- Sony A7IV. Should you buy this Sony full frame mirrorless camera, or should you not? If you have doubts go and watch my full review. I am sharing there my 6 months experience with the A7IV and I will also tell you whou I think this camera is for.
The Sony A7IV has 33MP full frame sensor, it shoots 4K 4:2:2 10bit video and at 25p / 24p the image is over sampled from 7K, which means the image is really detailed and sharp. The only downside is the 1.5x APS-C crop at 4K 50p / 60p. So is this camera for you, or should you look for something else. Don't miss out my full A7IV review and find out!

I just upgraded from the a7iii and wow is all I can say. The camera feels soooo premium! The a7r5 was more camera than I needed and the price of the 4 was just right. I have noticed some slight heat issues when browsing menus in movie mode but not a big deal at all.

Does it only overheat during recording or photo aswell?
Yeah, my a74 came with ver 2.0 installed, and it overheated when I was setting up the menu while I was inside my house/room temp.
I haven't pushed it much outside, but did use it on some low 90 degree days with high humidity. It hasn't given me a heat warning since that first time - although I'm still worried about it?!
I'll definitely be buying one of those new clip on fans that I've seen around the social webs.
I shoot 4k on a 1080 timeline with no issues. I freaking love this camera. Hybrid that does it all. No complaints here

Sometimes, but indoors and in tight spaces, this might caute some issues. Especially if you already have only some prime middle range lenses.
It's not about changing the focal length, but about worse image quality

@@gardkop1812considering that many folks use zoom lenses for convenience when shooting video, and that the center of the frame is always sharpest-I disagree and see no quality loss in aps-c on my a7iv in 60p.

Hey, thanks for watching. Much appreciated :). From my perspective, I live in Sony ecosystem (2 bodies, lenses) and I am not really unhappy with Sony overall. I cannot imagine switching to canon just because few specs (like no crop) and changing everything and even the "muscle memory" with menus, buttons, layouts :). If you are with canon, sure, I would not recommend the A7IV. Wish you great day!
Canon's dynamic range is kinda worse, then Sony

@@MartinNemeth if you interested to that comparison and don't know exact experiments with sony's and canon's dynamic range, there's good videos from Gerald Undone, where he literally on numbers showing us, what these cameras are capable of
The real problem it’s overheating
Hey! Thanks for watching :). I never had any issues with it. I guess that during summer, on a direct sunlight it might overheat after some time.

I don't think it's a problem in photo? I guess if you have to leave it turned on, and are shooting bursts the whole battery life - but that's probably more demanding than video...@@ThrillSeekersYT
@@MartinNemethin the power settings change the power off temp to high and it won’t have any problems
