If a question was to come up on my paper about economic contexts with I, Daniel Blake, what would I talk about?

Anything to do with film financing, and revenue / profits. So the fact that it’s a low budget film and had to get funding from a variety of places including the BFI etc. What impact their low budget had on the film production, the way it was marketed and distributed etc

I just came here because I watched the film today and was looking for some commentary or review and had never even heard of A-Level Media Studies lol. Despite that I enjoyed all the insights that you provided. I would however caution you about keeping your own leanings in check when giving commentary in a video like this. The specific words you choose to describe something or someone alone can demonstrate bias. For example you repeatedly used the term "anti-conservative" to apply to this film , its writing and direction, as opposed to just calling it liberal or left leaning. When you define things in negative terms that express disagreement or disgruntlement or discord like that it's associating that position with negativity.
If you don't believe me here is another example. Now I'm not going to take any side in this issue one way or the other, that's very important to understand, but as far as the issue of abortion goes the western media has a well known bias in favor of abortion. The term used to describe people on one side of this debate is anti choice or pro life. But you never hear western media describing the other side as anti life. It's always always always pro choice. Why? Because calling one side anti anything expresses a bias against them.

Thanks for this. I have used the term “anti Conservative” because Ken Loach the director is very openly and very staunchly anti Conservative. He promoted the film as being a message about the negative effects of the Conservative party policies. He regularly appears in the media expressing his strong feelings of disgust about the party. Regardless of my own feelings, the film itself was written and marketed as being specifically anti Conservative

@@mrsfisher8961 Those are some good points and seeing mostly American films I'm not as familiar with the history Mr Loach as you are. Thanks for your response and hopefully I will see another film that you've commented on before too long.
