WBD is clearly moving in the direction of the MCU with connectivity etc. so it's as clear as day they have to move towards an Endgame situation against Darkseid. He is clearly one of the biggest bads in the DC lineup. Plus Snyder coming back at some point down the line for that showdown would be massive publicity for WBD. It's a no brainer as far as I'm concerned. Trying to do something different will just turn off longer term Snyder fans and end up with mediocre results imo. The thing is, Zack wasn’t trying to make a superhero buffet like the Marvel movies. He wanted to make five movies more akin to LOTR’s. Let the man finish his story, let other directors that are happy to evolve specific characters off of what they have already seen into their own epic adventures and then in Zack’s final movie Flash resets the timeline and we evolve into something new. The Snyderverse is still around, but WB saw such success in it and they just wanted to complete their story version first. By doing that, they would be saving money for a guaranteed future for the continued Snyderverse through Zaslov and Dwayne Johnson on HBO MAX. Zaslov is also setting it up for the long run too as well to give Snyder a guaranteed chance to return since he will have the last say about it once the time comes. That's what I've heard, and I'll just patiently wait, ignoring the doubters and haters until it finally happens. Snyderverse is never over, even if it has to move over to Dwayne Johnson's universe for the old ways. Snyder related, and based movies. Best kind of movies ever, and I own each of the Snyderverse movies. Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Zack Snyder's Justice League. Anything with is name attached to it is an epic masterpiece to me. It doesn't matter what anyone else thinks about him, I just love his dark settings and more adult themed movies. Yes they should and I agree with you 100%. I think that his return would see him using your plan of including more characters in the story. There's no way he's using the story from the whiteboards, especially since ZSJL (and Aquaman) basically contradicts/overwrites some of the events that were written on the whiteboards, so Zack Snyder's new storyline wouldn't be what some people seem to be expecting anyway (which is a good thing imo). Also, I don't think he had the option of using any more characters than WB gave him permission to use before (which we know given how they refused to let him use Green Lantern) so I see him using as many as he possibly can, if he's allowed to.

Short Answer: Yes Long answer - Maybe tweaks and adjustments need to be made, maybe they even need to go back and make revisions to some of the films that have already come out(call them Director's Cuts or Final Editions or whatever) to align them with future films and plans. We likely can't/won't get the ORIGINAL plans for Snyder's Justice League 2 and 3...but I do think he should be given the chance to come back and helm future DC films. I think a variation or version of his vision should be implemented. Keep his tone and style. He laid groundwork for Darkseid, and introduced that entire plot thread. Why NOT explore that? They want a 10 year plan. If they start "fresh" then they have to re-build any long term story arc, OR they could build on something they already have like the Snyder Cut and continue the Darkseid Invasion plot thread.
I for one definately vote for option 3. I want the Snyder story to continue with everything that's has been unexpectedly introduced, even Birds of Prey. I do also believe that JL 2017 is still canon, but I truly think that they will create an in universe reason for making ZSJL canon using the ending of the Flash movie. A decision like that is more creative and more logical in DC's sense since Flashpoint is how they rebooted the timeline in the comics.
Why don’t you Snyder fans just get over it? The data says people didn’t like his movies. MOS under-performed. Yes, many people loved it but on the whole it under performed at the box office. BvS had a world record 2nd weekend drop at the box office of 81%. It opened big because people wanted to see it, but those who did obviously didn’t go back and told their friends not to bother. Snyder cut of Justice League is simple-whether you liked it or not, you cannot theatrically release a movie that is 4 fucking hours! Snyder fans need to get over it. The problem with Snyder's vision is that he was basically rushing into an evil Superman story so quickly, when a lot of people were not sold on his version of Superman. Also Darkseid is something you have to build up to as well, with Snyder it would have felt rushed to me. No, we are not on the same side. The second you said that crap about the audience score and not the critics is the reason why from a quality film like BATMAN RETURNS we devolve into BATMAN AND ROBIN. What you should have looked at was box office receipts since MOS. Todd Phillips' and Matt Reeves have made art that Marvel cannot touch for the most part. I think it’s a brilliant idea if WBD were to have Snyder (in collaboration with the present heads of DC Studios) craft a new story around the JL’s battle with Darkseid and his Elites! As much as I love Snyder and his imprint upon the DCEU, there were some ideas that could’ve been decided against if collaboration was occurring. Dead Jimmy Olsen, what was almost a dead Dick Grayson, and Lois and Bruce having a child that Clark would go on to raise with his wife after Batman’s demise. As long as the story they're planning is good I'll be happy, but Zack Snyder did bring a lot of good ideas to the DCU so I also think it'd be nice to have him on the team to plan the next movies. DC has the chance of their lives right now in my opinion, Marvel is so comfortable believing the entire world loves them that they have started to release either mediocre or bad movies and even some fans are not happy with them, if DC can get everything in order and write a good story they could rise to be a bit closer to the level where Marvel has been for so long, so long in fact that as I said, they're starting to mess up.

I am a Caribbean SnyderVerse advocate from Trinidad. The only way forward has to be the reinstatement of the full slate of SnyderVerse projects- Justice League 2 & 3, Man of Steel 2, the Ray Fisher Cyborg series, the Batfleck Batman, the Deathstroke series, the Chinese Atom movie, the Hal Jordan Green Lantern series, etc. I'm including the completion of Wan's Aquaman trilogy and getting the Wonder Woman franchise back on track by emancipating writing duties from Geoff Johns and Patty Jenkins and returning the character to what worked in the first movie. WB Discovery needs to let the Darkseid saga play out and let it introduce new characters like the League of Doom, Spectre, etc as well as integrate characters like Shazam and Black Adam, etc into the larger epic. What the Darkseid event does is create a brilliant integrated Universe with brilliant character design which is Zack's strong point. An integrated Universe is a reason why Marvel properties are profitable- even when mediocre- because the audience feels it needs to see the continuing saga. After the SnyderVerse plays out, WB Discovery could use ongoing Flashpoint events to reboot the corners and characters in the Universe they want to and to pivot towards a more 'family friendly' vision for the Universe if that's their plan. The success of Aquaman and the first Wonder Woman show that Zack's character design and basic vision can be a platform for 'family friendly' mass-market stuff. The success of the Flash movie in setting up the idea of the Multiverse is key. The Darkseid Saga then enables the Multiverse to become super entrenched and paves the way for all forms of rebooting. Rebooting without Zack's next movies will lead to a massive defection of DC fans from the WB Discovery Universe but moreso will remove DC's main story platform to be able to reboot with logic, Legacy, brilliant IP, and goodwill.
I for me the Snyderverse being restored only needs as a minimum the next movies to acknowledge the continuity of the first DCEU movies and ZSJL. The story planned by Snyder can change/expand but it has to take into account the story as it was going.
At this point, I would say no. There’s just too much baggage and negative energy around it. Let Gunn craft the new DCU post-Flash and let’s go forward into the future. Whether that’s a Kingdom Come storyline or World’s Finest movie, let’s see what the new heads of DC Studios can do.

Yes, it should be restored, because it not only gives us an epic saga, but it also stands for what we want as stories. Snyder had creative freedom for JL, what created ultimately a masterpiece. It was CREATIVE FREEDOM which decides the quality of the story, not whatever the executives want. The same thing happened with the serie Arcane: executives stood behind the writers and creators of the show, and now we have a masterpiece of a show which can be viewed a dozen times without getting boring. The Snyderverse stands on this freedom. Today we are getting sludges of many movies which are made just to earn some money or some political standpoint (looking at you Netflix and Disney). These are not the goals one has to have when making a story. The Snyderverse not only stands for whatever Snyder has created, it also stands for what stories are for. It's this / his creative freedom which shines upon our world of constant sludges of political correctness and capitalism, as a beacon of hope. So yes, I think it should be restored.

All the main superheros from ZSJL, Suicide Squads, Black Adam, JSA, ShaZam Family, Green Lantern Corps, Aquamans underwater nations and their forces, Orion introduced later and the US Military and World Allies all fending off and parking in Many battles would be epic....it can also progress over 2 parallel timelines where we can still see Superman under Darkseids control until the end when that plan is thwarted leaving Darkseid vs Superman 1 on 1. Anf other JL and JSA members i their own boss fights and in integral roles.
I agree that the game plan should be to retain certain elements of the Synderverse such as the released movies established timeline of events and the eventual epic showdown with Darkseid! It seems like the main focus of the new theater DCU movies should be on the major characters of Superman, Wonder Woman, Batman, Aquaman, the Flash, Cyborg, Shazam, and the Green Lantern. The movies should flesh out our superheroes' backgrounds and individual character arcs. They can cap off each phase with a team up movie like Justice League. I know that the Rock is a big star, but I don't know if it is a good business move to make expensive movies of minor characters like Black Adam. It is probably better to introduce those types of characters within one of the major character movies or in a streaming series like what we saw in Peacemaker which was a big success! A big business such as the DC Studio needs to be efficient and profitable! I don't think we would need to separate Robert Pattinson's Batman from Ben Affleck's Batman given that Pattinson is playing a younger version of Batman which it is very plausible that he exists in an universe before metahumans' existence is revealed to the world hence Affleck's initial aversion to Superman 20 yrs later into his crime fighting career. I see Pattinson's Batman as the potential origin story of Affleck's Batman especially since time travel and alternate timelines are now possible in the DCU. Plus, I think Affleck's DCU Batman should at some point use the Venom drug that Bane uses to give him superhuman endurance and strength to make him a quasi metahuman like Captain America super soldier status so that Batman can get in the middle of these DCU fights. I would like to see a funny, goofy, nerdy Clark Kent for Henry Cavil. He could be this good old Boy Scout investigative reporter who genuinely wants to help change the world for the good! Make him like this environmentalist, anti-corruption, anti-crime, and anti-war type of journalist, but as Superman, he reluctantly works with Amanda Waller and the US government to stop global threats. Superman crosses paths with the evil Lex Luthor who could be secretly working with Darkseid & Intergang which was introduced in Black Adam. Darkseid could provide Luthor and Intergang with the alien technology and the weapons to fight against our superheroes. He can give Lex Luthor a battle suit that he can use to fight Superman. All of these movies' storylines could be connected!

I completely agree. James Gunn and Peter Safran need to create a universe that satisfies both sides of the fandom. It's unreasonable to expect Snyder to direct every movie, and it's also unfair to want his storyline to be destroyed without a conclusion. Bringing him in for specific movies would create additional hype for the DCU, and all the fans would get what they want!

They have to use the cliffhanger which Zack set up i.e Darkseid coming. WBD is clearly moving in the direction of the MCU with connectivity etc. so it's as clear as day they have to move towards an Endgame situation against Darkseid. He is clearly one of the biggest bads in the DC lineup. Plus Snyder coming back at some point down the line for that showdown would be massive publicity for WBD. It's a no brainer as far as I'm concerned. Trying to do something different will just turn off longer term Snyder fans and end up with mediocre results imo. Besides, Gunn says he is listening to the fans, if he hasn't heard the voice of us Snyder fans then he must be deaf !!

The thing is, Zack wasn’t trying to make a superhero buffet like the Marvel movies. He wanted to make five movies more akin to LOTR’s. Let the man finish his story, let other directors that are happy to evolve specific characters off of what they have already seen into their own epic adventures and then in Zack’s final movie Flash resets the timeline and we evolve into something new. WB’s did him dirty. The whole world knows it and they still can’t even attempt to mend bridges. At least Zack remains positive I just wish more would. #stopthenegativity #unite

The Snyderverse is still around, but WB saw such success in it and they just wanted to complete their story version first. By doing that, they would be saving money for a guaranteed future for the continued Snyderverse through Zaslov and Dwayne Johnson on HBO MAX. Zaslov is also setting it up for the long run too as well to give Snyder a guaranteed chance to return since he will have the last say about it once the time comes. That's what I've heard, and I'll just patiently wait, ignoring the doubters and haters until it finally happens. Snyderverse is never over, even if it has to move over to Dwayne Johnson's universe for the old ways. Snyder related, and based movies. Best kind of movies ever, and I own each of the Snyderverse movies. Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Zack Snyder's Justice League. Anything with is name attached to it is an epic masterpiece to me. It doesn't matter what anyone else thinks about him, I just love his dark settings and more adult themed movies. They're not all campy and joyful, meant for kids.

There's no way he's using the story from the whiteboards, especially since ZSJL (and Aquaman) basically contradicts/overwrites some of the events that were written on the whiteboards, so Zack Snyder's new storyline wouldn't be what some people seem to be expecting anyway (which is a good thing imo).
Also, I don't think he had the option of using any more characters than WB gave him permission to use before (which we know given how they refused to let him use Green Lantern) so I see him using as many as he possibly can, if he's allowed to.
Fantastic take! I agree completely with your conclusion, the points you made and with the manner in which the Snyderverse should be restored. WB would do well to pay attention to this analysis and of course to the fans.
Short Answer: Yes
Long answer - Maybe tweaks and adjustments need to be made, maybe they even need to go back and make revisions to some of the films that have already come out(call them Director's Cuts or Final Editions or whatever) to align them with future films and plans.
We likely can't/won't get the ORIGINAL plans for Snyder's Justice League 2 and 3...but I do think he should be given the chance to come back and helm future DC films.
I think a variation or version of his vision should be implemented. Keep his tone and style.
He laid groundwork for Darkseid, and introduced that entire plot thread. Why NOT explore that? They want a 10 year plan. If they start "fresh" then they have to re-build any long term story arc, OR they could build on something they already have like the Snyder Cut and continue the Darkseid Invasion plot thread.

I for one definately vote for option 3. I want the Snyder story to continue with everything that's has been unexpectedly introduced, even Birds of Prey. I do also believe that JL 2017 is still canon, but I truly think that they will create an in universe reason for making ZSJL canon using the ending of the Flash movie. A decision like that is more creative and more logical in DC's sense since Flashpoint is how they rebooted the timeline in the comics.

Why don’t you Snyder fans just get over it? The data says people didn’t like his movies. MOS under-performed. Yes, many people loved it but on the whole it under performed at the box office. BvS had a world record 2nd weekend drop at the box office of 81%. It opened big because people wanted to see it, but those who did obviously didn’t go back and told their friends not to bother. Snyder cut of Justice League is simple-whether you liked it or not, you cannot theatrically release a movie that is 4 fucking hours! Snyder fans need to get over it. He is not coming back because he hasn’t brought the studio the money and the following that they wanted.
The problem with Snyder's vision is that he was basically rushing into an evil Superman story so quickly, when a lot of people were not sold on his version of Superman. Also Darkseid is something you have to build up to as well, with Snyder it would have felt rushed to me. Also the toxic people in the Snyder cult would be very annoying having to listen to if this was continue.

No, we are not on the same side. The second you said that crap about the audience score and not the critics is the reason why from a quality film like BATMAN RETURNS we devolve into BATMAN AND ROBIN. What you should have looked at was box office receipts since MOS. Todd Phillips' and Matt Reeves have made art that Marvel cannot touch for the most part. General blockbuster fare is a disservice to DC as a whole and as fans you shouldn't settle for less.
I think it’s a brilliant idea if WBD were to have Snyder (in collaboration with the present heads of DC Studios) craft a new story around the JL’s battle with Darkseid and his Elites! As much as I love Snyder and his imprint upon the DCEU, there were some ideas that could’ve been decided against if collaboration was occurring. Dead Jimmy Olsen, what was almost a dead Dick Grayson, and Lois and Bruce having a child that Clark would go on to raise with his wife after Batman’s demise. As long as the story they're planning is good I'll be happy, but Zack Snyder did bring a lot of good ideas to the DCU so I also think it'd be nice to have him on the team to plan the next movies. DC has the chance of their lives right now in my opinion, Marvel is so comfortable believing the entire world loves them that they have started to release either mediocre or bad movies and even some fans are not happy with them, if DC can get everything in order and write a good story they could rise to be a bit closer to the level where Marvel has been for so long, so long in fact that as I said, they're starting to mess up.

I don’t really want Snyder to come back. I thought Man of Steel was good, Batman vs Superman was trash, and the Snyder Cut was good but still saw the cracks. I just don’t see Snyder as a compelling storyteller especially with the DC Characters. Plus having an entire cinematic universe directed under Zack Snyder is stupid. There should’ve been a concise roadmap from the beginning even Batman vs Superman wasn’t suppose to happen when Man of Steel came out. I don’t know what could be done to set the DCEU right. I am a Caribbean SnyderVerse advocate from Trinidad. The only way forward has to be the reinstatement of the full slate of SnyderVerse projects- Justice League 2 & 3, Man of Steel 2, the Ray Fisher Cyborg series, the Batfleck Batman, the Deathstroke series, the Chinese Atom movie, the Hal Jordan Green Lantern series, etc. I'm including the completion of Wan's Aquaman trilogy and getting the Wonder Woman franchise back on track by emancipating writing duties from Geoff Johns and Patty Jenkins and returning the character to what worked in the first movie.
WB Discovery needs to let the Darkseid saga play out and let it introduce new characters like the League of Doom, Spectre, etc as well as integrate characters like Shazam and Black Adam, etc into the larger epic. What the Darkseid event does is create a brilliant integrated Universe with brilliant character design which is Zack's strong point. An integrated Universe is a reason why Marvel properties are profitable- even when mediocre- because the audience feels it needs to see the continuing saga.
After the SnyderVerse plays out, WB Discovery could use ongoing Flashpoint events to reboot the corners and characters in the Universe they want to and to pivot towards a more 'family friendly' vision for the Universe if that's their plan. The success of Aquaman and the first Wonder Woman show that Zack's character design and basic vision can be a platform for 'family friendly' mass-market stuff. The success of the Flash movie in setting up the idea of the Multiverse is key. The Darkseid Saga then enables the Multiverse to become super entrenched and paves the way for all forms of rebooting. Rebooting without Zack's next movies will lead to a massive defection of DC fans from the WB Discovery Universe but moreso will remove DC's main story platform to be able to reboot with logic, Legacy, brilliant IP, and goodwill.
I for me the Snyderverse being restored only needs as a minimum the next movies to acknowledge the continuity of the first DCEU movies and ZSJL. The story planned by Snyder can change/expand but it has to take into account the story as it was going.

Yes, it should be restored, because it not only gives us an epic saga, but it also stands for what we want as stories. Snyder had creative freedom for JL, what created ultimately a masterpiece. It was CREATIVE FREEDOM which decides the quality of the story, not whatever the executives want. The same thing happened with the serie Arcane: executives stood behind the writers and creators of the show, and now we have a masterpiece of a show which can be viewed a dozen times without getting boring. The Snyderverse stands on this freedom. Today we are getting sludges of many movies which are made just to earn some money or some political standpoint (looking at you Netflix and Disney). These are not the goals one has to have when making a story. The Snyderverse not only stands for whatever Snyder has created, it also stands for what stories are for. It's this / his creative freedom which shines upon our world of constant sludges of political correctness and capitalism, as a beacon of hope. So yes, I think it should be restored.

All the main superheros from ZSJL, Suicide Squads, Black Adam, JSA, ShaZam Family, Green Lantern Corps, Aquamans underwater nations and their forces, Orion introduced later and the US Military and World Allies all fending off and parking in Many battles would be epic....it can also progress over 2 parallel timelines where we can still see Superman under Darkseids control until the end when that plan is thwarted leaving Darkseid vs Superman 1 on 1. I agree that the game plan should be to retain certain elements of the Synderverse such as the released movies established timeline of events and the eventual epic showdown with Darkseid! It seems like the main focus of the new theater DCU movies should be on the major characters of Superman, Wonder Woman, Batman, Aquaman, the Flash, Cyborg, Shazam, and the Green Lantern. The movies should flesh out our superheroes' backgrounds and individual character arcs. They can cap off each phase with a team up movie like Justice League. I know that the Rock is a big star, but I don't know if it is a good business move to make expensive movies of minor characters like Black Adam. It is probably better to introduce those types of characters within one of the major character movies or in a streaming series like what we saw in Peacemaker which was a big success! A big business such as the DC Studio needs to be efficient and profitable! I don't think we would need to separate Robert Pattinson's Batman from Ben Affleck's Batman given that Pattinson is playing a younger version of Batman which it is very plausible that he exists in an universe before metahumans' existence is revealed to the world hence Affleck's initial aversion to Superman 20 yrs later into his crime fighting career. I see Pattinson's Batman as the potential origin story of Affleck's Batman especially since time travel and alternate timelines are now possible in the DCU. Plus, I think Affleck's DCU Batman should at some point use the Venom drug that Bane uses to give him superhuman endurance and strength to make him a quasi metahuman like Captain America super soldier status so that Batman can get in the middle of these DCU fights. I would like to see a funny, goofy, nerdy Clark Kent for Henry Cavil. He could be this good old Boy Scout investigative reporter who genuinely wants to help change the world for the good! Make him like this environmentalist, anti-corruption, anti-crime, and anti-war type of journalist, but as Superman, he reluctantly works with Amanda Waller and the US government to stop global threats. Superman crosses paths with the evil Lex Luthor who could be secretly working with Darkseid & Intergang which was introduced in Black Adam. Darkseid could provide Luthor and Intergang with the alien technology and the weapons to fight against our superheroes. He can give Lex Luthor a battle suit that he can use to fight Superman. All of these movies' storylines could be connected!
