After having my IS300 for a couple years I decided that the braking system didn't look or perform as well as I would have wanted. I set out on a mission to change this. Now normally this would involve opening the blast doors and letting the money just pour out from my wallet but I decided to find another way. I found a set of LS400 calipers that with a little modification fit my car and look wayyy better than stock!
I will be releasing a separate video that will include parts needed for swap along with a price breakdown for doing the entire upgrade, stay tuned!!

Thanks for showing how to rebuild the caliper 👍🏽
Your Pullover rocks! 🤘
The other shirts too! 😁
Yo! You look like the bank robber in north Hollywood in 97 🤣🤣🤣
What size socket are the torx head bolts to seperate calipers?
I’m thinking of doing this swap. Is there any point in doing all four corners vs just the front? Just kind of an OCD thing for me having the front different from the back.
Hahah in late too the video but just got too say first off.....I fuck with your shirt selection very hard💪🏾 Secondly shit came out so clean!! Doing mine currently just need too get rotors and remove the rears for paint also👏🏾
I don't think there's a shirt in my closet that isn't band merch 😂 Hell yeah bro! Get those things on, I wanna see em! 🤘🏼🤘🏼
Do u know if these callipers can work on a jzx90 or jzx100
Hey dude I watched your old video of the water pump change. I was wondering where you got all the gaskets for it. The two that go on that pipe
I saw that I replied on your first comment haha but the main water pump gaskets came with the water pump. The o rings from the water outlet I bought at a toyota dealership. I included part numbers in the description of the video so you know exactly what to get 🤘🏼
Questions:
Will 17's fit?
Also what does the weight feel like has it been compromised?
I'm still running stock 17s with 25mm spacers. You have to run spacers with stock wheels at least 15mm to clear the brakes but aftermarket wheels it all depends on the curvature of the inside of the wheel. As far as brake feel I'm gonna be honest I don't track my car so I don't usually get the brakes going that hard. That being said I pretty much don't feel a difference between these and stock as far as pedal feel
Think an 18 inch wheel will fit it without spacers?
All depends on the wheel. Make sure to find one that is advertised as having good brake clearance. My cosmis racing wheels i got fit it perfectly with no spacer
I know this videos a year old but you could just sand that rust or brake residue off your rims. Wire brush will gouge the shit out them though so don't go that route. I don't think lacquer thinner would work but who knows? Anyways brakes look good! So you didn't have to buy the kit and just bought the adapters then modded everything else?
It was pretty deep seemed like I would have had to sand it off but they were just stock wheels so I wasn't too worried. There's not really any kit's available other than the figs adapter kit. Once you have that everything else is just ls400 stuff and nothing really requires modification other than installing the adapters into the calipers
Do i need those bolt adjusters for it to fit the lexus gs300?
I believe so but I haven't done too much research on that swap
so just how much better is the braking with the ls400 calipers?
Honestly I daily this thing and it doesn't see any sort of track use so I couldn't really speak on performance gains. It'll still lock up the wheels but without grippier tires and extended use you probably won't notice a difference
Hey bro i just did this swap also, and had a question. Do the bottom part of your brake pads stick above the rotor a tad? Top part of caliper is tight maybe few mms away from rotor. And if so do you get uneven pad wear? I knoticed mine do and am trying to find out if this is common problem it is not talked about and figs says its hard to get them perfectly aligned.
Mine do not, but I have had a few people tell me they had trouble with a similar issue. I think it's all about making sure the spacers are lined up perfectly before you press em in which is why I installed mine with only the back side of the caliper to align it. Yes, pretty common issue but can be fixed
@@RotaryDaddy thanks for replying bro i did it like you did with only half the caliper mounted i went off the pics from the tt calipers but maybe have to angle them more like you did. Did you test fit the pad before pressing in the adapters?
Hey man, I’m rebuilding my calipers and have every other part sourced except for the anti rattle clips that are held in place with a small Allen head bolt. I’m wonder do you know where I could get them as two of mine are broken, can’t seem to find any online.
I've actually never seen those sold separately. Mine came installed in the calipers and I never removed them so I'm not sure man. Good luck finding them tho!
Low Octane Motorsports Thanks for the reply, I’ll see what I can find 👍
I have a lexus rx350 2013. Do you think that LS400 calipers fit in my car. Mine are stack calipers with 2 piston.
That's kind of a tough question cause I have no idea if the caliper mounts and hub offset are the same on the rx350 and the is300. Can't really help you with that bro.
Nooooice! Gonna have to do this myself! Did you use IS300 stainless brake lines?
Yup is300 lines all around!
@@RotaryDaddy Thanks mate! :) Coilovers for you soon?
@@shizukesajdm you're a bit behind it sounds like lol I'm buying my second set for this car tomorrow but don't tell anybody 🤫🤫😂
@@RotaryDaddy Not good ones though :D BCs now then I hope!
@@shizukesajdm not bc's I think imma switch it up a bit 😎
Chemical guys Decon, for the brake dust
I'll have to try that!
Anyway you can throw some links to all the extra parts you need to do the swap
I'll get em put in the description by about 2 o'clock!
Links are up!
What a g thanks
Do you have a link to the wheel spacers you used?
www.amazon.com/dp/B00A7I380O/ref=cm_sw_r_fm_apa_i_6bzrEb6Y3VPFH
Those are the exact ones I'm running! 🤘🏼🤘🏼
Awesome. Thanks!
Did u have to buy rca spacers so it spaces your tie rod?
Rca's are included in the figs kit! 🤘🏼🤘🏼
@@RotaryDaddy
O.ok.thought u didn't install those.i dont see in video
Ah yeah they're in there! 16:12
I believe it was RCA or use GS tie rods
Hi. I bought. This 2002 Lexus 300 is. For my son. And needs work. Wondering. If you live in california or you have a shop. So I can stop by. And. Check it out
Did you still use the stock wheel studs?
Yup! Spacers I got were the type with studs pressed into them so there was no issue!
Irvin Ortega thank you and sorry I meant to ask that question on the video where you installed the wheels
@@LuisFlores-eo6mh lol same thing! Haven't upgraded studs at all 🤘🏼
Irvin Ortega sweet thanks I’m going to buy my wheels
Irvin Ortega with the same exact specs as you expect with a 35 offset would that still look good?
Wanna do mine? 🤣
Get parts and I could give you a hand 🤘🏼
You will slow down the car faster and slow down the acceleration from more sprung weight from breakeven rotor
That's what turbos are for ;)
@@RotaryDaddy yes, even faster without that stupid upgrade. ups downgrade.
I did thiis
