damn, almost got me. i have one selling iphone 13 pro max and surprisingly it passed the serial and model number test, but when i checked the fake one from your video it looks exactly like the one this guys is selling me, you saved me man

You are right about it being for mmWave, however iPhone 12 and 13 in other countries do have 5G, low and mid band 5G, however no mmWave which is what that cutout is for.

Could you try and load up AIDA64 on the fake phone to see the exact specs? CPU-Z can be tricked by some ROMs into spitting out the wrong specs as what happened with some counterfeit devices in 2016-ish.

The set up screen is completely different than the original iPhone 13 pro max start up screen, remember the original has a multi colored and blurred background with different languages of hello while that fake has one language ; the English hello and has a white background like the 11 pro max start up screen.

I like videos like these for pure entertainment value, but really when it comes to actual concrete advice in spotting a fake iPhone there are 2 very simple steps:
1. Price. The fake will be significantly cheaper than a real iPhone, otherwise what's the point..
2. If you suspect someone's trying to sell you a fake(i.e you're not buying the phone from an Apple store or known licensed retailer) just ask the seller to turn it on. The setup process on a real iPhone will ask for Apple ID, Face ID. Both things a fake will never ask you.
Another bonus easy way to verify is with a camera. Simply turn on the fake and look at it through any phone's camera app. The Face ID scanning lasers or whatever they are will blink red. The fake doesn't have the tech built into the phone so there's no blinking.

The best way to distinguish the real vs clone iphones is when ur setting it up on a mobile network and it doesn't make u set it up connected to a wifi network since everything on iphones has to be done with wifi

These scam companies should cease to exist.
Connect it to your computer USB, it will say "MTB USB Device" in your file explorer. If you have Windows 11 in your Settings and Devices it will say "Pro_Max13" instead of Apple Iphone.
So, I’ve been using apple since 2006 or 2007 when the first iPod touch came out. And I was so focused on looking at the 2 phones in the thumbnail I didn’t see the fake and real logos, I just knew the left one was real based on the colors on screen alone.
So the best way to avoid a scammer is to meet him at the carrier store and put the phone on one of their wireless chargers, and while you’re at the carrier have them verify the important info. Also the real one has the extra what looks like a SIM card slot on the right side bezel.
Fun fact the extra thing you're referring to is not on the UK models 👍🏻 so they could be modelled off that version

Fake phones are usually sold by small independent electronics stores! If you want to avoid fake products only buy from major electronic chain stores like Currys and from large department stores like John Lewis.

Smth I also noticed is if you look at the flashlight on the back the fake one is completely white while the real one has like a yellowish tint to it. Could just be lighting that make it different but doubt it

A few years ago their copy was clearly showing that it was fake so yes give them a few couple of years and they'll be able to reproduce, maybe not the latest ones but a decent ancient model. It's call progress in scamming, scammers always improve faster than we know.

I just recently purchased a refurbished Iphone 13 pro max from "Cellmart" in California, but live in Canada and it ended up being a fake. I must say it appeared to be real until I went to try and enter my apple ID, the key board wouldn't even come up. Also when i bypassed that straight through to the Icloud sign in, the key board worked but didn't log me in. My question is from watching this video, is that the phone can be used but it won't transfer your old Iphone data to the fake one ?? But you can still upload apps through google play and use the phone as per usual ?? I tried contacting the company several times for return and refund, but they won't respond of course. Not sure what to do with this phone ?? HELP !!!!

Anyway here’s my point of view
1. The box - you feel it’s different quality. Writing isn’t so good. Imei was good, I verified after, but the said the device was already activated.
2. I opened the box, if you look in the sun, you can see a bluish color of display. Metal case outside wasn’t like original, not so polished and clean edge.
3. Display shows from when you start the phone- Assistive touch, I think they wasn’t able to hide that.
4. If you have the real one, you see immediately fonts are different and the quality of display is lower quality, definitely half or lower than retina
5. Device I felt is more lighter than original.
6. If you try *# 06 # you will see some Imei results, but original come first line with Eid and don’t look similar.
7. If you scroll between menus you feel it’s sluggish.
Anyway, for a replica it’s very good. Beware of scammers 👍

It looks pretty good, but then once you see the specs that thing is absolute trash. Running a 5 year old OS probably isn't recommended. The counterfeiters definitely stepped their game up though. Eventually they'll get to the point that you can't tell the difference on the outside.
If these guys got funding they'd make the best iPhone than Apple itself with the android OS. Imagine having all the Samsung s21 ultra features, and Android 12 on this phone with an iPhone13 look. That'd be awesome!!

The fake one have fake RAM & ROM as well, when they try to sell it at Aliexpress/Dhgate, it would say 8G RAM + 128G ROM and more but its always 1G + 8G Storage; you can hardly load any apps with that configurations, it would be nice if they install huge ROM & RAM.

From iPhone 10 every original when u place a camera on the front take a close look at the notch you can see a beeping light that is the sensor for the face ID and there is no way a fake or a clone can do that
I thought that was the proximity sensor for when you take a call it blacks out the screen so your face won’t push buttons, it uses infrared which is why you can only see it on cameras, but I might be wrong
Its a little confusing at 7:48 its under the power button a notch and a little later you changed the positions. Is now the top or bottom one the fake at 7:48?
But the flashlight is pink so I can still tell the difference, besides, The operating system on the fake one is not as smooth, it just instantly gets out of an app.

I checked the serial number of the fake one on Apple site surprisingly I found out it was the serial number of iphone 11 pro 😂

They have an app inside the menu and you can change whatever you want, imei, memory capacity etc
its not really "hard" to pinch serial numbers off genuine products, i think its to make it look more real but when they don't get the right product it defeats the purpose.

Just a side note; the European modell of iPhone that are capable of 5G don't have that "window" thing on the side as 5G here works differently than in the US. So here these fakes can convince someone much easier, but the Camera "Island" on the back always tells the difference even if everything else is copied precisely.

The chin is the first red flag for me. Once I see that display turn on, I know it’s a fake. Part of the reason the iPhone is so expensive is because of that chin, or the lack there of. Apple folds the display under itself which is an expensive process, which is why the fakes can’t replicate it.
What is the chin could you explain?
@@circunbalacion The section at the bottom of the phone. Remember the iPhone 8 and before that had the home button and Touch ID? That section where those buttons are was known as the chin. The goal had been to see how much of the chin and forehead (the section that houses the front camera and sensors) we could remove so we could have a full screen phone display while keeping the features.

One of the “camera” on the fake one is blue lenses. I watch some other CZcamsr open this fake iPhone and it’s actually only have 1 camera. And 2 others were fake camera 😅 … so when you see one blue lense. It’s definitely fake.
