Lol, it's still January 2nd 2021, and I'm listening back to this thinking "Damn, those guys were good!". I even remember seeing them at Manchester Apollo supporting Cameo and going out to buy the album. Not all happy memories because a week later I had my wisdom teeth out but, I did have the album to listen to on my Walkman. Great band, great memories. Give my thanks to them for the music, please
This group had two big hits, this song and "Party Freak". They had another minor hit in 1988 called "That's The Ticket". It was number 25 on the R & B charts. All their stuff was produced by Larry Blackmon of Cameo.
It's hard to figure how 2 different groups come out with the same music and release at the same time, I know there must of been some lawsuits flying back and forth.
For years i kept thinking they had more music, until i realized that there was another group called Cashmere with very similar music, Cashmere-Cashflow, easy mistake to make, 30 years on --the penny dropped, silly me.
This group was very hot back in that earlier era, with two (2) number 1 hits, and party jams, to go with them as I see it, Mine All Mine, and of course Party Freak, with a couple of nice love ballads; but apparently that wasn't enough to keep them going; I do recall them being a Larry Blackmon Of Cameo Project; you guys remember when Cameo had about 15 members in their group? and then disbanded down to only four (4) ? if I'm not mistaken, that's where that band originated from.
I'm from Atlanta. Cameo was based here throughout most of the 80's. I can say with 100% certainty that Cashflow wasn't comprised of former Cameo members. However, they were signed to Larry Blackman's Atlanta Artist label and produced by him. The rumor at the time was that they were members of a veteran Atlanta club band from the 70's called Southside Coalition who had a minor hit in the 70's with "Get Off Your Seats and Jam".
YOU ARE SADLY MISTAKEN MY WITH THAT LAST STATEMENT MY FRIEND. I KNOW THEM PERSONALLY. NONE OF THE ORIGINAL MEMBERS OF CAMEO WERE WITH CASH-FLOW. NO DISRESPECT INTENDED.
IT'S JANUARY 2ND 2021...
AND I'M ACTUALLY SITTING WITH ONE OF THE MEMBERS OF THE BAND RIGHT NOW 🤗

Larry Blackman was affiliated with this group and didn't want them to succeed.
