When I have a tight pivot, I loosen it up and lube it. Then I tighten the pivot completely down and compress everything. From there I slowly loosen the pivot on both sides, and until you are, I’m at the point of where you have no blade play it but if you loosened it even the slightest bit you would. I have found that at this point the blade either drops free or a couple dozen open closes do the trick. I think the tightening it completely down step is key.
I hope that remains the case - blacked out completely... I just ordered one from a drop on BHQ, and they sold out almost instantly... but it makes me wonder is yours holding up on the high touch points? or has the coathing worn off?
I love mine. My favorite para yet. But i am a sucker for tantos. They could of blacked it out totally though. The action was so smooth on mine right out of box. Inconsistency on spydercos for sure. When you get a perfect one, ya keep it.

If the tanto Spyderco Paramilitary 2 is already overpriced at BladeHq selling for $192.95, I wonder how much is it going to go for on the secondary market? How much are people willing to pay for just ho-hum CPM S30V and gritty felling black G10? Also, give it 4-6 months from now and I can almost guarantee that BladeHQ will be coming out with a new exclusive tanto Spyderco Paramilitary 2 in either M390 or M4(with gritty black G10 scales) and BladeHQ will probably be charging $250.00 plus tax for it!!!

I like the all black look, but I’m not going to buy one of these. I’d probably get it if they had one partially serrated. When you got a thicker knife like that, the serrations can be a lifesaver for cutting certain things. But at that point, I may as well just get a microtech socom or an Emerson and go all out.
Really pissed that scalpers on Ebay are trying to get rid of these for $300. I'm happy with the ~$200 price point because I'm from Colorado and it would be really neat to own one. But it just feels disrespectful that people think they can charge that much for what is essentially a f*ckin production model. 🤦♂️ If you happen to be one of those folks who bought multiples of these to turn a profit, then get over yourself. sweet knife, just received a couple of them, the black DLC tanto now has black liners,
No issues opening and drop closing.

and three years later and a ton of inflation, and they kept the price the same on a new drop... for american made product, I'm happy about that
