That's not true. As an ex RS125 owner who now rides and races supersport bikes, I can say with confidence that me on a 600 wouldn't loose out anywhere to me on an RS125, except maybe an indoor go-kart track or something silly. They are plenty fast, and easier to ride through tight twisties than bigger bikes for sure. An RS125 will easily keep up in the corners on twisty roads below 50mph, but it certainly wont be significantly faster. But as you say, in reality it all comes down to the rider.
These bikes are getting up to 110 - 115 Mph (properly tuned) . Put it this way, on tight twisty roads 600's and liter bikes (depending on rider) don't stand a chance in hell.
178 is v/max full open a ktm 2stroke like the exc has more ps but is 30km/h slower but if you rise up the throthle the ktm will come up in 1st 2nd and if you puut up the (lenker :D) also in 3rd gear
mate just got one put it at 4-5 k pull off sounds like power dropping slightly have to use the clutch a bit slower is this normal and also where to put revs for hill starts i can ride big bikes and cars just never been great on a 125 at pulling off
Even though I have much faster and more expensive bikes now, I still miss my old RS125 so much. I will buy another one soon to keep forever!

my RS 125 1999 does 192 km/h Not downhill, No wind helping me, completely flat so i hope a new RS goes alot faster than that...

the awesome thing about 2 stroke is that with 125cc it can get 160 km/h but you can get so much faster out of it :p

a bit slow coz the old rs could reach 160 even more with stock cilinder kit, anyway still a the fastest 125cc road bike
never:) the rs4 125 is 4 stroke and has 15horsepower;) with the normal rs 125 2stroke you could reach 180 with good tuning and another transmission
