This is definitely the game I will commit myself to. I recently got into the fgc through a local league some friends ran and I fell in love with it. I discovered this game, specifically Elliana, and fell in love with it. I hope it goes well, but I'll be grinding this game and eventually start going to tournaments.
Hey Alpha! I recently released a couple of characters to the workshop named Wave and Shine, they're basically my interpretation of how Divekick would translate to a platform fighter. After a few revisions to the mechanics, I think they're a ton of fun to play, and I'd love if you could check them out in a future workshop video.
Also, it's great to see you come back to base game for the definitive release, because your early Rivals videos are the reason I picked up the game, and I might not be here making characters today if it weren't for that.

Seeing one of your favorite indie games getting supported and recognized by a larger company is such a good feeling. I'm really happy for rivals.
I really appreciate the brilliance in the title here. See, the previous eight or so Rivals videos have been about workshop characters, and have usually been titled "Rivals Of _______" , the blank having the name of the main focus of the video, usually a character. In this video, however, it's just "Rivals Of Aether", because there is no workshop support present, as the definitive addition of Rivals has none. The surprised tone of the title is also symbolic, as those who didn't know about definitive addition would likely have been expecting workshop characters, despite the thumbnail. And their surprise is reflected in the title. While the symbolic nature of the title may have been widely unintentional, I feel it applies regardless. Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

The funny thing is the new netcode on PC is really good. I had a friend who basically had an unplayable connection before and now we get 15ping. I played someone from Europe (im east coast) and it was a consistent 50 ping, no lag spikes

I got this game before the first DLC on PC because of Alpha, and seeing it blossom into what it is right now under Mr Furnace's direction and Alpha being nostalgic over it just fills me with great joy.
