I’ve been doing digital photography for 20 years. I’ve used levels and curves for a long time. This class put everything together in a way that I hadn’t thought about before. I now understand them on a different level. I hope there will be more classes like this from Alex. Thanks and great work.
Pun intended 😉😂
I usually refuse to compare, but this was actually a lot better than some previous sessions hosted by guest photographers. It needs to be said. Thank you so much Alex for the clarity of your teachings, and for the utmost professionalism shown in the video. You clearly know C1 from the inside out. Thank you and David for a great session! Definitely learnt many things today.
I usually Dont bother with anything but David Grovers webinar’s, because no matter how amazing guest photographers are they not always are good teachers or share anything ground braking. I’m gonna watch this webinar thanks to your comment
@@MaxLemesh My point of view is that of a hobbyist. I do not use the software professionally. With that in mind, I hope the webcast will prove as useful to you as it was to me!
What a great teacher, very knowledgeable about C1. I wish I had seen this video earlier, I've been eyeballing C1 color for over 2 years without much understanding. You've just shine a bright light on my work flow, thank you thank you! 🙏🙏
I have watched many C1 videos over the past 5 years, I have watched every session by Paul Reiffer, today Alex beat them all. I learned some very cool stuff. I think many presenters try to address beginners, but after a while we need some down in the weeds technical editing skills to be showcased. MORE ALEX!!
Great job Alex. You did a spectacular job showing off the levels and curves tools. I think many people will bookmark this video and come back to it from time to time.
You are a great presenter Alex - Easy to follow - Wonderful information - Very professional - Great voice - I hope Capture One uses you a lot more in this series or start your own channel.
Alex killed it. I cannot believe how good they are on camera without a script.
Both Alex and I are just Ai models. It's all a lie. ;). /David
@@CaptureOneI knew it for a very long time 😂
Great presentation! It helped to de-mystify these tools for me as I have always struggled with them. Feel a lot more confident now to revisit them as part of my workflow.
Awesome! Happy to be able to boost your confidence, Gavin.
This was very instructive! Especially effecting colorbalance by using levels and curves. Thank you ever so much, Alex!
One of the most informative videos I watch in ages. Thanks so much.
Very good job, Alex. I look forward to seeing more of your tutorials.
A wonderful video that explains adjustments using tone and curves very well. For me it was very worthwhile to watch the video. Thank you Alex
Thanks for the feedback. We're glad you enjoyed the livestream.
David would be proud 😊! Thank you!
Superb job, Alex ! You are a natural born teacher and I hope you'll be doing more of these sessions in the future. Slainte !
Great video! I love the substract way to color grade, look more pure and vibrant. Great work!
Great explanation of the tools.
Pity that lovely green tree had to suffer in the process. :)
Alez Great Video. Hope you come back for another presentation soon.
Thank you, super usefull curse. it's so clear now, i know why i always was wrong with Contrast. thanks
Great session, thank you!
Interesting and helpful information. Well done presentation!
The best tutorial so far... It also worked in video.
This was a very good class! I have to admit that I was sceptical at first but had to give inn. Very good job 👍🏻
Thanks a lot, it was very clear to me, I learned interesting new tools.
Definitely would love to see you do livestream of CMYK - Subtractive Model - Output - print = please. Thank you
Very nice presentation Alex. You portray great confidence as you present. Great knowledge of your topics. I'm looking forward to learning much more from you in the near future.
Thank you for such a warm comment, Jim. We'll make sure it's passed directly to Alex.
Hope to see more of you too soon!
Un video estupendo para entender curvas, niveles y COLOR, para guardarlo y verlo despacio. Explicado muy bien, como todos los que hace esta mujer. Si hay que poner alguna pega, que no sea en Español.
Thank you!
I can do levels pretty good. I need to work on using curves. Thanks for the presentation. Good job.
thank you so much C1 Team
Loved this tutorial. Would love to see more
Hi, check our learning hub to find more: captureone.co/learninghub
Thank you very much ❤💙💚
Excellent lesson
Thanks you! 👍👏🌹
It was worth mentioning YCbCr format
Thanks
Excellant
very good
At around 25:17, you adjusted the exposure slider before using auto levels. Why?
I loved this presentation!!!
Hi! When a photo is considerably underexposed like this one, I would advise to always fix that first before moving on to other adjustments. Thanks for your feedback! /Alex
Yes she threw me for a curve ball when she did that. I was with her until that. I understand her response she gives above. Even when yes I understand what she is explaining for her reasoning. It still a little hard because of wanting to keep the highlights of the image not to go to 255. So yes there is many ways to go about it fortunately with C1. Thank you both for letting me write endlessly to get to my insane explanation.
Stopping right at the beginning. I was actually looking to draw a straight line on some of my photos to represent property lines.
Great video, On the last image of the hot springs i think the second edit with the color tool is better than the edit with the curves. This is because there is purple on some of the white sand where it is grey on the image on the right. Did you notice that?
👍
Thanks for the help. You are so much prettier than David. Sorry David, 🤣
Dónde se puede ver este tema en español?
I am wondering - when you resize the sidebar with all the tools, why does the curves tool not resize as well? The Color Balance chenges size, so why is that not the case with the Curves panel? It would help greatly with minor adjustments.
Could you drop a line to our tech team at captureone.co/support, so we can look into this behavior, please?
Great explanation! Well done! But please, can you talk a bit slower, not everybody is used to your accent. Please can you also just a little bit less. Your head is dancing a lot.. I don't want to critic all your effort and your great explanation. But it would really if you are just a bit less easier to watch!
Describing what you're doing on your screen (in quite a chaotic way, jumping from one tool to another) is not the same as being a tutor, it requires different skills, and methodology.
You should also be careful with using of multiple tools in combination, because they may clash with each other (auto-levels/contrast/shadows)...
Terrible editing, she butchered the image! Am I the only one thinking it???🤔
I serch for you and you are a genius. And yes, you are the only one. I find her fantastic and down to earth.
42:50 - To be clear, the image on the right (using just the white balance tool) looks WAY BETTER.
