- Hello everyone! Welcome or welcome back to my channel. In this video I am doing some Plant Chores. It's Spring...a very busy time of year for this hobby, and I've been doing a lot of up-potting of growing plants. I've saved three to do with you all. If you have some plant chores to do, feel free to grab your supplies and do some potting with me :).
In this chore video I'll be up-potting 2 Alocasia and 1 Schefflera. I'm moving these plants from 4" planters to 6" planters.
I'll also be sharing with you some new planters I recently picked up from Michael's Craft store. I was surprised to see the big selection of planters that they carry, and at really great prices! Check them out if you haven't already!
I'll also show you the newest Hoya added to my collection. I've been adding a few lately LOL.
Finally, we'll play "what's your favorite" where I show you two plants and you tell me, in the comments, which plant you prefer/which is your favorite :).
I really hope you enjoy this video!!! Thanks for watching!!!

Love the syngonium milk confetti - no contest! No matter how sun seeking a syngonium gets, it's still more fun than the philodendron cinderella slipper!
Thanks for sharing your favorite :).
I think I prefer the syngonium. It’s light and airy. I love your home and all your fun decor.
Thank you so much!!! And thanks for sharing your favorite 💚💚💚.
Love the new Hoya, can't wait to see the beautiful flowers, good luck growing this new plant in your collection. I think the Syngonium milk confetti is a beautiful plant and wins my vote.
Thank you!!! I hope I’m able to get it to bloom in the tent. I wonder how long it will take???? Hopefully not years! Thanks for sharing your favorite with me!!! 💚💚💚
Philodendron strawberry shake gets my vote, but the other one is beautiful too! Love your new hoya!
Thank you!!! 💚💚💚
Hi Gena, the Milk Confetti takes my vote. Love your top. I always enjoy your plant chore videos. Here in south Texas the hummingbirds have arrived. Can’t wait till we see your outdoor areas. Have a beautiful week ❤
Hi Sylvia!!! Thank you!!! I’m still patiently waiting for them here. I think it will be very soon!!! I hope you have a beautiful week too. Thanks again 💚💚💚.
I like the strawberry shake, but I would have to vote for the Syngonium milk confetti 🥰.
💚💚💚 thanks for sharing!!!!
Hello, my friend love the Hoya and love the birdys also. Have a great week Gena
Hello Duncan!!! Thank you!!! Finally we have some good weather and sun again. Just changed the sugar water in both feeders...come on hummers and orioles!!!! Can't wait to see them again. I hope you have a great week too :).
Strawberry shake! I loved this video and appreciated seeing your pots and where they came from. I love your aesthetic!
Thank you Kristen!!! 💚💚💚
Definitely the strawberry shake, no contest. Also, I have to get to Michael's ASAP!🐦
💚💚💚
I luv the Syngonium’Milk Confetti’.
💚💚💚
Love the rainbow and disco hanger! I am going to see if my store has one on payday! So so cute!
My store had the disco hanger in the store. Not sure about the others though 🤞.
My vote is for the Syngonium Milk Confetti.
Thanks for sharing your favorite :).
Syngonium Milk Confetti for sure.
💚💚💚
this background is immaculate 😍
Thank you 💚💚💚
Hi Gena, another lovely video, thank you, I love your new hoya, I never heard of this hoya but I hope to see it grows and blooms with beautiful flowers.. as my favorite; I love both but as I’m into syngonium, I choose the Syngonium milk confetti! 🥰👍🏼❤️
Hi, Eiman!!! Thank you!!!! I can't wait to HOPEFULLY see those blooms one day :). Thanks for sharing your favorite!!!
I just up potted my Pink Princess ‘Black Cherry’, I got as a tiny baby plant from The Green Escape. It’s now in a 5 inch self-watering pot. I have repotted 3 Hoyas and they’re putting out new growth.
Hi Paul!!!! Awesome!!! Sounds like your black cherry is growing nicely for you as well as the Hoya!!! Any Hoya blooming for you right now? Seems to be blooming season for me right now.
Ah you gave me a great excuse to take a nice long coffee break after a super busy morning.
I thought I finished all my need to pot up or repot yesterday after spending a couple HOURS doing it. My gosh. I had so many. Most going back into mother pots so a good time to refresh soil in them. I also did a little consolidating of duplicates. Took a couple cuttings to prop from over grown plants. But alas I missed several I had forgotten about in my parrot prop cage/nursery. Sigh never ending but I adore my plants.
I choose the Strawberry shake because I love philos but if it is fussy like the pink princess UGH Not a fan of that. If I ever get tired of propping cuttings I might turn my stacked parrot cages into an oddly shaped grow tent I have the lighting set up. I could put those sticky philos into it and give them some extra humidity. It probably would not be tight enough to need the fancy fane and exhaust system etc. Maybe just use the square bottom cage and keep the top cage for props. But this could be a project for way down the road. Hum although there is only two plant props in the bottom half right now. Hummmmmmmmmmmm
Hi, Chris!!! I'm about to head outside and work on our picket fence!!!! Glad I gave you an excuse to take a break :). Now see....for me, the pink princess has been easy. All the ones that have that leaf shape and growth pattern have been fairly easy...don't want to jinx myself LOL. Ok...Derek just headed out the door to work so I'm going too. Thanks so much for watching and sharing your favorite!!!! Have a great week :).
This was such a wonderful video Three Pot was very interesting I have never washed out roots before we both loved the pots we have two votes for the strawberry Shake it was a tough to decision because we thought that the milk confetti was such a pretty plant too nothing new going on here we've been repotting a few plants too the blooms on your new Jolla are incredible😊😊😊
Hi Lynn!!!! I like doing it just in case there are any pests in there….washes away the eggs. That’s my thought anyways 😊. Glad you enjoyed this!!!! Thanks for letting me know your favorites!!! Have a great week!!! 💚💚💚
The Syngonium Milk Confetti! Both very pretty plants!! I did some repotting earlier today! One Hoya into a little larger hanging planter and a small cactus that was just really drying out faster than all my other cacti maybe one more, cant remember!! OH! The sun just came out this afternoon after three cloudy, overcast, some drizzle, no snow, days in Southern Colorado!!😂😊
We woke up to 2” of snow yesterday. Today has been an amazing day after a few days of cold, rain, snow, and clouds! We were finally able to get outside again and work in the yard 🥰. Sounds like you had a nice planty day today 😊.
I have my Schefflera in a selfwatering application. It's constantly growing new umbrellas. I have cut the 2 main stems twice and rooted and repotted into the same pot. I am now ready to up pot because I now have 4 stems.
I’ll be anxious to see if mine starts growing faster in the bigger pot! I’ll keep self-watering in mind for the next up-pot! Thanks for sharing your experience!!!!
Hi AM!!!! How exciting….two new Hoya 🥰. Those are both beautiful ones!!!!
I hope the weather warms up for you soon! We too were running the heater and had the fireplace going as well. Finally yesterday it decided to warm up again and this week it’s supposed to be very warm again. I’m so happy about that 😊.
You noticed the wallpaper 🥰. Thank you!!!! I hope you have a beautiful week 😘.
Hi, Gena I love the Strawberry Shake. I've been busy up potting some plants.
Hi, Terri!!! Thanks for sharing your favorite :). Have fun potting!!!!!
I love the milk confetti

Strawberry shake for me ♥️

Hi Gena… love, love, LOVE your channel. Super fun watching you go through all your planty activities. Since you are going through plant chores… I have a suggestion for the community which has proven amazingly useful to me. Over the last year, I have been dealing with a horrible thrips infestation that came in on a big box store plant, that I did not catch. It of course, then moved onto my gorgeous monstera.. then to the next plant…etc.. etc… I have gone from home remedy, showers, to store bought insecticidal soap, to neem oil.. etc. but was not winning, as I was always missing some.. and the eggs were hatching etc.. etc. Anyway, I gave it some thought, and I invested in a mini vacuum that also has a blower option. These are used most often for computer keyboards etc. Anyway, I am LOVING it… mine has a little brush option which is gentle on the leaves .. so I get my dusting, and pest removal all in one. I clean the filter after and see all the critters that are caught. Then wash the brush etc… and repeat… as the days go by. This is working a treat! I am putting in the link of the item I bought from Amazon that is working so well for me. Perhaps, others will find this approach useful too. www.amazon.ca/dp/B0CRD97PZT?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details
Cool!!!! So glad you have found something that works for you. I hope it's helpful to others as well that are struggling. Thanks for sharing!!!! :)
I love repotting my babies. I just did 2 Hoyas this morning and watered and fed my syngoniums too. I am going to vote on your syngonium, it is beautiful and the size is awesome. I have this one among my plants but it's much smaller.
I’m hoping to get more potting done today but I have a ton I need to do today (not plant related) so we’ll see how plant productive I’ll end up being. I’m enjoying it too!!! Thank you!!!
I prefer the Syngonium Milk Confetti! My syngonium collection has really multiplied this spring. I am still in search of the Milk Confetti….❤️❤️❤️
Oh fun! There are so many beautiful ones to collect! Thanks for sharing your favorite :).
If you mix tree fern fibre with the moss in your pole, you won't have to water as often. I'm not really into moss poles either but I experiment with one. It was 1.8 m high, D shape with plastic back and wire front and approx 5cm in depth. Even in summer I only water every two weeks. It took about 3 litres to water and every once in a while I took it outside to hose down. I have decided they are not for me. Your Linearis at the 50 minute mark is just Gorgeous
That’s why I’ve never been a fan because to me they are too high of maintenance. I just have three so it shouldn’t be too difficult to keep up with them. Thanks for the tree fern suggestion. I’ll keep that in mind for any future moss poles!!! Thanks about the linearis too!!! 💚💚💚
Too hard Gena! 😂 I don't have either one. But, I'm a pink girl and love plants with pink in them. Now if I saw both plants at the same time at the box store I would purchase them both. So, I'm choosing the Strawberry shake because it has more pink and Iove the name.
I think they are both beautiful, but there is definitely more coloration with the Shake which is what makes it my favorite. But I do love BOTH very much :). Thanks for sharing your favorite!!!!
Syngonium milk confetti❤

Milk Confetti!!
Thanks for sharing your favorite!!! 💚💚💚
Hi Gena! I prefer the strawberry shake. Yours has gorgeous variegation! I have one with pretty variegation but the spacing between nodes is longer than yours. I should put mine on a pole I guess. Love all your new pots! You have such great taste. I have grown a couple of Alocasia micholitziana from corms. It’s a lot of fun!
Hi, Cheryl!!!! The last two leaves on my Strawberry Shake are small and not as pretty as the previous ones so I'm hoping this moss pole will stir up some beauty from it again LOL. I do love the variegation on this one. The poles really do work...I recommend trying it with your shake :) Thank you!!! Have a great week :).
Hi Gena. Your plants are so pretty ✨ love your whimsical and natural styling. I went through a phase where I got almost every single plant repotted in February. So many were in that coco peat and I wanted to do either my Chucky mix or Pon. Now I have a few new ones that could use a repot. I'm so happy for spring too. I want to get some geraniums and diamond frost, maybe a begonia for outside. ✨🌿🍄🌈
Hi, Tina!!! Thank you so much!!!! My burst of energy for repotting has happened in the last few weeks and it just keeps going!!!! It's such a fun time of year :). Happy plant shopping!!!! Have a great week :).
@@ThePinkTrellis you too! ✨
@@Tina-wi7we thanks 🥰
when I was little strawberry shortcake was my favorite doll I suppose that ages me as a Gen Xer lol!! But your shake is definitely my fav today. I’ve never been into them but they are starting to grow on me so I may have to look into getting one so pretty 🩷
Same!!! I loved strawberry shortcake dolls. I’m not a huge philodendron fan I’ve discovered, but there’s something about this one that just feels right. I love the coloration. I hope it glows up for me 🤞.
@@ThePinkTrellis with the iconic name of Strawberry Shake she’s got big shoes to fill with her glow up! But she’s in your care so she’ll be absolutely stunning!
I have just repotted Frydek and Black Velvet, but I keep all my alocasias in pon in semi-hydroponic. I can't keep them alive in soil of any kind. I hope h. archiboldiana will be flowering soon! My vote for philodendron, I have never seen that cultivar before. Have a good week.
So far I’ve been fine with the aroid mix soil. If I run into problems I’ll move them to pon. Thanks for sharing your favorite!!! 💚💚💚
I vote strawberry shake! You make it hard!
💚💚💚
I really enjoy repot videos and those alocasia are gorgeous just grown my first corm it’s now got a leaf very exciting. I don’t like moss poles but I they do work?? Oh definitely the milk confetti gets my vote x
How exciting!!! It feels so good to see those leaves pop out!!! My brandtianum has responded so well to the moss pole so I’m anxious to see what these other two will do. The moss poles really seem to work so far in my experience 😊.

Hi Gena! Your silver dragon roots are Amazing! So healthy on top too! Most of my Alocasia are suffering because of thrip…..but I just ordered some more…..I am going to try this year to get rid of thrip for good…..they have ruined my life and my plants….so much damage is hard to recuperate from but I can’t just throw them away…..I am hoping to put most plants outside this summer and rid them once and for all! I am not great at corm growing….a few I have been successful…..I still have my Azamax but have not tried it yet…..but have a full bottle! It has been a crazy month so playing catch up! And yes it is us on CZcams you found…..so funny I saw your comment last night……we are busted! It has been just for fun with our low tech filming! Sorry to hear about your thrip….I hope you squashed them all…..if they spread it would be your biggest nightmare….your plants are so beautiful…..going to keep watching……big hugs! Love tina
Too funny!!!! I KNEW it had to be you. Seeing Lou Lou was my first tip!!!! Your daughters are absolutely darling!!!! You have a lot of subscribers!!!!
Seeing your plants, I’d never guess you were having problems with thrips. They all look so healthy!!!
I hope you do a houseplant tour soon!!!! I’m so happy I stumbled upon your channel last night!!! It was meant to be 🥰.
@@ThePinkTrellis Scarlett has a short that got 200K views…..that is how we got so many subscribers…..funny…but it kept us excited….we will have to take it more seriously now that we know someone! I still have to watch your grow tent tour!!
@@justinamontgomery2618 yay I look forward to watching them!!!! I love that your daughters are involved with it 🥰.
Hi Gina, neither of these are plants that I would buy, saying that I would rather have the Strawberry Shake in my collection as I found Syngoniums to be bug magnets when I tried them🦗🦗
Hi! Philodendrons have been bug magnets for me LOL. Well, spider mites do love the Syngoniums too in my experience. I think they are equal bug magnets LOL. Thanks for sharing your choice :).

Thanks for sharing your favorite!!!! :)
Have you done a count of all your plants both in the tent and the house? I'd be curious after seeing the last video 😁
I always underestimate how many I actually have 😮
I haven’t! I’m a little afraid to do it lol. The number just keeps going up lol.
@@ThePinkTrellis make a video out it! Trust me, noone watching will judge, we are in exactly the same boat 🤣
Or even if you just counted how many in each genus...
I'm so in love with that shirt!! Did you find it on etsy? I've seen similar ones on there but this one has all the moths I love!
Yes! Etsy!!! I’ll link it here. I just ordered a moth t-shirt too. From a different place. I’m a moth lover too 😊.

@@ThePinkTrellis THANK YOU!! I'm definitely nabbing both a t shirt and a long sleeve!
Gena, would love to know where u got ur shirt? I love it!!!
It's from Etsy :). I actually linked it in another comment to that question!!!! It's somewhere in these comments if you want to check it out!!! Thank you!!!
@@ThePinkTrellis Thanks,
Strawberry Shake philodendron for me ..the Vinfetti syngonium looks getting a little too big for me
The Syngonium is pretty bushy!!! Thanks for sharing your favorite with me 😊.
I prefer the syngonium. Neither plant is my favorite, but I don't really care for the strawberry shake (no offense). I do enjoy syngoniums but find that they attract spider mites. Do you find this to be true?
Yes lol. It’s a fact lol. But I’m winning the battle I think!!!! 💚💚💚
Don't you want to try using pond for alocasia, because nowadays many people use it 😊
Not at all. Perhaps if I was keeping them in ambient air but I’m not. They are living in my grow tent where it’s very humid. Now if I start having any trouble with them I wouldn’t hesitate to try something different 😊.
Will someone tell me were to find Hoya at. (Durham and Raleigh area

What you have n your soil?
I use fox farm ocean forest soil and I add pumice, horticulture charcoal, orchid bark, and worm castings.
