- "A Jazzy" Christmas Carol. "Angels We Have Heard On High", French Christmas carol from the 19th century. My original arrangement with short explanation of jazz concepts applied to a classic Christmas carol. Score with re-harmonization available on website (SOON). www.kenthewitt.com/
- Hudba
Angels we have heard while...too funny.Too good music Too! Thanks for sharing.
BRAVISSIMO !!!
It's also Christmas time down on the bayou where I am in the spirit or more accurately - into the spirits of Christmas (he wrote with a laugh).
We used to tell the audience: "the more you drink, the better we sound." It still holds true.
BRAVISSIMO!!!
Kent, YOU are the MAN! Happy Holidays to you and yours.
Angels we have heard while high? 😂🤣🤣🤣 PS LOVE how you get swinging second time around AND THE JAZZ LESSON INCLUDED!! AWESOME. Just discovered your channel right now. These chords are over my head for the moment, but I'll try it out! ThanXXX!

What a warm and moving piece of music. Especially the way you play it. Thank you, Kent!
*Splendid Music. Pleasant Evening.*
angels we have heard while high.. nice : )
"Angels We Have Heard While High"! Good one! Haha! Wow! I've been trying to learn this 'straight' from a hymnal. Was getting 'learning fatigue' from the holiday fatigue from the pandemic fatigue. Truly thanks for the laugh. Some friends came up with "The 12 Months of Covid. In the year 2020, the pandemic gave to me...."
Thanks for the humor. You are now in the elite club at the Jazz Ranch. We honor you, sir....swing loose!
@@KentHewittpiano88 Cool! The elite club. I'm honored! Except I'm a Ms. and not a sir. ...swinging loose!

Thank you, Irene, I'm glad you enjoyed it and get what I'm all about! Merry Christmas!
Beautiful work of art Kent!
Thanks for a great comment!
Thanks for this awesome arrangement and tutorial! I will have to try to learn from this. I've always wanted to do what could be considered real jazz, but ragtime is usually the limits of my "jazziness".
I'm glad to hear that I may be helping you to "expand your horizons"...thanks!
" Merci beaucoup " Monsieur Hewitt from France, my country.
Joyeux Noël to you.
Nice version of a well-known song. Thank you so much!

Merry Christmas..Happy New Year, and thanks for taking the time to watch and comment!
Kent, this may be your best Christmas arrangement! (That's a 'hella nice' tie, too.)
Thank you! My favorite is still 'Have Yourself A Merry..." The tie is a Brooks Brother's from a 2nd hand store (makes you wonder).
How else are you gonna hear the angels? I love your channel, Kent! Can't thank you enough, and I will be buying your book. Thank you so much for all the free lessons and sheets, and have a Merry Christmas!
I appreciate you comment and compliments...keep watching and Merry Christmas.
Thanks so much for what you do! Looking forward to the sheet music for this one!
How can we get all the shops to play songs like this, instead of all the boring stuff we've all heard a million times?
Interesting, beautiful an challenging! Please keep going like this in 2017!!
If that happened then we'd have to think up something new to be unpopular. Thanks for the support and all the best to you and yours in the new year...thanks!
and the radio stations too! would be great. tho there is one on sirius xm that DID play this type of Xmas stuff some years back
Brilliant tutorial.
Much appreciated!
That's beatiful!

YEAH ...VERY Bravoooooo !!!
Bravooo to you, my friend!
Thanks Kent, insightful as always. Love the #9's, b13 idea on dom.chords, noticed that you spread it in 4th's starting on the dom.7th note of dom. chord. Then, changed it up to #11 on next dom. C7
Thanks for that good observation...keep watching ,,,and Merry Christmas.!
Great playing and great arranging. Since you've been in the Christmas mode recently, maybe you could tell Santa to bring me a set of finger extenders so I can play that monster D to F# tenth like you do!
Thanks!...I wish I could say the same for the RH. But I have a condition that bends the pinky in and, after surgery, it's still not right. So everything is relative...thank you!
Just excellent. I really like your swing. If you had a bass player and a drum player, it would be just amazing.
I have a suggestion for the next time: Dolphin Dance-Herbie Hancock
I love that song...thanks for the suggestion and all the best!
Hello again Mr Hewitt,
When you play drop 2 voicings in your videos are using the inversion and going up diatonically or with the melody?
Melody on top with 2nd note from top dropped down to LH... makes a pretty voicing. Often ascending or descending in step lines w/ dim. chords. Check here: czcams.com/play/PLFuMibnl_h5ZMcXYpItRkLzTgzqO44orp.html
Thank You
are you sure the in excelsis deo was in it? a much better version anyway ;)
anyone else think he was high
It's part of the humor bit.
