GNAWAYS returns with another electrifying live session! This time, we explore the depths of Wahyana waye , a track deeply inspired by the Gnawa tradition and infused with modern elements.
About GNAWAYS:
GNAWAYS is a collaboration between Ella greenbaum, a seasoned Gnawa dancer and performance artist, and Roee fadida, a multi-disciplinary musician who recently returned from Essaouira, Morocco.
Together, they craft new and original music that bridges the gap between tradition and modernity. Their sound incorporates the captivating melodies of Gnawa music with electronic beats and unique backing tracks, creating a truly immersive experience.
In this session:
Ella Greenbaum showcases her captivating vocals and choreography.
Roee Fadida takes the audience on a journey with his masterful Guimbri playing and musical production.
Inspiration:
While producing the track Roee was deeply inspired by the minimalist and effective melodies of Terry Riley, one of the pioneers of minimalist music and improvisation. This influence is subtly woven into the track, creating a unique and evocative soundscape.
