Do you prefer raw or kibble for your dog's diet? Share the process you use to prepare and feed them.

I have a pug and I prefer to feed homemade raw or, occasionally, gently cooked. My process looks a lot like what you showed, except I like to add all supplements (minus his vitamin E supplement) into the batch, just in case someone else has to feed him for me (My work shifts are crazy lol) and I don't want to overwhelm anyone else who might have to feed him!
I prefer feeding a fresh diet, more specifically homemade, because I know exactly what goes into his meals. Pugs are not the healthiest breed, but I have seen a huge difference in his health when switching from kibble, albeit was a low-quality kibble I was feeding at the time, to a fresh, homemade diet. His coat is shinier, softer and thicker than it used to be, he sheds less, he poops less, his teeth are cleaner and his breath smells better (still doesn't smell great, but I'll take any improvement!). Not to mention how excited he gets to eat. Yes, preparing his food at home takes time and costs more money than his old kibble used to, but my little dog is THRIVING and that's all the encouragement I need to keep feeding him the way I do.

@@lylasadventures3930Definitely agree. Seeing the benefits that a raw diet provides is worth the effort. Thanks for sharing your experiences.

Hi I’m interesting in learning more about raw feeding and yes there are many articles you can read but it would be great if you can do a step by step on the process. Your video was great but if you can do a “how to for dummys” longer length video of the entire process from beginning to end like what ingredients & how much you put in etc. The part you mentioned about the ratio 1:1 and 3:1 I totally didnt understand what that meant. Also how much an entire batch like this would cost someone, maybe mentioning the grocery price.

    hello,
Would you be able to break down how much of each ingredient you are using? How much beef, cheek, heart, etc..?
    Thank you

With the exception of sweet potatoes and sometimes adding oatmeal we feed a Prey Model Diet.
Specifically: 80% muscle meat (Beef & Chicken), 10% bone (from chicken wings & legs), 10% secreting organs (we use what we can find locally or online most often its liver and kidney). We also add green tripe several times a week and fish/fish oil daily. Again, we are not nutritionalist. It will be your task to tailor your recipe to accurately support your dog’s needs. There are a lot of resources online to help with your journey. 🙂

I am currently feeding commercial raw (Small Batch, Raw Dynamic and Vital Essential), but I am also learning more about raw food and want to eventually start doing it on my own, maybe even add in a little bit of gently cooked from time to time. I recently learned that most commercial raw add fish oil in the food and those oil oxides quickly once the bag is open and through freezing. I know they add vitamin E in it but I just don't know if that is enough to not cause any issue. Also a lot of commercial raw is higher in fat than I would like, I am looking for a 2:1 protein to fat ratio and trying to balance the fat better like adding more omega 3 especially when feeding chicken, I know chicken is higher in omega 6 unless if they are truly pastured raised and the farmer do field rotation for the chickens. It's so complicated and so many things to look for, I am afraid I won't be able to get it right.

Sounds to me that you already have specific goals that you want to achieve. It’s people like yourself that do well, with raw feeding, because you are not afraid of putting in the work. Just do it! Don’t allow over analysis to paralyze you. Appreciate your comment.👍

@@EncounterCaneCorso Thank you for the encouragement. I was wondering could you please do a video about flea and tick prevention since Spring is here. I want to take a wild guess that you use natural preventative rather than conventional stuff. Thank you so much!!

What's the point of making a SILENT VIDEO at all, and then putting titles up for a split second so you can't even read them all??

Obvious you have $$$$ to buy raw meat and other veggies to feed two cani corso dogs. Would have liked a voice video. And true, reading is terribly small and fast

Yes, the text was too small and pacing too fast. New video’s on how we prepare raw dog food and how to shop for it..coming soon! Appreciate your comment 😎
