    I haven't updated mine yet. Really didn't even think about it. Let me go check which firmware I'm using.

    Yup jellow effect still there, have you tried to stoped down the aputure to like f8, i heard the wobble is less intense then.

    Good thing you have the ZV-1 now…. Extended out with active and it’s not bad.

    Soooo the wobbles cont. huh

    Thanks for the video but are you sure!!??? There was crazy wobble before the update and then afterwards it seemed really good.

      I think "really good" is a stretch. It looks very average if anything. Canon needs to do better.

    This may have been answered but here's my question. Is it any better if you use RF lenses? Say the RF 35MM f1.8. or the RF 16MM f2.8. Will these fix the jello?

    Have you tried the latest update with the wobble IS?

    In my experience this is a general problem with wide angle lenses on any camera with IBIS and nothing Canon can fix. I also have this on my Panasonic S1 and GH5, both having a good IBIS. That's just one of the downsides of having internal stabilization. I guess you can choose between: camera with IBIS = wobbel on wide lenses and camera without IBIS = less stable footage on longer lenses. Both systems have their pros and cons.

    I'm so bummed about the IBIS wobble, I love my R5, but I feel like it wouldn't be hard for them to allow it to be disabled and still use digital or lens alone. Canons engineers take forever to do anything, unfortunately. They're better than they used to be, but the fact that they completely took it out of the R5C makes me think they're giving up on the IBIS for video :( Have you tried IBIS wobble tests on the RF lenses, I'm considering getting the 24-70 RF for the sole purpose that it will be less shaky and wobbly than my EF 24-70.

    The wobble after the firmware update seemed a lot better! There was definitely less wobble and it wasn’t as noticeable. Especially in your footage with you walking and comparing it to the footage before the update.
    Obvi the firmware update is for EF lenses but do you have any wide RF glass and have noticed crazy wobbling/warping effect like your footage pre-updated firmware? I wonder if the wobbling is less in for RF lenses than EF and if it’s worth spending a bit more for RF glass.
    Thanks Tristan

    Try using a 50mm lens with ibis

  • @matnetik

    Yo I shoot on an R6, ended up buying a 24-70 EF for b-roll and tripod shots and splurged on a 15-35 RF with lens stabilization for vlogging and handheld, won't even bother with IBIS ha

    • @TristanErvin
      @TristanErvin  Před 2 lety

      Smart man haha. I tend to keep my 16-35 on at all times and should probably break that habit. I have the 24-70 EF that I should probably give more love. That 15-35 EF though…may just need to bite the bullet and snag it 😅

    Can you turn the IBIS off?

  • @RobbertsTravelGuides
    @RobbertsTravelGuides Před 2 lety

    im thinking of getting the R6, but i Photograph trains/portraits/Lightning/weather so im afraid of the rolling shutter..

    • @DayHunch
      @DayHunch Před 2 lety

      R6 deals with rolling well

    •  Před 2 lety

      film in 4k 50/60fps, reduces the rolling shutter by half to around 15ms. If you need 25fps, just film in 50fps and 1/50th exposure time. Then change it to 25fps in post :)

    The R6 ibis is better than the Sony a7iv lol moral of the story is be thankful with what you have. This will save you a lot of money and headaches
