Hi everyone!
Today's colour choice was purples and greens...this is a commissioned piece by a repeat customer and I gotta admit, as first I was pretty skeptical on the colour choices, but boy was I wrong! I just LOVE this piece!

Irises are beautiful greens and purples, so this doesn't surprise me...beautiful! In nature all colours go together.
When colors are "complementary" means they compliment each other (at least that's what I've been told) but as you know, they NEVER mix to be a good color which is why we always put a barrier color between them. I remember one day when I was in nursing school, a fellow student was also an artist and we were do our psyche rotation in a local facility and outside the building were some purple and yellow pansies and of course with green leaves and she made the statement "Isn't God the most amazing artist?" Yes, indeed, He knew what colors to put together when He made color!!!. I have still so much to learn about pigments but I did learn about complementary colors in junior high eons ago. This turned positively beautiful!
I was shocked with the Green and Purple. They usually turn really weird. This is lovely.

Greens and purples are my favourite colours to work with. Also greens and blues. This is gorgeous!
Mardi Gras colors, without gold though. Purple and green is big here in south Louisiana. This is absolutely beautiful. Amy is one lucky lady to receive this.

Omg! My 2 favorite colors! Reminds me of a line from “The Color Purple” where they are walking thru a field of wild flowers and Shug Avery says,“ I think it pi$$es God off when you walk by the color purple in a field and don’t notice it”

I was thinking "oh no don't ruin a purple one by adding green, then I saw the yellow green and grasped LOL oh no, " well Amy if your reading this, and Kanella I am eating my words right now! LOL!! Purple and green combo? Yes! Think African violets, irises,etc. The natural color combinations in nature are a good jumping off point for any pours. 😉
