I met grown-up spanky at a Ford dealer in ft worth . I was in graduate school at the time. It was awesome. he was quite pleasant.
Today, here in Brazil it's the first time I watch The Rascals of the 40's, just knew about the one from my childhood at the 90's.
The Buckwheat's hair thing started all the way back in the silent era when Farina's rag braids would fly up in the air when he was startled.

They should re show these movies for our younger ones to watch today. Miss the real innocence of those days.

I've been keeping up on all the Little rascals shorts and watched a lot of them in the last couple months
This is a wonderful episode, "Alfie's Aunt." I used to watch this mostly( including "Spooky Hooky") out of all the episodes, because it's a wonderful episode.😃

Wikipedia: Our Gang's first production at the Roach studio was in 1922 as a silent short subject series. Roach changed distributors from Pathé to Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM) in 1927, and converted the series to sound in 1929. Production continued at the Roach studio until the series was sold in 1938 to MGM, who continued producing the comedies until 1944.

Porky became a public school teacher and had a long career. Buckwheat worked for the same employer for 20 yrs. Spanky had a long career in sales. Alfalfa got shot and killed though in his 20s.

these late films really suck. The silents and early talkies were a mile better. When alfalfa came around, I couldnt watch it anymore. Same goes for spanky. No disrespect, but the gang was gone.

carol tenge true the MGM shorts from 1938 - 1944 were not the best and not well recieved but they're still fun to watch, but i have to disagree with you when it comes the line up changes the gang was never gone when Alfalfa came and joined in 1935 and the Hal Roach's Rascals were still funny under his productions til 1938 and to top it off, the line up with Spanky, Alfalfa, Buckwheat, Darla, Porky, Leonard, Junior, Butch and Woim is the most popular line up of all because when people talks about Our Gang/Little Rascals, they'll always come up with the names who i just mentioned and even they'll also mention Stymie even though he was not in tha Gang anymore with that line up but as an individual Stymie was very popular because everybody loved him, so no matter what all Our Gang comedies were good from 1922 til 1938 by Hal Roach.

Sorry to disagree but Carl "Alfalfa" Switzer made the show great! He was the best one!
