Good to see you happy and wanting to work on all the projects.
Yes, happy and knitting always! Happy New Year!
My mum used to sing 'I love a parade....' It's an old song from about 100 years ago. But that's how I feel about a WIP parade. It helps keep me on track with my WIPs AND I love seeing what others are making.
Your projects are in great colors! I love jeweltones. I went to your homepage and found the page where you foraged for mushrooms for dying because the yarn is so beautifully colored. And I completely understand the 'where are my size X needles?' question. Fours and ones are my big use sizes.
I am knitting WIPs with a few new cast ons thrown in. If it makes you feel better, I'm working on a Hue Shift Afghan I started in 2013. YIKES!! My goal is to primarily work from stash in 2023, and finish at least 12 WIPs. (I have 30 from pre-new year) I've already gotten two off the needles with at least one more dangerously close.
Thank you for your lovely comment! You have enough wips to join in on my knit 23 in 2023! It’s only just shy of double your goal of 12 😝 I’ve finished 3 projects so far this year and have a goal of working through 3 more wips this month. I was briefly able to rescue my size 4 needles to knit more on my twists and turns shawl, so I finally just finished clue 2!
I am dying to knit All of the Lights. Have to make room in my stash first 🤪 OMG you babysitting the Tamagachi 🤣
I *love* how your hand dyed is looking in that shawl!
Get that wheel out and ready so you can do Tour de Fleece with me this summer!
Omg these Tamagotchi are killing me - let’s just say that Owen is finally understanding the relief that bedtime brings 😂
Use the sleeves from your Easy V as a template. Do the long sleeves- New York is gold- plus you will make the best use of your natural-dyed yarn, rather than having tidbits that aren’t really enough to do much with.
Well, the Easy sleeves don’t have any decreases and I think I’d like these sleeves to be semi-fitted… I know I can do it and it’s on my February projects list!
I would definitely knit the brown sweater in long sleeves. Worsted weight sleeves go quickly.
Most votes are for long sleeves…. I think that I will make them long!
Loooooove the colorway you're using for the Effervescent! I have that issue of Pompom and would love to knit it too.
Yes! It’s such a fun color, isn’t it??
@@StopDropandKnitPodcast yessss! I have three skeins of TWF mohair in that colorway and I'm excited to eventually use it!
All of those wips would make me crazy! I'd finish those up before you start anything else this year. I try not to make plans because I always see something else I'd like to knit.
Lol, it’s less than I had last year! Progress…!
@@StopDropandKnitPodcast I used to be a monogamous knitter and then I dared myself to cast on a couple more things. I am definitely more chilled having a change of knitting to match my mood.
@@suetaylor I’m having to be monogamous at the moment in order to finish a test knit on time, and it is kind of nice to be super focused on one project - I sometimes wish I could be monogamous more of the time, but I worry also I won’t have enough content to podcast about…. Silly, maybe?
@@StopDropandKnitPodcast don't put pressure on yourself. I watch people who's personality I enjoy. It's the company of another knitter I enjoy. What they knit is secondary. I also watch the grocery girls and it's mostly banter with yarn stuff added. I also presently yearn for podcasts that aren't titled 'what I knit in 2922'. There seems a pressure to do what other podcasters do and that for me personally, detracts from the vlog. I want to enjoy time with YOU not a version of other knitters. Does that make sense? I guess I'm trying to allay your thoughts about having to produce stuff just to have content for the vlog. We enjoy you. If you came with your WIP and chatted to us on a live we would love it. Even if you just told us about that wip. Big hugs to you xxx
Sorry that I missed this reply - CZcams comments are hard to find beyond the initial comment… but thank you for relieving some pressure! I’m not sure about a live…. I’m pretty self-conscious and introverted, so the thought of going live is a bit overwhelming for me…
HI! I love your podcast! I didn't catch the name/brand of your favorite knitting bag - the one that you fold down to make a basket that your Going Somewhere shawl is in. Thanks!
Thank you so much! It’s a Hide & Hammer bag and I believe it’s style 3
I would knit your Bernie sweater with long sleeves. I’m curious if anyone know knit the long sleeves added notes doe how they did their sleeves. I think adding colorwork to the bottom of the sleeve would look very nice. I think my plan for knitting this year would be knitting through stash and also finishing my WIPS.
Stash and wips are at the top of my list! I’ve got a bunch of brand new stash from the fall and tons of older stash, of course….
