Thank you very much for this video! I couldn't add a new file to address list on the computer, but it worked for me when I did the same directly on the Canon copier. Also- for anyone who has a problem with this and their computer has no password- set up one. In my case it was a thing that made it finally work.

I created a share folder on the server. (\\ server \ scan) I created the contact in the printer settings. But when I scan it is written ''Invalid path '' ... Can you help me please?
Thanks, after seeing this video my mind got clicked that im using wrong mode, i have to use manager mode to add the scan share folder. general mode will not allow to add the folder.
Samatha, I am trying to setup to scan to my onedrive. I would have thought that the process would have been the same but I setup as you directed but the printer reports an error when scanning to the direct folder. Do ou have any thoughts here? Pls advise.
My boss Ken just tried it for his one drive and it was able to work. He followed the video. He left a comment on this video saying to make sure you are not on a public network. Being on a public network will stop scan to folder from working.
I shared my OneDrive folder on the PC and setup Scan to Folder via the video. It does scan and sync to the cloud. If yours is not working from the copier, the we really need to focus on the scan to folder part (OneDrive does not matter at this point). First, make sure your network is not set to public, scanning will not work if public. Set to Private or Domain. Second if older Canon copier, you may need firmware. What model are we dealing with? Third, could be firewall. You running McAfee or Symantec, etc? Turn off firewall and test. Be sure to turn back on either way. Fourth, use computer IP address; not the name. Find your PCs IP address and substitute that for the name. Hopefully one of these suggestions will help.
Hi, I tried scanning files from a canon 2006n to the folders of two servers (the first one is running windows server 2019, the second one is windows server 2008R2). I have no problems scanning files to the 2008R2 one but every time I scan files to the 2019 one, it returns error #806. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Great tutorial but I got stuck at 1:55, when it came to entering my printer IP address, I just got an error. After giving up, I discovered that I had to separately install the Canon MF Scan Utility software from their website...the driver alone will not allow the scanning feature on a MF644cdw. Piece of cake after that.

Great video. However it's not working out for me on my copier IR Adv 400i. Usually gives a feedback as "No response from Server. Check the settings" I've gone over several times but not getting it through. Please i need guidance.
IR400 is more than likely firmware. Contact your local Canon dealer. It will not work if the firmware is not updated. The 400 may have even been 'special firmware' from Canon.
I'm sending files to a group that has both email and folder destinations, is there a way to set the printer up so that the sent file name automatically copies what the email subject says? I end up with a bunch of files that have dates on the folder and can't quickly identify them since the files just have dates for names
I am not aware of a way to do what you are asking. Think you can name the FILENAME so both email and folder will have same filenames, but not the subject line.

I'm using a MF8280Cw printer. When I try to register a new destination (2:19), I am only seeing "group" and "fax" for type. I can't figure out how to get file to show up

First would be make sure your computer does not think your computer is on Public Network (How to check and change from Microsoft: support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/make-a-wi-fi-network-public-or-private-in-windows-10-0460117d-8d3e-a7ac-f003-7a0da607448d) Second would be update your copier firmware. There should be a button on the screen to update firmware.
just trash every Canon product you have, and buy Brother - their set up and app is very easy and convenient, and I bet your time is more valuable, than wasting it here. Canon? Never again!!

If you setup everything as explained, I would expect it NOT to work on that model. More than likely, you need a firmware update. If your machine has not been updated to the most current firmware version, it will never work. Sorry, but you must update the firmware.

Installed all the programs. I installed the 170iF drivers, I made a folder and shared, with and without a new user, in the adress list (in the copier) I made a new adress with many modificationes, like... with or without \\, the copier can't find the file, appears a legend. The web page, doesn't has a firmware update. In the copier it appears, but I don't know how to make it download the firmware. The copier restarts but nothing download. Thanks

Yes! For Canon, you will need to use a special app called Uniflow. We've made a video on Uniflow, and you can watch it here. czcams.com/video/JhbFPJoziiU/video.html Contact your local dealer to setup Uniflow on your copier.
The 3480 would definitely need a firmware update, if it has not had one. I will try to find a bulletin if this specific model can be update to support SMB 3. For some of these older models, you may have to investigate FTP transfer. Windows 10 disables SMB 1 for security reasons, the protocol the older copiers are trying to use. So the options are: if the vendor created a firmware update to support SMB3 then use that. If no vendor update, then you have to use a different protocol and that would be FTP. DSI does not have a video on FTP, but I am sure someone has. I will try to find out if your specific model can be updated via firmware and get back with you.

@@no-ce Okay, did find your machine today on the support website. If this is a Color imageRUNNER C3480i, then there is "special firmware" that will allow SMB scanning. However "special firmware" will require a technical to install.
I would like to control where the MF471 puts it's scans. I just want the scans of documents to go to Documents\Scanned Documents and scan of photos to go to Pictures\Scanned Pictures.
Sorry, but I don't know that model number. I am not sure of the interface. We sell larger office equipment and I don' know the smaller unit's interface to help.
Hy in Windows 11 i am trying to add address book and done with shared folder as it is shown in a video .After successful adding a address book in console of canon image runner 2525 i am not getting scanned file in my created folder ,please help me through your guidance
If this is an imageRunner 2525, then very likely you need a firmware update. That is an old model and if not updated, it will not work. Contact your local dealer to update the firmware of copier.
