2021 Pasifika Festival - Fiji Bloom

A community-driven initiative that helps women-led micro-small-medium-enterprises (MSMEs) bloom into their fullest potential.
Fiji Bloom is an initiative led by Fiji’s largest micro-finance firm, South Pacific Business Development (SPBD) Fiji Ltd., which has an active member base of over 7,000 women entrepreneurs. The initiative aims to pave a new pathway to help informal women-led micro-enterprises (MEs) grow and transition into thriving, formalized small-medium-enterprises (SMEs).
We provide capacity building programs that are carefully tailored to the unique needs of women-led MSMEs. Our three core programs include a business formalization service, a SME preparation program, and Fiji’s first-ever business accelerator program for women entrepreneurs.
To carry out this bold initiative we are are creating strategic partnerships with aligned parties and designing programs to be financially sustainable for long-term continuation. We bring together local non-profits, stakeholders, and agencies that are all committed to serving and supporting women-led MSMEs across Fiji.
Through radical collaboration we are creating new opportunities for women to rise beyond a micro-level business.
We are on a mission to pave a new pathway to help informal women-led MEs transition and grow into thriving, formalized SMEs.
For most women-led MEs in Fiji, access to capital and capacity building services ranges from scarce to completely non-existent. Because of this, it’s no surprise that these entrepreneurs are unable to legally formalize their business and build a company that’s beyond the micro-scale.
So we started to imagine what a new reality for women-led MSMEs could look like, one where women-led MSMEs are prioritized; the business formalization process is feasible; women are empowered to earn more revenue through business success; and we help women expand their village-based business into neighboring communities, islands, and even across international borders. In this envisioned world, women-led MSMEs are in full bloom and because of this, we all thrive.
Next, we set forth to figure out how we could bring this imagined future into existence. This is the journey that led us to the creation of Fiji Bloom. And now, we’re collaborating with institutions across Fiji to bring women-led MSMEs tailored business training, business development services, industry-specific coaching, and unique market exposure activities.
Our vision is to cultivate a vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem for women-led MSMEs operating in Fiji’s rural villages.
Fiji Bloom has developed three core programs that are tailored to address the unique needs of women entrepreneurs across the continuum of business development.
Through our programs we strive to help women business owners address some of the key barriers of business growth and development. Currently, to enroll in Fiji Bloom programs/services, entrepreneurs must be a member of South Pacific Business Development (Fiji) Ltd.
