Astronauts returning on the space shuttle regularly hit over Mach 25. Apollo 10, on its return from the moon, set the record for the fastest human speed at over Mach 32.
Anyone gonna comment on how awesome the music transition was whenever the jets started flying by
hot damn. that DarkStar in next level. Dope video bro.
6:45 the reason the YF 12 is so similar to the blackbird is due to it being just the blackbird for a different purpose(the YF 12 was an interceptor while the blackbird was a spy plane)
You physically can’t go faster than light speed
not yet, in the future, we might be able to
@@THEARDUOUSMOTH We will never be able too
@@sherozsheroz never say never
@@THEARDUOUSMOTH No its common sense we will never achieve light speed

Yooo big fan

The speed of light would be the equivalent of Mach 881,742.5.
Just to put it into perspective Light speed translated into Mach is Mach 874,030
enter SR 72....OHHH YURRRR!
i believe the reason why Jets/Planes is getting faster, is to allow them to arrive to targeted destinations faster like for instance you need to send a special ops team quickly to save a high value target but your running low on time so the speed will really help with that. Or to just assert dominance over other Nations
there really isnt much reason to push for such speeds, right now stealth is more important than speed, the only planes that are getting much faster are the experimental ones and the spy planes(to be able to outrun threats such as AAM's(Air to Air Missiles) or SAM's(Surface to Air Missiles)
Btw that's only the calculate speed that we know that some of these Jets can go because there's some jets are still classified like the F-22.
It says the F-22 could push that seat but it may likely be a whole lot higher than what we know. Also was talking about the little small situation that the United States did have it also explains why Jets likely F-22 were able to get scrambled out so quickly.
They simply need that speed to get where they need to go and it's very unexpected.
For that exact reason as well it will catch you off-guard and surprised. Simply doing to the fact that you aren't exactly expecting something that that fast getting to a one-point to another.
It even makes it more of an interesting fact that these Jets were very much scrambled probably multiple miles off from their original base where they were taking off from which means yes these guys and probably travel state to state under a hour going at the same speed that they're going.
Nice
The reason why a lot of modern jets don’t go that fast is because a lot of dog fights happen at subsonic speeds so being able to go above mach 2 for a fighter wasn’t really needed
Nice explanation!
